Markon "Mark" Zhao is the Prime Blue Ranger of the Prime Rangers.
He is a half-Aquitian refugee on Earth that goes to Angel Grove University and is roommates with Orion.

Young Mark
Mark was born on Aquitar after his mother was rescued while adrift in space. In 2010, the Beast Brigade attacked Aquitar and its capital city, Analis. He then came to Earth as a refugee at the age of 6 after his homeworld was destroyed which he says he doesn't remember much of.

Four years ago, a quarterly gala check-in is held at the Eltarian Consulate in Angel Grove as Admiral Janessa and Junmor converse with the mayor and Valentina. Mark and Orion are working as servers but get into a confrontation with one of the guests Korpius over their refugee status. Valentina notices and makes the save to defuse the situation.

Two years ago, Professor Barall gives Mark a tour around the Angel Grove Natural History Museum after he was accepted into the internship program. She gives him his intern badge granting him special visiting hours for his research project and shows him to their labs as he joins Orion as interns at the museum.

Eighteen months ago, a hooded figure leaves a dog named Doobie in an alleyway in Angel Grove while running away from pursuers. Mark finds and rescues him from a dumpster as both he and Orion adopt him.

Six months ago, Orion and Mark are working on TeeZee, a sentient miniature Red Tyrannosaurus Zordling in the Museum Robotics Lab as an explosion goes off. It emerges from a hole in the wall created by the blast carrying a damaged blade. They later introduce Doobie to TeeZee, telling him how they experimented using Morphin Grid energy as a power source to awaken it. However, they had to power it off since it kept escaping the museum and decided to keep it at their apartment for safekeeping.

First Arc[]
One night taking out the trash, he finds Lauren Shiba in the dumpster and is approached by the Earth Security Taskforce, asking him to identify himself which he gives his refugee Number, which is 082893 and they then asked him about his business and Lauren Shiba's location, he tells them he was taking out the trash and lies about seeing her and then takes her to his dorm. Later, Mark runs into his classmate Jun as the EST converge on the Angel Grove University dorms to capture Lauren. A space dumpster launches from the Moon and crash lands nearby carrying Rita Repulsa.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #1
Jun agrees to shelter Lauren in his apartment from the Earth Security Taskforce but his roommate Valentina has trouble accepting her. She calls her boyfriend Ryan Steele and voices her concern for Jun. The VR Troopers receive Rita Repulsa's position from a tracker EST guard Bulk activated, but Ryan makes the decision to pivot from the mission and pursue Lauren Shiba instead.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #2
Mark, Orion, Jun, and Valentina try to help Lauren get her powers back by using Mark and Orion's intern permissions at the Angel Grove Natural History Museum to obtain a Morpher in the lab. However, a run-in with Rita and Bulk leads to a confrontation. The Earth Security Taskforce deploy the VR Troopers at the museum which leads Rita to make Lauren an offer to team up by combining Lauren's powers with her magic. After Lauren agrees, Rita casts a spell using her connection to the Morphin Grid, her Magic Wand and a dinosaur bone fragment from the battle to create a new Tyrannosaurus Power Coin and transform Lauren into the Prime Red Ranger.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #3
The Prime Rangers morph for the first time.
Lauren creates an escape route to allow the others to get out while Captain Kanel leads a group of sentries to their location. The VR Troopers join the battle as Ryan Steele blasts Lauren with his pistol. Orion, Mark, Jun, and Valentina go back to help Lauren as Bulk stays behind and retrieves four colored stones for Rita to use as resources. Rita casts a spell to create four new Power Coins as Jun, Mark, Valentina, and Orion become Power Rangers.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #4
A battle breaks out between members of the Prime Rangers and VR Troopers as others are trying to stop the fighting. Rita creates a T-Rex fossil monster as a distraction and points out to Lauren that her Rangers are not ready. Lauren uses her wrist blade and Rita's Magic Wand to explode the monster, creating a chance for them to escape. Jun and a frustrated Valentina leave on their own to try to fix the situation themselves while Mark is taken captive by VR Ryan to get some answers.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #5
Ryan tries to learn more about the Power Rangers and pries into Mark's past on becoming a refugee on Earth following a Beast Brigade attack on his home planet Aquitar. Mark finds the strength to stand up for himself and morphs into the Prime Blue Ranger, attacking a transformed VR Ryan. He tries to beg off from the fight but Mark doesn't relent until he is tased from behind by JB Reese. He commends Mark's fighting skills and says he'll need that for what's coming.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #6
At the meeting spot, VR Kaitlin and VR J.B. disagree with Ryan's tactics. They go ahead with the plan to swap Mark with Lauren as VR Ryan restrains the Red Ranger. Ryan wanted to hand over only Lauren given she was the only one on the Eltarians' radar. Valentina and Jun disagree with the VR Troopers as the Prime Rangers regroup and all morph and ready for battle. As the fight goes on, VR J.B. unleashes an EMP-like attack, knocking the Prime Rangers out of their Ranger forms. However, the Prime Green Ranger arrives on the scene to shift the balance of the fight.
COMIC STORY- Power Rangers Prime #8
Rita as the Prime Green Ranger takes on the VR Troopers and uses her magic to cast a spell as Bulk and TeeZee look down on the battle on a nearby cliff. Rita's spell makes the Zordling grow into a full-sized Zord as it starts attacking the Troopers. Lauren stops the battle and calls off TeeZee, turning herself in as originally planned in exchange for the safety of the others. Jun later takes Mark home to make sure his apartment is safe after the Taskforce raid earlier.

Prime Animal Spirits
In the Abandoned Chamber, Rita reveals to Orion, Mark, and TeeZee their Prime animal spirits and the gemstones used as the basis for their Ranger powers: Red Jasper Tyrannosaurus, Black Obsidian Basilisk, Blue Sapphire Unicorn, Yellow Tiger's Eye Griffin, Pink Amethyst Velociraptor, and Green Jade Dragon. Rita talks of constructing other Zords that will allow them to win wars just like the Zordling TeeZee. Jun and Valentina arrive at the Abandoned Chamber with Admiral Janessa following behind. Janessa and Rita send the others outside as they have a conversation alone. She asks for Rita's help in sending her husband Volar far away from Earth for Jun's protection, warning her that the Rangers are already in his sights. Commander Volar then arrives at the desert outside of the Abandoned Chamber and challenges Jun, Mark, Valentina, and Orion as they morph and prepare for battle.
