"Originally just a Street Bike, but I made some changes for the whole domination thing. All I need is a power source. And guess what... YOU'RE ELECTED!"
―Motodrone explaning his plan to the Crimson Ranger.[src]

Motodrone was a mutant mechanical entity and was one of the main villains of Power Rangers Ninja Storm.

Character History

Unlike the other villains in Ninja Storm, there have technically been two Motodrones.

The original Motodrone was once Perry, a kind and friendly motorcycle expert who was conducting an experiment to create a new generation of motorcycle. Unfortunately, he was caught in the accident that changed him into Motodrone. Motodrone then kidnapped Hunter and tried to use his Crimson powers for his motorcycle, but his plans were foiled by the Ninja Rangers. The Crimson Ranger destroyed Motodrone and freed Perry with his newly acquired Ninja Glider Cycle. Motodrone's remains were salvaged by Zurgane and brought back to Lothor's ship for repairs. After the re-emergence of ancient villain Shimazu, Motodrone was rebuilt and revived by transferring the soul of a Kelzak into his reassembled pieces. Motodrone then fought the Power Rangers under Lothor's command. Motodrone has shown more interest in destroying Hunter than the other Rangers, leading him and Hunter to be archenemies. Shortly before the final battle, Lothor requested him to spy on Vexacus, due to his distrust of him. He was later destroyed by Vexacus when he threatened to disclose Vexacus' treacherous agenda to Lothor. It was later revealed that had been part of Lothor's plan from the beginning. In the two-part series finale, he came back once more from the Abyss of Evil, but was quickly destroyed one final time by Shane in his Tri-Battlized Flight Mode. Like the other generals, it was not revealed if Motodrone was completely destroyed, since he was only seen falling down after being blasted. The fact he didn't make a resurgence in the future suggests he was however. Tvicon.png TV STORY-Storm Before the Calm

Alternate Motodrone

In an alternate dimension, its version of Motodrone worked for Mayor Lothor. Motodrone is among those who helped Mayor Lothor fight the Evil Ninja Rangers.Tvicon.png TV STORY-The Wild Wipeout

Personality

Much like most villains in Ninja Storm, Motodrone is a cold and ruthless entity that loves to wreak havoc on the city, though he does have some points of humor added to him. He was also loyal to Lothor and Zurgane.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Teleportation: Motodrone can teleport himself and anything next to him to any location at will.
  • Teleportation Beam: From his hands, he can fire clear yellow beams that if hit on contact with the enemy, will teleport them into any location he wants.
  • Lightning Vision: Motodrone can fire pink, red, or yellow colored lightning beams from his eyes.
  • Energy Lasers: Motodrone can fire red-orange or yellow colored energy lasers from his hands or fingers.
    • Resurrection: Motodrone accidentally brought Shimazu back to life when he fired his energy lasers at him.

Abilities

  • Strength: Motodrone is one of the stronger enemies in Ninja Storm. In the episode "Brothers In Arms", he is powerful enough to best the Red, Yellow, Blue and Green Rangers in battle.
  • Durability: Motodrone has thick skin that lets him remain unfazed by opponent attacks.
  • Skilled Fighter: In addition to his strength, Motodrone is also a skilled fighter. In the episode "Brothers In Arms", he reflected the shots fired from the Crimson Ranger's Crimson Blaster with ease.
  • Motorcycle Summoning: Motodrone is able to summon his motorcycle at will.

    • Energy Empowerment: Motodrone can power up his sword with yellow energy to slash at full force.
    • Sword Lasers: Motodrone can also fire orange colored energy lasers from his sword.
  • Shoulder Shields: Motodrone has shields on both of his shoulders that were strong enough to block the Green Ranger's Samurai Saber.
  • Hooded Robe: In some occasions, Motodrone wears a brown hooded cloak-like robe with gold shoulder plates to conceal his appearance.
  • Motorcycle: Motodrone pilots a gold and red motorcycle that can fire pink lightning lasers or orange energy lasers and be used to travel to other places.

Notes

  • Motodrone (with his cloak on) bears a resemblance to Lord Agony, the main antagonist of Locks Quest, a video game made for the DS, which was made six years later.
  • Just like Shimazu and Vexacus, Motodrone was never a member of Lothor's army since the beginning. While Manmaruba was a member of Jakanja from the beginning, he also had a smaller insect form which grows into an adult form (whose costume was used for Motodrone).
    • Also, Manmaruba's final form is used for the monster Eyezak instead of being Motodrone's final form.
