The Moon, also known as Luna, is Earth's natural satellite that orbits around the planet.

In Power Rangers[]

The Moon has the same gravity as Earth, along with a breathable atmosphere.

It was the location of the Moon Palace of Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. It was also the hidden location of the Zeo Crystal.

The military of Terra Venture conducted a brief live-fire exercise on the Moon before leaving the Solar System, which went wrong and nearly killed the future Pink and Red Galaxy Rangers, Kendrix Morgan and Leo Corbett. Tvicon TV STORY-Quasar Quest

Some years later, Leo returned with the other Red Rangers when it became clear that Lord Zedd's war zord Serpentera had been hidden on the Moon and that the remnants of the Machine Empire sought to take control of it. Tvicon TV STORY-Forever Red

The Return[]

In the alternate Boom! Studios comic timeline written by Amy Jo Johnson, the Power Rangers fought a climactic battle on the Moon in the year 2001, the conclusion of which caused a massive and violent explosion that broke off a portion of the Moon.Comicicon COMIC STORY- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return Issue 1

The cause of the explosion was later revealed to be the result of the Benevolator, a device that was supposed to release a wave of purification made from Grid Energy to turn their enemies good, which the Power Rangers planned on placing in the Moon Palace and detonating remotely.

The device ended up malfunctioning from damage it sustained when Tommy fell on it during a fight with Rita Repulsa when she discovered him and Kimberly trying to plant it in her bedroom. With little time before the enemy forces overpowered the other Rangers, Tommy stayed behind and detonated the device with an emergency fail safe trigger that had only ten seconds until it activated. Because of a miscalculation made by Billy of the device having power proportionate to the amount of dark energy it was exposed to and the numerous enemies in the area who had that energy, plus the damage to its casing, the device ended up acting more akin to a nuclear bomb than a purification wave. The resulting explosion presumably killed every Evil Space Alien and claimed the life of Tommy Oliver in an act of sacrifice to save the world, while a large chunk of the Moon was shattered and broken off or outright obliterated leaving a large gaping hole on its surface that was visible from the Earth.Comicicon COMIC STORY- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return Issue 2

In Super Sentai[]

Kyutama[]

The two-sided Hikari Kyutama (ヒカリキュータマ Hikari Kyūtama, lit. Shining Nine Ball) allows one of the Kyurangers to channel the power of either the Moon or the Sun. In the case of the former, he can use the Moon's power to enhance Ookami Blue.
