Makoto Jin (神 誠 Jin Makoto) is the second Battle Cossack (バトルコサック Batoru Kosakku) of Battle Fever J, taking Kensaku Shiraishi's place after his tragic death. A silent cowboy, he is a man of action, not words.

History[]
A scientist who trained in the Defense Ministry along with Kensaku. He joined Battle Fever to avenge the death of his friend. Makoto is an expert marksman. He is a loner, preferring to go off by himself. Makoto plays a trumpet to distract Egos.
Past[]
Two years ago, exactly on August 2nd, 1977[note 1], he lost his younger brother, Detective Akira Jin after the latter was shot by Dark General while tracing the kingpin affiliated with Egos.

Battle Fever[]
Jin is first seen as Prof. Mimura's assistant. Later, he is being suspected as a spy of Egos' plan to steal a blueprint for Drill Missile that caused Prof. Mimura's death. He eagers to cleanse his name by finding Egos' base to retrieve the blueprint. Begore that, he left a message to his junior, Kensaku Shiraishi to take care of Prof. Mimura's daughter, Mayumi.
Later, Jin and the Battle Fever team witness Kensaku dying to save Mayumi. After the tragic death, he takes Kensaku's Battle Suit and avenge for his junior as the second Battle Cossack. Eventually, he and the other Battle Fever team succesfully defeat Eagle Monster.
TV STORY-Ep. 33: Cossack Dies for Love
Learning the recent news about an incident involving Killer X gun, General Tetsuzan tells the Battle Fever team that Dark General has been back from Singapore, which lits revenge sense on Jin. After Jin wanders to search for informations, the representatives of Dark General takes him into the kingpin. After the two meet, he tries to shoot Dark General, but the latter is bulletproof. He is then being thrown into a car and ultimately survive. After several treatment at the base, he decides to leave Battle Fever.
Later, after modifying his own gun to be more powerful, Jin decides to find Dark General by himself. After finding the base, he tried to get in, only to get ambushed and facing Death General. As Jin shoots Death General again, the latter is still bulletproof and soon reveals himself as Cicada Killer Monster. As Jin is about to executed by Salomé, the Battle Fever team come to save him and realizing that he is Battle Cossack. After donning Battle Suit, Battle Cossack with his new teammates fight together to defeat Cicada Killer Monster with Penta Force and later the robot brother using Battle Fever Robo (at this point, this is Jin's first time in the robo's cockpit).
Later, Jin is seen visiting Akira's brother's grave. The other Battle Fever team learn that the reason of his trait is that he has another revenge, which is for his younger brother, Detective Akira Jin. They were previously told by General Tetsuzan that "Jin fells he does not belong to the Battle Fever team", the reason he does not want them to be involved.

Years later, Makoto fought alongside not only his own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gomin and their Sugomin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. The Battle Cossack powers are later used by Luka Millfy via the Ranger Keys.

- Makoto Jin is portrayed by Daisuke Ban (伴 大介 Ban Daisuke).
- As Battle Cossack, his suit actor was Hirohumi Koga (古賀 弘文 Koga Hirofumi), with Takanori Shibahara (柴原 孝典 Shibahara Takanori) serving as an understudy.
Design[]
- Battle Cossack wears an orange suit with a black stripe that runs along the side around his arms and legs. His gloves and boots are both orange in color accentuated with a white scarf. He wears a black belt with a metal buckle and the letter "C" on it, which stands for "Cossack". A shield on his chest possesses the "Hammer and Sickle" adopted by the Soviets for their flag (symbolizing the unity of the peasants and workers), representing the number "2". His mask is three pieces: the top is an orange headress with black stripes, beneath is a black mask with two red "eyes" which are similar in form to the masks of Gorenger and J.A.K.Q. Beneath the mask is a rounded triangle in gray with a sculpted nose and mouth.

The Battle Cossack Ranger Key (バトルコサックレンジャーキー Batoru Kosakku Renjā Kī) is Makoto Jin's personal Ranger Key and what became of his powers after he along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.
This key along with the majority of the Ranger Keys were collected by the Red Pirates and later used by the Gokaigers. The Battle Cossack Ranger Key was mainly used by Luka Millfy (Gokai Yellow), who used it to fight as Battle Cossack.
- When the Gokaigers became Battle Fever to use the Penta Force cannon to defeat the Combined Combatant.
