Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #51 is the fifty-second actual issue of the Boom! Studios comic book series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers which begins its numbering with Issue 0.
This is the first issue of the concluding arc of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This issue sets up the Unlimited Power story arc and the debut of two new series, Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers.
Synopsis[]
[SPOILER] has returned...and the ripple effects send shockwaves through every Power Ranger! Now the fragile alliance between the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS and OMEGA RANGERS may be permanently...shattered.[1]
Plot[]
Drakkon returns and is defeated after a battle with the Power Rangers. Lord Zedd returns and recruits Goldar, Finster, Squatt and Babboo again, who were in hiding on Earth up until now. The Rangers and Zordon discuss what to do with Drakkon and imprison him at the Commanded Center. At school, Kimberly learns that her ex-boyfriend Matt and Rocky are old friends.
Tommy takes over teaching Jason's former class at the Juice Bar and admits to Aisha he is very tense about Drakkon's sudden return. Drakkon taunts Billy at the Command Center about where he has been all this time. Bulk hangs out with Skull and his new girlfriend Candice and are attacked by a new monster called Psychoslug who the Rangers easily defeat.
This is all revealed to be a plot from Lord Zedd, who needed Psychoslug defeated in order to obtain the Green Chaos crystal. With this, Zedd transforms Goldar, Finster, Squatt and Babboo into his new team of Dark Rangers!

- The Power Rangers originally fought the Dark Rangers in the Season 2 episode called "Dark Rangers", where he transforms new bullies from Angel Grove High into Dark Rangers using the crystal.
