This article is about a monster creator in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. |
The Monster-Matic was a machine that Finster used to create monsters and foot soldiers for Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd at the Moon Palace.
History[]
The Monster-Matic was invented over 10,000 years ago to combat Zordon and his forces but is abandoned for thousands of years after the Evil Space Aliens are sealed inside a dumpster. When they re-occupy the Moon Palace in 1993, Finster uses the Monster-Matic to create some Putty Patrollers to help Goldar conquer the Earth. However, the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers destroy them. TV STORY-Day of the Dumpster
Desperate to impress Rita, Squatt and Baboo sneak into Finster's workshop whilst she is asleep and the Monster Maker oddly absent. They combine random clay and sculpt it to feed into the Monster-Matic which creates Shellshock but he is soon destroyed anyway. TV STORY-The Trouble with Shellshock
The Monster-Matic is used to turn recently mined Super Putty into nearly indestructible Super Putty Patrollers but the Thunder Slingers vaporize them. TV STORY-Gung Ho!
The Monster-Matic is rendered obsolete when Lord Zedd returns to the Moon Palace, banishes Rita and assumes command as he can create his own monsters and foot soldiers himself. As such, Finster and his Monster-Matic stay alone in the workshop for several months with no purpose. TV STORY-The Mutiny
The Monster-Matic is used to re-create an army of past monsters for Rita and Zedd's wedding. He recreated Rita's monsters Grumble Bee, Eye Guy, Soccadillo, Peckster, Rhinoblaster, Dramole, and Snizzard as well as recreating Zedd's monsters Robogoat, Saliguana, and Invenusable Flytrap. Its fate after the Machine Empire destroy the Moon Palace is unknown but it can be presumed to have been destroyed given much of the building is gutted by the Quadrafighters. TV STORY-A Zeo Beginning
Even if it survived, it was almost certainly destroyed by Zordon's Energy Wave as it was a weapon used exclusively for evil. TV STORY-Countdown to Destruction
Thirty years later, Finster re-emerges without his Monster-Matic and mostly unable to create sentient sculptures which all but confirms its destruction. COMIC STORY- Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon
Function[]
Finster loaded a clay model into the machine and chose the settings for how to transform it into a living being and pulled a starting lever to activate the machine. The machine would then blow a steam whistle repeatedly as the clay model was infused with life and sent out the tube on the other end in an explosion. If anything was put through with the clay model, it became a part of the creature as seen when Shellshock was created by Baboo and Squatt.
