Lothorn[1] is a Satan-like demon who was the nephew of Lokar from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was sent as a distraction to the Rangers by Lord Zedd in Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2 and is the main antagonist of the season 2 episode of Dino Fury "Ultimate Mystery".
History[]
At some point, Lothorn was captured and taken into custody by Grid Battleforce. He was later rescued by Lord Zedd and was sent to Pine Ridge to destroy the Dino Fury Power Rangers. When the Rangers morphed and said, "Dino Fury Power", he replied by saying he had power too, blasting them with his chest laser. Lothorn managed to block their moves before Zayto used the Blazing Dino Key. He was also able to stop the Blazing Fury Blast by extinguishing it. Even when Aiyon used the Electro Dino Key and fired the Electro Fury Blast, he discharged it. When Zayto used the Dino Knight Key, the monster was able to knock him out of his Ranger form. When the Blue Dino Fury Ranger thought Lothorn was a Sporix Beast, he revealed that he is actually the nephew of Lokar.
Later on, Lothorn appeared at Dinohenge to try to destroy the statues. Even though he was able to hold the Rangers off for a while, Zayto managed to block out his attack and teleported him to BuzzBlast. When he was fighting the Rangers, he was able to get a hold of Izzy and pin her to the ground until she pushed his foot back and struck him down. When Lothorn unleashed his multi-beam, Javi used the Shield Key to block it.
Lothorn then used his Pocket Gigantifier to make himself big. He fought against the Dino Fury Megazord Warrior Formation and the Mosa Razor Zord Battle Mode. When he blasted the Megazords, Aiyon was able to strike him. The Rangers then form the Primal Ultrazord and threw him into space, where he saw Angel Grove. The Rangers use the Primal Ultra Blast to destroy him. TV STORY-Ultimate Mystery
Personality[]
An extremely powerful being, Lothorn was very confident in his abilities as he stated that he was the last thing the Rangers would ever see. He was also, similarly to his uncle, quick to retaliate against those who insulted him.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Power: Being the nephew of Lokar, who was among one of the most powerful villains in the Power Rangers series next to Lord Zedd, Lothorn is one of the most powerful villains to be encountered by the Dino Fury Rangers and is possibly one of the most powerful villains in the entire Power Rangers Dino Fury series, being able to overpower all six of the Dino Fury Rangers with ease, defeat the Red Dino Fury Ranger in his Dino Knight Armor, and even go toe-to-toe against both the Dino Fury Megazord Warrior Formation and the Mosa Razor Zord Battle Mode when giant, only being defeated by the Primal Ultrazord. The only two that could match against Lothorn are both the Nemesis Beast and Void Queen, with the former being able to overpower three Megazords with ease and the latter not being defeated, though this can be neglected as Void Queen never fought all six Rangers single-handedly and the Nemesis Beast never fought the Primal Ultrazord.
- Chest Laser: Lothorn can charge up with purple energy and fire a massive white energy laser from his chest.
- Multi-Chest Laser: Lothorn can also fire white four-way energy lasers from his chest.
- Shockwave Balls: Lothorn can fire gold energy balls from his hands that can disperse into shockwaves of the same color.
- Energy Beam: Lothorn can also fire a large light red-pink energy beam from his hands.
- Water Shield: Lothorn can power up his hands with purple energy and slam them on the ground to release a water shield from it to protect himself from enemy attacks. It is shown to be powerful enough to block the Red Dino Fury Ranger's Blazing Fury Blast attack.
- Multi-Beams: Lothorn can fire multiple indigo or blue energy beams from all over his body. This was powerful enough to stop the Dino Knight Strike and de-morph the Red Ranger out of his Dino Knight Armor in one hit.
- Combined Chest Beam: Lothorn's strongest attack where he can combine all of his energy beams into a single massive yellow energy beam that he can fire from his chest.
- Teleportation: Lothorn can teleport by vanishing in a large orange orb.
Abilities[]
- Ultra Strength: Lothorn possesses Herculean raw strength, enough to overpower all six of the Dino Fury Power Rangers on a few occasions. This makes him one of the most strongest villains of the entire Power Rangers Dino Fury series.
- Expert Fighter: In addition to his pure raw strength, Lothorn is also an expert at fighting, being able to avoid all six of the Dino Fury Rangers' strikes with ease while being able to subdue them.
- Spike Protrusion: Lothorn possesses silver spikes on his body.
- Armor: Lothorn's spikes double as armor that lets him withstand attacks from his enemies.
- Electricity Redirection: Lothorn can catch electricity and use his spikes to redirect it towards the ground.
Weaknesses[]
- Lothorn displayed no weaknesses.
Arsenal[]
- Claws: Being themed after Satan, Lothorn possesses razor sharp claws for combat.
- Spiked Arm Guards: Lothorn also possesses a pair of spike-like arm guards on both of his forearms to block his enemies' attacks.
- Shoulder Spikes: Lothorn can also use the spikes on his shoulders as weapons to slash at his foes.
- Pocket Gigantifier: Lothorn carries a ray gun-like device that allows him to grow giant.

Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
- Lothorn is voiced by Julian Wilson.
Design[]
- As a nephew of Lokar, Lothorn bears a striking resemblance to Lokar, with the hair/spikes and horns being very similar.
Etymology[]
- Lothorn's name is a portmanteau of "Loathe" and "Thorn". Furthermore, his name shares similarities with that of Lothor, the main antagonist of Power Rangers Ninja Storm, with the latter stating that his name was connected to evil.
Notes[]
- Lothorn was adapted to be related to Lokar due to his costume being a repaint of Dai-Satan's Ultimate Great Satan form from 4 Week Continuous Special Super Sentai Strongest Battle!!, which was not adapted for Power Rangers.
- Lothorn is the third major threat of the Power Rangers Dino Fury series not to be either a Sporix Beast or part of the Void Family, with the first of which being Santa's Magic Sketchbook and the second being the Zord Jammer.
- Lothorn is the first general of Lord Zedd to be destroyed by the Rangers.
