Still reeling from the revelation of the New Green Ranger’s true identity, the New Mighty Morphin team must join with former Ranger Grace Sterling to save Angel Grove from a new threat tied to Zordon’s surprising past. But nothing could prepare the Rangers for the two people who stand in their way…[1]
Plot[]
Over ten thousand years ago on Earth's moon, Zordon and Zartus are fighting Hartunians, with the latter helping the former when he was compromised. Zordon then inform Zophram that they have beaten the Hartunians. Zophram order the two guardians to investigate the moon. While searching, Zordon talked to Zartus about his promotion trying to explain that he failed to convince Zophram to allow Zartus as Chief Guardian. Zartus admitted that he was disappointed that he didn't receive the title but he has faith that Zophram had a reason to choose Zordon so he'll be his backup, though Zartus then made sure Zordon didn't tell Zophram on how the former felt. The two then stumbled across Bandora Palace.
Outside Angel Grove, the Power Rangers are battling the Chaos Putties, when they finished clearing the area, General Nolan ordered the military soldiers to target the energy shield using their powered truck only for it to have no effect on it. Before they can fire again, they are attacked by the winged Putties and they destroyed the vehicle, the soldiers retreated and the Rangers are forced to do the same.
At the Command Center, Billy pleaded with General Nolan to give them more time but Nolan replied that it had been twenty-three days, and they have barely made any progress, so the chiefs are discussing nuclear weapons as an option. Billy protested as innocents will die if the nuclear option is used. Nolan says that the President will not allow hostile aliens to stay on Earth, Zordon reassures him that the Power Ranger will protect Angel Grove at all cost. Nolan will report to the President about this but he won't be happy about it. Nolan states he will organize an evacuation in 36 hours so the Rangers will need to destroy the energy shield before then. The Rangers are shocked about the nuclear strike option as their families will die, Zordon promise them that it won't happen and then asks Zelya and Billy for assistance while the rest of them get some rest.
In his bedroom, Rocky noticed that the bottle caps he was saving were gone, he explained that his sister Riley is collecting bottle caps for her project. Rocky is then distressed and homesick as his family won't survive if they fail. Tommy has faith that their families will survive. Aisha is unconvinced, believing that Lord Zedd knows their identity and is targeting their relatives. Tommy convinced the team that jumping to conclusions would get them nowhere so they need to keep themselves focus physically, and mentally. This made Rocky feel better and Adam help the former look for his bottle caps.
At the center, while Zeyla and Billy are working on the project, the former reveals facts about Eltar: The Guardians of Eltar supervised other planets by disguising themselves and learn about their cultures. They usually reveal themselves on planets whose species are advanced so they were planning on doing revealing themselves on Earth as they had seen most advanced technology. Zelya had been on Eltar last year as her sister had gave birth. The Eltarians still celebrate the Festival of Life. Zordon sadly expressed that anyone he knew is long dead but Zeyla revealed that Zartus is still alive and had been Supreme Guardian for countless decades. The Eltarians had discovered a way to slow down their growth, and made achievements in Eltar; the large buildings, plants that provide food and energy, and floating continents all over the planet making Eltar a paradise. Alpha 5 suddenly interrupted the conversation revealing he found a way break the energy shield.
Outside the Command Center, Tommy and Kimberly are jogging outside with the former trying to figure out how to get backup without their Zords, Kimberly told him to choose another topic and he already had one with Matthew Cook. Kimberly explained that she had no idea that he was the new Green Ranger and Tom doubts her claims. Before the argument can continue, Billy told the two to go inside as he uncovered the message from Grace, saying that she found a way to disrupt the shield but only briefly though the message was scrambled. The Rangers doubt her claims as it could be a trap. Zordon concurs but they have no choice. Billy will remain behind to help him uncover the energy shield's weakness while the rest of them and Zelya go near the shield.
When they arrived, Alpha warned them about the Chaos Putties. Zelya changed into her guardian form and helped the Rangers hold off the Putties. After minutes have passed, the shield opened and the Rangers went through. When they finally arrived inside the shield, they were surprised to see that the city was intact after all those weeks. Tommy suggested to recon as Zedd probably knew that they escaped. Kimberly tried to report to Zordon of their current status, but he couldn't clearly receive her transmission. Adam noticed that something was very wrong with the city but Goldar disagreed with Matt telling the Rangers to stand down and they won't get hurt.
