In 2016, Bandai introduced the Super Minipla (スーパーミニプラ Sūpā Minipla) line that featured high-grade model kits targeted at adult collectors.[2] Super Minipla models are still packaged in multiple boxes and include a piece of Ramune candy just like the standard Minipla kits. The box art is designed to reflect the look of the original DX packaging. The Super Minipla sets feature models from the start of the Super Sentai franchise to just before the 2000s series, plus some upgraded versions of earlier kits. The kits also use less stickers and feature more painted and molded details, plus higher complexity and a more staggered release schedule and theme.

Aside from the Super Sentai series, the Super Minipla line also includes model kits for Super Robot series, such as the Brave series, and Denkou Choujin GridmanIcon-crosswiki, plus many others.
