This article is about an episode in Power Rangers Dino Fury. |
Missing Pieces[2] is the third episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2, and the twenty-fifth episode overall. It is the first part to a two-part story concluding Void Knight's primary objective of reviving his love, Santaura by collecting the final Sporix he needs. It marks the first appearance of the Light Battle Armor.
Synopsis[]
Slyther places a magic spell on the Rangers, removing their recent memories and replacing them with false ones. When Solon brings up events that the teens can't remember, they start to wonder if she's the one who's losing her mind.
Plot[]
At Area 62, Void Knight repairs Wreckmate after the latter's loss against Zayto's Dino Fury Cycle. Once the repairs are complete, a Sporix Beast teleports into the lair and introduces himself as Occulo. He says he saw the Sporix Cells inside Void Knight's machine miles away and claims he could see anything with his vision. Occulo proves this by correctly guessing the number of fingers Slyther had behind his back. Impressed by this ability, Void Knight recruits Occulo to help find the remaining Sporix in Pine Ridge. Wreckmate brings up the potential of the Rangers interfering with them, but Slyther has a plan. He found a magical amulet in the basement and says it could erase the Rangers' memories and replace them with fake ones. Void Knight is happy about this because, with the amulet, they could keep the Rangers from interfering Occulo's hunt and bring his machine to full power.
Days later, Ollie upgrades Solon's system while the others look at the star map in Zayto and Aiyon's quest to find Rafkon. They know that if they could find the three suns, they would discover Rafkon and see if anyone survived. However, because the data of Rafkon is 65 million years old, there's a good chance the planet moved from its original orbit. Fortunately, Zayto says that Solon left them coordinates before her update to pinpoint where Rakfon was originally located. Amelia complains about a sore shoulder and believes the neighbor put a curse on her for cutting through her backyard. Aiyon tries to use the Light Dino Key to dispel the curse, but Amelia still feels sore, meaning it's physical pain. Afterwards, Javi suggests using the Cosmic Dino Key to make a portal to Rafkon once they find it, just as Solon wakes up from her update. She says she made a mistake on her original calculations and looks at the math again.
Later that day, Izzy and Javi get a call from Solon about a Sporix sighting. They find the Sporix around the corner, but Occulo and Slyther get to it first and put it with their collection. The Garcia siblings morph and attack Occulo, but the Sporix Beast overpowers them. Javi uses the Flare Dino Key to blind Occulo, but the latter dodges Izzy's sneak attack due to having eyes on his back. The other Rangers arrive to help them and prepare to stop Occulo from collecting more Sporix. However, Slyther uses the magical amulet to erase the Rangers' memories and replaces them with finding a juicy green pickle. The evil trio teleports away as the Rangers awake from their daze. However, their memories were successfully altered by Slyther as Aiyon complained about finding a pickle instead of a Sporix. Just then, Solon calls Zayto and tells him that she found the three suns.
Returning to Dinohenge, the Rangers tell Solon of what they thought they saw, and Solon notes how there have been many false alarms of Sporix sightings. Solon starts to suspect that someone might be tampering with the Rangers' memories, but they dismiss it as Zayto shows her the fake memory through his retrocognition. Still, Solon is not convinced because memories can be faulty and suggest they review newsfeeds of Ranger battles to confirm the memory. However, Aiyon reminds Solon how she gave them the wrong coordinates to Rafkon earlier and thinks the update did not fix her. Solon admits her original coordinates were wrong, but she is confident that the new ones are where the three suns are located. Solon shows them the map to prove it, and they see the three suns. Zayto decides to go out to the coordinates by himself, telling the others to review the news as per Solon's suggestion. Even though Solon suggests holding off on the trip and helping the other Rangers, Zayto says he has waited enough to find the answers to what happened to Rafkon finally.
Solon reluctantly allows Zayto to go as he forms the T-Rex Cosmic Megazord. Zayto activates a portal and travels to Solon's coordinates on the three suns. Zayto finds the three suns when he gets there, but not Rafkon. To make sure he is at the right location, Zayto scans any nearby communications. He manages to find a signal from a message beacon and finds that it has a familiar sound. So, Zayto goes to get the beacon.
Back on Earth, Amelia's shoulder flares up again and she finds a BuzzBlast video on massages. The video shows Jane and J-Borg focusing on massages, including an off-site segment of the two visiting a spa. The video includes a battle of the Rangers fighting against Occulo, which included Amelia getting flung to a nearby wall and injuring her shoulder. The Rangers realize that Solon was right about the memory alterations, but before they can research what happened in the fight, the Ranger Hotline goes off. Occulo is back, and the Rangers know that they must stop him. However, with the Light Dino Key in Zayto's possession, they are going in defenseless from any magic attack Slyther might use. Javi tells Solon to contact Zayto and bring him back to Earth.
Occulo continues to look for more Sporix with Slyther and Mucus, though he believes they captured most of them by now. The Rangers confront the trio and morph, forcing Slyther to summon the Hengemen. During the fight, Occulo knocks the Rangers down with an attack, and Slyther uses the opportunity to use the magical amulet to alter their memories. Suddenly, Zayto arrives on the Dino Fury Cycle and blasts Slyther with the Plasma Blast, destroying the amulet. Then, Zayto activates the Light Armor and uses the Light Fury Blast to break the spell and return the Rangers' memories to normal. The fight resumes as the Rangers take on the Hengemen and Occulo. Using a combination of the Slick and Flare Dino Keys, Ollie and Javi manage to blind Occulo on all corners of his body. With Occulo blinded, the Rangers attack him and prepare for a Dino Fury Force attack. However, Void Knight arrives and attacks them from behind, interrupting the attack. Void Knight says he is sick of the Rangers interfering with his plans and decides to handle them himself. Void Knight overwhelms the Rangers despite the numerical disadvantage and shocks them down to the ground. Afterwards, Void Knight and his minions go back to Area 62 with the Sporix they gathered.
Void Knight is pleased with the haul of Sporix Occulo gathered and believes this will be enough to charge his machine to full power. However, even with the amount of Sporix, it is still not enough to charge the machine. This frustrates Void Knight and demands that he gets more power immediately. Back at Dinohenge, Solon is relieved to see everyone back safe and sound. However, the Rangers are not happy that Occulo is still around, and Void Knight has made off with a lot of Sporix. Also, they are ashamed that they did not believe Solon's suggestion earlier about the memory alteration and apologize to her. Solon forgives them, and Aiyon asks Zayto what he found on his trip. Zayto says that Solon's coordinates were correct, but all he found in Rafkon’s place was the beacon. He plays it for the Rangers, and it emits the same garbled noise that Amelia and Ollie recognize. Recalling how the beacon played the same message months ago, Ollie turns on the commlink and the soundwave matches with the beacon's soundwave. They realize that they are part of a puzzle as parts of the message start to become clearer, with Rafkon mentioned a few times. The Rangers realize there could be more out there and know they must find them to discover the truth about Rafkon.
