Michiko Makino (牧野 美千子 Makino Michiko) played Hikaru Katsuragi (Pink Five) in Chodenshi Bioman.
Prior to her role as Hikaru Katsuragi, Michiko is one of the popular cover girls in a fashion magazine during her college days and was strictly forbade by her strict parents who worked as prosecuted lawyers, leading her to break their punishment by sneaking to work until they accepted her job as an actress in playing Hikaru Katsuragi in Chodenshi Bioman when it was gained popularity. However after her role in the Sentai series, Michiko was given more roles like singing and hosting but was opposed by her strict parents when she was given mature roles in acting and as a result, Michiko had quitted showbiz at the age of 25. She later marries Suwa as her husband and having a family of her own with three children and her name had changed to Michiko Suwa (nee Makino). Michiko also owns a seafood store business with her husband in the Tsukiji district at Tokyo and was frequently visited by the Bioman fans and fellow retired Sentai actresses such as Sumiko Tanaka, Yuki Nagata from Hikari Sentai Maskman and Rika Kishida from Chojin Sentai Jetman. Michiko is also became one of the Sentai guests in every charity events such as TokuSpirits and always reunited with fellow Bioman casts. Her most favorite destination during her recent travels is in the Philippines where she had lots of fans during the charity and conventions she had participated and was also seen with the Bioman casts, singing their main opening song performed by Takayuki Miyauchi for the Filipino fans.
Archive footage of her as Hikaru/Pink Five was used in Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai.
In 2019, she was one of four Sentai actresses who made a cameo as a customer in the finale of Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger, Number 51: I'm Sure I'll See You Again.
In 2022, Michiko commented on the passing of her fellow Bioman cast mate Strong Kongō, who played Monster.[1][2]
