No. 2-kai! The Gao Beast is Troublesome! (ガオな野獣がごやっかい！ Gaona Yajū ga go Yakkai!) is the second episode of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger. It features the full debut of Gaon/Zenkai Gaon and the debut of ZenkaiOh JuraGaon, as well as the Goggle V and Hurricaneger Sentai Gears.

It is accompanied by the second episode of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger: Secret Zenkai File web series, Ep. 2: Zenkai Gattai! JuraGaon!.

Synopsis

Mushrooms are everywhere. Suddenly, the world was flooded with mushrooms. Meanwhile, Kaito and Juran made their decision and in transforming they've grounded their opposition to Tojitendo's forces immediately. There are three Geartlingers left. In the plaza, a figure was captivated by Kaito's enthusiasm when it came to searching for more members to join his team as he was approached by none other than Kikainoid Gaon! Just as he forgets about the mushrooms, he drives his fangs into the Tojitendo. The fate of these cute and delicious mushrooms can't end like this.

Plot

The episode starts out with a Kikainoid named Gaon getting fall in love with Animals in the Human World.

Secchan gives a brief recap of what happened to the last episode leading up to the world was flooded with mushrooms.

    • Hurricane Red to Zenkaizer - this is an obvious reference to the fact that both are the leaders of their respective teams.
    • Hurricane Yellow to Zenkai Juran - This might be a reference to Scroll 29: Lingering Summer Heat and The Stamp referencing Yousuke and Kouta's fight over which one of them should be leader.
    • Hurricane Blue to Zenkai Gaon - This might be a reference to blue and yellow being gender interchangeable colors between each other in the franchise.
    • Juran and Goan used their respective colors from their predecessors,while Zenkaiser used the blue color from Hurricane Blue.
    • The three present Zenkaigers using Hurricaneger Sentai Gear is a tribute to Hurricanegers' team up movies: Gaoranger and Abaranger.
  • Goggle-V was the first Sentai where all of the monsters are animal based by way of the Mozoo; all villain groups from Gorenger through Sun Vulcan had varied monsters without any specific theme, thus making it the first pure "theme" of such in the franchise on the villain side.
  • Juran Tyranno and Gaon Lion accidentally smooch each other pays homage to what AkaNinger and KiNinger did under Yokai Buruburu's Heavy Acceleration in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Vs. Kamen Rider Drive Spring Vacation Combining Special.

  • As part of Super Hero Time, this episode aired alongside Kamen Rider SaberIcon-crosswiki episode 26, Chapter 26: Deep Darkness, With a Sword.Icon-crosswiki
  • This episode reveals that a Legend Sentai power can be used by multiple Zenkaigers, even though only one Zenkaiger is required to activate its Sentai Gear.
  • Gaon fires at a Kudakk before transforming is a throwback to what Juran did in the previous episode, which Juran himself remarked about.
  • Like Juran's winking in the last episode, computer animation was used when Gaon squints his eyes at the rage of Tojitendo's heartless behavior.
  • This is the first episode to features two Legend Sentai Gears that were used by one Zenkaiger.
