Plot[]
In a flashback to the World of Coinless before the Shattered Grid event, Lord Drakkon looks over his domain of Angel Grove from his palace. The Ranger Slayer returns to the palace with a report that she found a Coinless encampment with an assault team and there were no survivors. Drakkon is pleased, scoffing that no matter what the rebels try they will never win. He praises Kimberly, stating he could not have picked a better candidate to be his Ranger Slayer. The enslaved Kimberly responds that she lives to serve her lord and his will is her command, but Drakkon asks if she will be his equal when asked by her for new orders.. only to be met by her blank soulless staring. Disappointed, Drakkon says to never mind his request as he already got his answer and walks away.
Inside the Grid in the present, Lord Drakkon is deep in thought as he walks through the construct of the slums where Rita found him again and gave him his name. He narrates that he is complicated and that people have called him a despot, a murderer, a king and a god. In truth he has been all of these things and if given the chance, he would be all of them again but supposes that he has run out of chances. He comes upon an infected part of the Grid and is unable to move forward, asking the person stalking him if she has any suggestions, with the infected Ranger Slayer kicking him into the corruption in the hopes of turning him into a servant of Dark Specter.
Drakkon breaks free from the infected sludge unaffected, realizing that the White Tiger Power Coin that makes up half of his powers makes him immune because it was forged from the White Light of all the good in the universe so Zordon designed it to be incorruptible. He mocks her efforts stating that some people are just not meant for servitude.
Meanwhile at Safehaven’s Eternity Point, the Rangers are struggling to get to the Master Arch and are overwhelmed by infected Rangers and Dark Specter’s forces. Taylor feels bad about attacking her infected Wild Force teammates, apologizing to Alyssa after giving her a hard kick to the head and sending her flying. Kiya and Scorpina are trying to hold back the Dino Charge Rangers and wonder about Drakkon, who abandoned them to go into the Arch. Scorpina isn’t surprised by this but Kiya is furious. Alpha 1 gets under the skin of Trini and Zack after a comment about his new upgrade with XI’s parts being far more advanced than his own, with Trini promising to get XI back and turn Alpha 1 into their personal garbage disposal when they get done with him.
Back on Earth, Billy is in the Command Center and is finishing the uplink of a remote and charging it. He orders Kimberly to command a retreat for the Safehaven team, but Mistress Vile and Dark Specter block their path. Kimberly orders a “Plan C” and Billy says in that case the team needs to stay together and close to each other for it to work. Coinless Trini almost engages Dark Specter in a fight, but Scorpina urges her to leave and they can have revenge later. Everyone runs for their lives as Mistress Vile orders her forces to capture them, only for a teleportation beam to activate and the Safehaven team escapes. Billy is elated that the new teleportation system works and Kendall says that of course it does because it runs on Energem power. Phantom Ranger asks if everyone made it but upon a head count, Aisha realizes not everyone did make it out.
Back on Safehaven, Kiya finds the Master Arch and and activates a bomb that destroys it.
Inside the Morphin Grid, Drakkon is getting exhausted from his long battle against the Ranger Slayer. As he gets pummeled, he thinks that maybe it was a mistake to have created her in the first place. He genuinely loved her, at least as much as he was capable of showing such an emotion and that made him weaker, remarking that he should have killed her.
The infected Kimberly agrees, but he didn’t kill her. She asks about the significance of the construct that the Grid made, to which Drakkon says it is where he was truly born, the place that Rita Repulsa gave him his title. Kimberly mocks how touching that is, remembering when he gave her the title of Ranger Slayer. Drakkon says that she always served him well, but Dark Specter’s influence amplifies her resentment towards him, stating even that wasn’t good enough for him because he wanted more and to force her to love him. If he truly cared about her, he would have been merciful and granted her a quick death, instead he made her a slave whose very mind wasn’t even free and then she shoots at Drakkon. He dodges it and lands on the ground, asking her if that is true then is she truly better off now. Kimberly says that Dark Specter only wants her servitude, not love. Drakkon puts his helmet on and says that in that case he will set her free as he readies his Dragon Dagger and Saba.
Back on Safehaven, Mistress Vile is being abused by Dark Specter as she curls into a fetal position upon being thrown to the ground. He calls her an imbecile for failing to capture the Rangers and letting them escape, having the Master Arch be destroyed and allowing them to invade his domain, almost mentally breaking her when he wonders if she is of any use to him at all.
Mistress Vile then regains her composure and says that he doesn’t need an Arch as she will be his conduit to enter the Grid using the energy infused into her when she was a child to create portals into it. She gives him a staff infused with that same energy signature to make Dark Specter act as an Arch. She states that he grows stronger by the day with every Ranger he infects and there are so many Rangers that he has yet to control. Dark Specter takes and then uses the staff to tear open the Grid. Across the universe, different events take place. An agitated Lord Zedd is fighting the HyperForce Rangers, Alpha 1 has taken Coinless Bulk, Scorpina and Yale prisoners to later be infected by his master, the two Trinis hug each other with Omega Ranger Trini promising they will get their friends back while Kimberly screams in rage and anguish over their dire situation.
Back at the fight between Drakkon and the Ranger Slayer, he demands that she stop fighting him and offers to help her, she did not deserve to be in a cage. Kimberly headbutts him and shatters his visor in response, remarking that it was by his design that she had no freedom, that is her purpose thanks to him and Dark Specter. He admits that may be true, but he has a different will now and prepares a final strike. He refrains his thoughts about his life and how he would not change himself and even if he could, he is all out of chances. He throws the Dragon Dagger at Kimberly as she fires an arrow at close range, which impales Drakkon through the heart while the Dagger, which has the White Tiger coin placed inside it, stabs Kimberly in the shoulder with the White Light energy purging her infection and freeing her. Kimberly is confused and then shocked that she has fatally wounded Drakkon. Drakkon is impressed that his plan really worked and he has set her free. Kimberly wonders why he would do that and he gives her the White Tiger coin.
He says his gift of freedom and the coin has conditional requirements, that being she must obey one last order from him to find the Morphin Masters and save the universe. He pleads with his dying breath for Kimberly to ensure that Dark Specter and his forces do not win as he passes away. Kimberly is unsure how to feel about this tragedy, but the Power Coin in her hand shines in a bright light as she examines it…
