Mighty Morphin #3 is the third issue of the ongoing Boom! Studios comic book series, Mighty Morphin. This issue continues the Unlimited Power story event and is a continuation of Power Rangers #2 and the previous Mighty Morphin #2.
Synopsis[]
Two New Series. Two New Teams. The UNLIMITED POWER ERA continues with a shocking betrayal by a member of the Mighty Morphin team... but WHY? With the Mighty Morphin team in disarray, Lord Zedd makes his deadliest attack yet -- and no one is ready for what he's got planned![1]
Plot[]
Ten thousand years ago, in the planet Bivix, Zordon and Zartus was wandering through when the former was getting nervous when the Bivix natives are looking at him, Zartus decided to go inside so that Zordon can calm down. Zartus revealed his father and grandfather has been guardians, having to continue their legacy needing to be promoted to Supreme Guardian. So Zartus wanted to enjoy peaceful planets before an dangerous event occur. Zordon then expressed his desire to return to Eltar with his family after his time as Guardian has come. Having been a servant, rather than a warrior and doesn't want that to be his destiny.
Back in Angel Grove, the Rangers are having trouble with the Putty Patrollers, with the Prime Putty targeting Adam tampering with his vision. The Green Ranger is having trouble with Chaos Putties, until Billy helped him teleport back to Promethea, unaware that Aisha witnessed the scene. The other Rangers are still battling the Chaos Putties until Adam shot Tommy Oliver in the back with his Power Axe. Billy warn the Rangers that his visual input has been controlled by Zedd, so Aisha kicked him at the back of his head to knock him out, so they can teleport back into the Command Center, much to Zedd's pleasure, who orders the Prime Putty to combine with the others.
In the Command Center, the Rock and Billy escorted Adam to the medical bay so they can remove the Chaos energy from Adam, while Kimberly and Tommy were discussing with Zordon about the Putties enhancement before Alpha 5 interrupted them, having finally figured out where the Green Ranger's whereabouts.
At the Promethea, Grace Sterling and her workers tried to heal the Green Ranger so that he can be back in shape before Zordon appeared, demanding for the Dragon Power Coin. Grace explained that she took it because she wanted give humanity their own protection, and now wanting to work with him because of the current threat that's now happening. Zordon then agree to this before warning Grace to return the Power Coin or the Rangers will get it back by force. But Grace shrugged it off. wanting to save the discussion for later.
Back in the streets, Bulk, Skull, and Candice ran to an alley, where Skull got knocked out by a Chaos Putty. Bulk prepared to fight it before Candice threw a trash can at the putty, knocking it out. With Candice suggesting to stat hidden and hope the Power Rangers shows up.
Back in the Command Center, Billy successfully removed the Chaos Energy within Adam, when Aisha appeared demanding the truth about the Green Ranger. Billy tried to explained that he was only trying to help the other Rangers with this and was going to report it to Zordon about this, and he will in order to fix his mistakes. After the conversation, Adam woke up.
On the Moon, Lord Zedd used his Staff to combine the Putties into a Big Putty to lure the Rangers out of hiding. The plan worked and the Rangers call their Thunderzords, ready to battle the Giant Putty.
