History[]
Mighty Morphin[]
A compassionate yet stern teacher, Ms. Appleby taught several subjects at Angel Grove High. All of the original Power Rangers were enrolled in her class, as were Bulk and Skull. While she was typically warm and nurturing to her students, Ms. Appleby was often mocked by Bulk and Skull, such as when they attempted to give her a prank gift that they ended up opening themselves. Ms. Appleby was a big fan of the Power Rangers, and included a photograph of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in a time capsule so that the future will always remember the heroes. TV STORY-Reign of the Jellyfish She seemed particularly fond of Trini Kwan, who shared her interests in environmentalism. TV STORY-Clean-Up Club
During Parents Day at the Angel Grove Youth Center, Ms. Appleby was captured by Rita Repulsa's monster Dramole alongside Bulk, Skull, Ernie, and the Rangers' parents. They were placed in the Dark Dimension, though the civilians did not seem to remember their capture after the Power Rangers destroyed Dramole. Later that night, Ms. Appleby attempted to stop a food fight but quickly joined in and pied Mr. Caplan in the face. TV STORY-Return of an Old Friend
While Ms. Appleby usually got along with Tommy Oliver, one instance of his wrist communicator going off during class resulted in her confiscating it. He attempted to retrieve the communicator, which Ms. Appleby thought was a beeper, but the teacher caught him. He pleaded with Ms. Appleby to give it back to him, and Ms. Appleby reluctantly agreed. TV STORY-Second Chance She also confronted Tommy and Jason when they were both placed under a spell by Rita Repulsa to become antagonistic to each other. Kimberly and Trini managed to convince Ms. Appleby they were only practicing their karate. TV STORY-On Fins and Needles
During a meeting after the events of Arrival Day, the Rangers mention that Ms. Appleby left the school early to donate blood to the Red Cross as part of the relief effort for Angel Grove.
While teaching her class, Lieutenant Stone arrived looking for Bulk and Skull, however he was unknowingly sprayed by an invisible Miss Chief's love potion which made him fall in love with Ms. Appleby, who complimented her and asked her to go to the Junior Police Ball with him, but Ms. Appleby was shocked and slightly embarrased by this. Later when talking with Mr. Kaplan, he was also sprayed with love potion which made him to fall in love with Ms. Appleby as well, much to her shock and wondered if everyone in the school was becoming mad. However, despite her initial dislike of the situation, she later was seen flattered and delighted by Lt. Stone and Mr. Kaplan fighting over her, but before they could punch each other, Finster (who was invisible to them) cured both men with an antidote, which made Ms. Appleby cry on Lt. Stone's shoulder. At the ball, she was asked by Lt. Stone to dance with him and she with a smile agreed. TV STORY-The Potion Notion
Her first actual appearance was in Issue 2 of Go Go Power Rangers, trying to teach her class, only to be interrupted by Bulk and Skull. She later has a talk with Billy about his slipping grades and missing an exam, concerned for her star pupil and having a talk with him to comfort him about the events of Arrival Day. Ms. Appleby tells him a young person's concerns should be their grades and preparing for the future and it is the job of adults to worry about the bad things going on in the world. Billy should not have to worry about things that are beyond his control. COMIC STORY- Go Go Power Rangers Issue 2
Zeo[]
During an exam she was administering, Ms. Appleby was caught in a time vortex alongside the rest of Angel Grove High after the Machine Empire used a device to create a temporal distortion. The Zeo Rangers managed to destroy the device and defeat Prince Gasket and Princess Archerina, returning time to normal. TV STORY-A Brief Mystery of Time
Turbo[]
Once she graduated, Kat Hillard became a teacher aide for Ms. Appleby. They administered a test to several students, including Justin, who two bullies tried to cheat off of. Ms. Appleby scolded all three students and had them stand in the hallway until the test was completed. The bullies then pulled the fire alarm, giving Divatox the idea to create chaos by continuously activating the school's fire alarm herself. Ms. Appleby sent all of the students home until they could figure out the issue. TV STORY-Alarmed and Dangerous
