Lifeforce Megazord

The Lifeforce Megazord was the fifth and final Megazord in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. It resembled the Lightspeed Solarzord, but mostly black. Its sword was identical to the Lightspeed Megazord Saber, but its Lightspeed insignia hilt was red instead of blue. (Though any connection is purely speculative, one might note that General McKnight's equipment and personnel all wore red Lightspeed insignias instead of the usual blue.)

Despite similarities to the Lightspeed Solarzord, the Lifeforce Megazord was never seen separating into vehicles and was even shown in its combined form while in storage. This may or may not indicate the lack of an ability to separate.

True to its name, it got its energy directly from the Rangers' life force, which made it very powerful, but also made it slow to use and put the Rangers at risk. Because of this, Lightspeed avoided using it until Olympius and Diabolico crippled the other four Megazords. The Lifeforce Megazord was then able to destroy the two demons by itself.

In The Fate of Lightspeed, Jinxer activated the Batling card he placed on the Megazord in the previous episode, sending large herds of Batlings in the Aquabase. Some took control of the Lifeforce Megazord and began destroying the base. When the Rangers, Ms. Fairweather, and Captain Mitchell attempted to escape in a submarine, the Megazord appeared to block their passage. As a result, they fired torpedoes at the Megazord, which scored a direct hit and managed to destroy it, with the ensuing explosion taking out the Aquabase too.

Notes

  • The Lifeforce Megazord is the shortest surviving Megazord, with it being destroyed only two episodes after its first appearance. Also, the Megazord does not have an American toy counterpart.
  • Unlike its Sentai counterpart, this Megazord is much more dangerous to use as too much life-force can kill the Rangers. Its counterpart, the Max Victory Robo Sigma Project, uses mental energy instead of life-force, making it safer to use.
