- Monster Roselinka was designed by character designer Muneo Kubo.
- "I like roses as a motif for monsters, so when I hear the word "rose monster," I get into the mood and design a female monster (laughs). I designed the costumes to take advantage of the style of Mariko Jun, who plays the role of the monster, but I remember the film crew telling me, "It's sometimes hard to take pictures of the monster when it's alive, because it's so painful.” (Kubo)
