The first ever Legendary Ranger Mode was Samurai, the first team of the Neo-Saban era.
Coincidentally, both the Megaforce team and the Samurai team have a Super Mega mode.
Also, the Samurai team is the first PR team in existence in-universe, beginning centuries ago.
With the exception of Red Samurai Ranger, the all-Red Change here is composed of all Disney-era Legendary Rangers.
Jake's transformation is Red Overdrive Ranger, the Red Ranger from the last anniversary series before Megaforce. This is a departure from the source material which instead saw Gokai Green transform into Gosei Red.
Noah has already morphed into both of his femalecounterparts in this episode.
Similar to what happened in the original Gokaiger red change, when fighting Tentacus as Red Rangers, 4 out of 5 of the Super Mega Rangers pair up in 2 groups of 2 based on the similarities of the Rangers they've transformed into before Troy finishes him off as the Red Samurai Ranger.
Gia and Jake: Immediate predecessor/successor series and projectile weapons.
Noah and Emma: Jungle Cat theme and hand to hand fighter.
This is the first episode where the Super Mega Rangers change into a past team even though one of them is absent.
This is the first time Super Megaforce Pink transforms into RPM Black. As a result, this is the first glimpse of a female Black Ranger in all of Power Rangers.
All of the Legendary Ranger Modes for this episode comprise of Rangers who are not known to the public on Earth at that time period.
Squadron: This team of Rangers was not adapted into a Power Rangers team and was Sentai-exclusive despite the team, Dairangers coming from the source material for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Season 2). Gosei does mention that these Rangers have not yet been seen on Earth. This could mean that they may be Rangers from another world, like the Alien Rangers or the Galaxy Rangers. This is not confirmed.
S.P.D.: The events of S.P.D. occur in the year 2025, approximately 11 years after the arrival of the Armada.
Ranger Operators: The events of RPM occur in an alternate universe. Despite that, Gosei and the Rangers still have their Keys for Legendary Mode.
With this episode, Jake has transformed into both of his non-Green and Black Ranger counterparts at least once, while Emma has transformed into all 3 of her male counterparts at least once.
Much like episode 4 of Gokaiger, both of the Legendary Ranger teams that were used had a Blue Ranger with a typically serious attitude.
S.P.D.: Schuyler Tate was notable for his by-the-book nature and desire to being the leader of the B-Squad Rangers.
Jungle Fury: Theo Martin was notable for being intelligent yet arrogant and lacking in teamwork skills.
It should be noted that this is the first time Jake transforms into a Legendary Ranger that is his base color: Black. Also, Noah, Gia, and Emma all morphed into Legendary Black Rangers before Jake did.
Gia's morph into the Black Alien Ranger marks the first time a Super Mega Ranger has transformed into a Ranger from the original Saban era of Power Rangers (though Wild Force was produced by MMPR Productions, the franchise was transfered to Disney in its run), as well as the first time a Super Mega Ranger has transformed into a Ranger from the Zordon Era.
Noah's morph into the Black Dino Ranger marks the first time a Super Mega Ranger has transformed into one of Tommy Oliver's ranger forms.
Also, Emma is the only one who morphs into one of her direct counterparts during the Legendary Black Ranger Mode.
This episode marks the first time the Rangers have transformed into an entire past team (minus the Sixth Ranger) twice in the same episode, something which never happened in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. This is as the first Wild Force change was new footage made to replace changes into unadapted Sentai, in addition to the Gaoranger change later on from the original episode.
Jake morphs into the first black and the first green regular rangers. Incidentally, both those powers have been used by Adam Park.
Another coincidence is that Jake (who is the last regular Black Ranger) also morphs into the last regular Green Ranger.
Noah is the only one that didn't use singular Legendary Ranger Modes in this episode.
The Mighty Morphin Legendary Ranger Mode marks the first time the Super Mega Rangers morphs into all the core members of a team from the first Saban Era.
The appearance of Yellow Mask and Pink Flash marks the first time Sentai Rangers from the Showa Era appear in an episode of Power Rangers.
The Super Mega Rangers transformation into the Galaxy Rangers could be a subtle reference to the Silver Ranger's identity, given the fact that the Galaxy Rangers power-up is known as "Lights of Orion".
Just as the first Legendary Ranger Mode for the main Super Mega Rangers was for the first Neo-Saban season (Samurai), Orion’s first Legendary Ranger Mode was also the Sixth Ranger for the first Neo-Saban season team: the Gold Samurai Ranger.
With the exception of the Legendary Squadron, all teams from the Legendary Ranger Modes had Tommy Oliver as a member.
In this episode, Orion’s Legendary Ranger Modes, coincidentally, were all in sequenced order, starting from the first Sixth Ranger. Also, Orion has transformed into both of his Sixth Ranger counterparts that are Tommy Oliver’s.
The teams used to defeat Sirjinkor both times (Dino Thunder and Zeo) are both teams that draw their powers from gems, similar to Sirjinkor’s power crystal.
This episode marks the only time the Super Mega Rangers use the Turbo Ranger Keys.
With this episode, Troy has morphed into both of Tommy Oliver's Red Ranger identities at least once, while Gia has morphed into both of Tanya Sloan and Ashley Hammond's respective Ranger powers at least once.
Also, this marks the first time that a Super Mega Ranger transforms into one of the two Ranger forms belonging to T.J. Johnson.
At the same time, they have also morphed into one of two Ranger forms belonging to Carlos Vallerte and Cassie Chan, Adam and Kat's respective successors.
Both of the Legendary Ranger Modes in this episodes are tied to vehicles.
Mighty Morphin: Vehicles tend to run on "fossil fuels" (the remains of ancient creatures becoming processed and pressurized into oil and gas).
With this episode, Gia has morphed into all 3 of hermalecounterparts at least once, while Emma has morphed into all three of herWhiteRanger counterparts at least once.
The Jungle Fury Legendary Mode that the Super Mega Rangers morphed into become teams who had introduced a new special weapon or trump card in order to destroy something with a massive defensive power, similar to the introduction to the Super Mega Cannon. In this case, the Claw Cannon, which is first used to destroy the near-impenetrable shield of Toady.
The suits from Dengeki Sentai Changeman appear in this episode, with the explanation that they are derived from the "Legendary Dragon".
This episode marks the only time one of the Super Megaforce Rangers transforms into an Extra Hero, as well as the only time Orion transforms into a non-Sixth Ranger.
This episode marks the only time Orion transforms into a Ranger of his respective color, Silver. Also, in this version, Orion's last Legendary Ranger Mode is his respective color.
Including the Legendary Ranger modes of the original version, this episode possesses the most amount of teams used in a Legendary Ranger Mode in a single episode of the TV series with nineteen (the number of main PR Teams). However, this did not include all of the actual PR teams, not having a member of the Time Force Rangers, Wild Force Rangers, and the Ranger Operators.
With this episode, Orion has transformed into all 2 Green Sixth Rangers at least once.
This is the only time a Super Mega Ranger transforms into a Legendary Ranger without the need of a Ranger Key. In this case, Troy uses the Dragon Shield given to him by Orion, as Mighty Morphin Green, to become the Armored Red Ranger.
In this version, Troy's last Legendary Ranger Mode is the same as his first, Red Samurai Ranger.
As of this episode, the following Legendary Ranger Modes have not occurred in the series at some point:
Troy is the only Super Mega Ranger to not transform into a different-colored Ranger.
Although the Super Mega Rangers can mode into any past Power Ranger, and use different combinations they normally just mode into a past Ranger team with individual Rangers changing to their equivalents or closest analogues.
Note: When Gia changed into the Yellow Ranger in Samurai Surprise, she called out "Legendary Ranger Blitz!", a name that would later be used for another set of New Powers.
Note: In the initial change into this mode, the Red, Blue, White, and Pink Rangers were described as having the powers of the Legendary Dragon, despite that of the four, only Red had a Dragon motif, the others being a Pegasus (Blue), a Mermaid (White), and a Phoenix (Pink). It was later referred to as Blitz when Jake used the Black Key.
On several occasions, rather than changing into a past team, the Super Mega Rangers mode into Rangers all belonging to a particular motif, normally colors. There are also a few team-specific Legendary Ranger Modes that don't fit into the default configurations.
If a Super Mega Ranger switches genders with the original ranger, the outfit will take the traits of his or her gender's uniform as styled for the team, like how SPD has slacks for both genders, but Mystic Force has tights (only) for men and skirts and tights for women.
Skirted versions of some of the Yellow Rangers as seen in Super Megaforce. This is due to the respective rangers sentai counterparts being male while Super Megaforce Yellow is female.
