Mashin Sentai Kiramager: Episode ZERO (
Synopsis[]
Fleeing from the invasion of her homeworld, Princess Mabushina recruits four warriors to become the Mashin Sentai Kiramager.
Plot[]
The Crystaria Kingdom is a land of beautiful jewels ruled by King Oradin. However, with the guidance of Oradin's younger brother, the Demonic General of Betrayal Galza, the Dark Corps Yodon, led by the Mask of Darkness Carantula, invades the country, crushing the king and destroying the country. The surviving Princess Mabushina of Crystaria, along with Crystaria's secret treasures, the Kiramai Stones, travels to Earth, the next target of the Yodon Army, to meet Muryou Hakataminami. Hakataminami, a supervisor of CARAT, has developed the Kiramai Changers, in preparation for Yodon's invasion of the Earth. Mabushina decides to use the Kiramai Stones to search for warriors who have strong Kiramental.
With the help of the Kiramai Stones, Mabushina scouts the Esports star Tametomo Imizu, who is the number 1 player in the shooting games section, the athlete Sena Hayami, who holds Japanese records that have made her a name in national athletics competitions, the popular action star Shiguru Oshikiri, who is 5th dan in kendo, and Sayo Oharu, the genius surgeon who is a master of Aikido.
After the team has assembled in their new headquarters, they are informed that the Yodon Army is attacking. Heading downstairs to the car park, the four of them transform into the Kiramagers for the first time, and defeat the attackers. However, it is revealed that this was all a hologram set up by Hakataminami, in order to allow them to train with their new powers.
While this is going on, Mashin Fire has been continuing his search for a potential Kiramai Red. This search leads him to Hikarigamine High School, where an enthusiastic young man called Juru Atsuta has been sketching a portrait of his classmate.

Notes[]
- This is the first time a Super Sentai team has been introduced in one of their own movies instead of a televised episode or a movie of another series.
- This film was originally intended as the first episode of Kiramager. It became a short film when the producers decided they could not edit the material to a standard episode length.[3] This short film would air on television as the first special in a five-week hiatus due to COVID-19 between episodes 10 and 11, cut down from its theatrical length due to it being 28 minutes compared to a regular episode's 23 minutes.
- Episode ZERO premiered on the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club (TTFC) on February 29th, eight days before episode 1 aired on television. It was listed separate from the Kiramager series with the subtitle TTFC Fastest Ver. When Ryusoulger VS Lupinranger VS Patranger was added on June 24th, Episode ZERO was moved to Kiramager's series page, lost the TTFC Fastest Ver moniker, and included the ending dance with the Kiramagers, Ryusoulgers, Lupinrangers, Patrangers, and Pretty Cures shown in trailers for the film.
- The shorter version of Episode ZERO that aired the week after episode 10 was never added to TTFC, with a TTFC news story about the planned airing tell subscribers to watch the regular version (TTFC Fastest Ver, as it was before June 24th).
- The international airings for Kiramager in Hong Kong and Taiwan would air this as the first episode.

- ↑ "Prequel" is an inaccurate term to describe this film's relationship to the series: rather than being the opposite of a sequel, a prequel is a type of sequel and meant to refer to a derivative that is released after the main work but whose story takes place before. To have been a prequel (as a previous edit of this note called it), Episode ZERO would've had to have been released AFTER episode 1 of Kiramager. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prequel#Usage
