Mighty Morphin #2 is the second issue of the ongoing Boom! Studios comic book series, Mighty Morphin. This issue continues the Unlimited Power story event and is a continuation of Mighty Morphin #1 and the previous Power Rangers #1. This issue features the debut of the Chaos Putties.
Synopsis[]
Two New Series. Two New Teams. The UNLIMITED POWER ERA continues as shocking secrets of The New Green Ranger are revealed! * Zordon enlists Billy's help as the Mighty Morphin team deals with a shocking betrayal by the Power Rangers team. * As the Mighty Morphin team remains fractured, Zedd launches his latest attack - and only The New Green Ranger stands in his way. * But none of them realize they've walked into a trap, courtesy of Zedd's new powers![1]
Plot[]
On Eltar 10,000 years ago, Zophram stands before the Elders of Eltar, getting promoted as the Supreme Guardian, Zophram requested the Elders to expand Eltar's forces for planets that were defenseless and primitive. The Elders stated they cannot interfere with the planets evolution. Zophram told them that Dark Spector will ignore this law, and that he must stop him to inspire hope to the planets. The Elders were aware that Zophram will go into the darkness first and had faith that he would not succumb to it.
At the Command Center, Billy finished repairing Alpha 5, with Kimberly trying to reason with Zordon about the Omega Rangers decision, but Zordon will not tolerate it. While he's thankful Billy helped repaired Alpha, he needed to make sure that when he's complete, he wants Billy to modify their communication array to send a message to every planet in every system to capture the Omega Rangers and Lord Drakkon as they are considered a threat to the universe. When Drakkon is captured, he'll return back to his cells, and when the Omega Rangers are captured, he'll take their Morphers.
At the Angel Grove High School, the other Rangers are discussing about the Omega Ranger's action, debating whether it was justified. While Skull train with a training dummy, wondering if Candice really loves him. Bulk reassuring him that she does. On the Moon Finster finished creating the Chaos Putties, with Zedd modifying it.
At the festival, the Rangers are having a blast, until Candice came back looking paranoid at the people around her. Rocky tried talk to her but Bulk accused him of dating her. Before the argument can escalate, a Chaos Putty attack the festival. The Rangers quickly morphed to take it out. But it proved too strong for them. The Green Ranger then appeared to attack the putty, but he was overpowered. The Rangers tried to shoot it, but it was too agile for them. On the moon, while Zedd's minions were watching, Zedd enacted his next plan by having the Chaos Putties shed their disguises. That's when the Rangers realized that it was an ambush.
