Nickelodeon, often shortened to Nick, is an American pay-television channel launched in 1977, which primarily shows children's content such as Spongebob Squarepants and other shows. With Paramount Pictures, CBS, BET, MTV, and other brands, it is a member of the Paramount Global group of companies.

On May 12, 2010, Saban Brands repurchased the rights to the Power Rangers franchise back from Disney, and entered a partnership with Nickelodeon for the broadcasting rights through 2018. However with the network's broadcasting policies, it restricted the seasons to a maximum of 20 episodes instead of 40. Due to this, an adaptation of a particular Sentai season would be split into two separate seasons.

On February 12, 2018, Saban renewed their contract with Nickelodeon through 2021. Later that year, Saban sold the rights to the franchise to Hasbro, with Haim Saban himself now relegated to an advisory role for the franchise going forward. With the Nickelodeon broadcasting contract still active, Power Rangers Beast Morphers aired on the channel from 2019 to 2020, and was followed by the first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury in 2021.

In April of 2021, Chance Perez (who portrays Javi Garcia in Power Rangers Dino Fury) revealed that Season 2 of Dino Fury would move to Netflix as an original series upon the expiration of the series' contract with Nickelodeon at the end of the year, which Hasbro chose not to renew; thus marked the transition of the Power Rangers main series to streaming-exclusivity.[1][2] The first 11 episodes of Season 2 released on March 3, 2022.[3]

  • Nickelodeon broadcasted Power Rangers for nearly 11 years from February 2011 to December 2021, making it the channel to have been the longest home of the franchise.
    • In India, Nickelodeon and its sister channels continue to have rebroadcast rights for all seasons up to Beast Morphers.[4]
