Colonel Mason Truman is a military officer in charge of all the defense of Corinth City and is the father of the RPM Red Ranger, Scott in Power Rangers RPM.
History[]
RPM[]
Colonel Truman was in charge of the final battle against the attacking Venjix Virus Computer Network forces just before almost everyone managed to escape into the city. He had his two sons fighting in the Air Support division during the battle for Corinth though it was clear he held a lot more faith in his older son Marcus, to the point of asking Scott to try to stay out of his brother's way when they went into combat. Unfortunately, during the battle, only Scott survived. TV STORY-Ranger Red
The Colonel was a very tough-as-nails kind of guy and did not show emotion. While keeping Corinth City safe, he also remains in contact with Doctor K so that the RPM team can protect the city as well. He also was involved with a project that created a special, though outdated looking trailer vehicle, known as Project Go-Onger (an interesting nod to the Sentai series that RPM sourced footage from) that supposedly was built for exploration purposes, and had attack and defense capabilities. According to Scott, it is Mason's most favorite possession in the world.
Throughout the conflict against Venjix, Truman and his son Scott often argue about the correct approach to take. The most constant argument would be that while Scott wanted to go on the offensive to end the Venjix threat, the Colonel wanted to remain in a defensive position and just protect the City from any threats that make it past the shield. Soon after Dillon becomes 51% Venjix robot and Scott and the Colonel again have this argument, Corporal Hicks attacks the Trumans. After they subdue him, they discover that not only is he 53% Venjix robot, but a large portion of the city's inhabitants are too. The Colonel acknowledges that his decision to play defense against Scott's advice is what caused this and asks Scott to decide what to do next. Scott asks him to assemble every soldier in Corinth's defense force that isn't infected in one hour. Although the Colonel leaves to do so, Venjix launches the final strike before he can, leading to his capture along with most of his troops.
Following the end of the war, while continuing to lead his troops, Mason decides to give Scott the leadership position in Eagle Squad.
Beast Morphers[]
Twelve years later, Colonel Truman traveled to the prime dimension, where he introduced himself to Devon Daniels (who had just become the new commander of Grid Battleforce) and told Devon that he and his team caught Scrozzle hiding in the sewers of Corinth. After this he left and presumably returned to his dimension, leaving Scrozzle to be imprisoned by the Grid Battleforce Guardians. TV STORY-Evox Unleashed

Notes[]
- Along with Doctor K, Mason is one of the leaders of Corinth; he allows her authority due to her Ranger gear providing better armaments for an elite squad.
- Mason is incredibly stubborn. Even when told his methods are wrong and what Venjix wants him to do. This has him also clash with Doctor K on crucial decisions.
- In fact she had to subtly threaten to drug his coffee with strong laxatives if he didn't sacrifice some of the dome's power to boost the transmission to give a warning to the Rangers.
- He hates being called "Buddy" by Scrozzle. TV STORY-Evox Unleashed
