Dr. Lani Akana is an archaeologist and the mother of Ollie Akana.
History[]
Dino Fury[]
Lani and Ollie were heading for Dinohenge when they split up, and the latter meets Amelia. Upon reaching the statues, Lani is surprised to see her son had made a friend already before they start to search around the statues before a small earthquake erupts. Not long after, they are called out by Park Warden Garcia for trespassing before having Lani come with him to file a report, and she complies. 
TV STORY-Destination Dinohenge
After being released, she meets up with Ollie and Amelia, as well as Zayto, where they try to tell her and Carlos about the Sporix. Later, while Zayto and Amelia left for BuzzBlast, Ollie takes her aside to show her a scanner that Void Knight had dropped, hoping to use it and her drone to locate them easily. Lani is later seen again, observing a mysterious storm. She would be present to witness the Gold Ranger's awakening. TV STORY-Storm Surge
Lani discovers a tablet belonging to Purplebeard before discovering the tablet leads to two Dino Keys, underneath the statues. TV STORY-The Makeover
Lani would help unearth the Rangers' Dino Keys, before she conducted an experiment on Dinohenge monument. TV STORY-Waking Nightmares
She would later be recruited by the Rangers to help foil Void Knight's plans, but she ends up getting captured. Zayto would later rescue her. She then tries to fight Void Knight, only to be easily defeated before using Zayto's Dino Dagger to damage the stasis pod. She is surprised to discover that her son was the Blue Ranger when Ollie was reluctantly de-morphed in front of her, but nonetheless feels proud of him when the Rangers defeated Void Knight. At some point later, Lani departed to Japan and went to the Ishinomori Institute, while still maintaining contact with Ollie. TV STORY-Numero Uno
When Sugarhit was spotted in Japan, Lani attempted to call Ollie, but he ignored it, leading her to call Solon instead. Lani was disappointed when Aiyon showed up, but nonetheless showed him some Japanese delicacies before being attacked by Sugarhit and calls the Ranger Hotline to bring the other Rangers. After Sugarhit fled, Lani asks Ollie about his distance from her due to him now dating Amelia and some readings he sent her completely wrong, to which Ollie doesn't answer much. After Sugarhit's defeat, Lani gave the Rangers some Japanese snacks before Ollie and Amelia decided to help her, with the former's way of apologizing, while the others went out for some delicacies. When Void Queen formed a cocoon, the Rangers bring in Lani to examine it, and she explains that it will destroy everything in a 30-mile radius, including if it were moved or pierced. TV STORY-The Truth
Cosmic Fury[]
When the Rangers returned from Zordnia, having lost Zayto through a cosmic portal, Ollie brainwashed into working for Zedd, and Javi losing his arm activating the Cosmic Fury Zords, Lani works with Billy Cranston on finding a solution to the latter two's situations. While Ollie may be cured with the same antidote used before, Javi's severing is permanent. TV STORY-Lightning Strikes
After developing the cure, Lani and Amelia try to administer it to Ollie, but it doesn't work and immediately seal him inside the med bay before they plan to use the Triceratops statue, believing it will work, but it doesn't before Amelia tells her to return to Osaka for safety. While in Osaka, a seemingly cured Ollie visits his mother in Osaka before she tells him she got a message from Mick Kanic, who managed to find Zayto on a planet called Levvina before eventually dropping his deception and takes away her laptop before teleporting away. TV STORY-Off Grid
Aiyon mentions that Lani believes that if the Triceratops statue was destroyed, it could free her son from being corrupted, which worked when Slyther and Mucus destroy it. TV STORY-Switching Sides
Lani watched Javi's concert from backstage, along with her freed son, saw a photo of Amelia's newborn sister, and joined the others in storming the stage to celebrate with Javi. TV STORY-The End
Personality[]
When Ollie introduced Ameila to her, Lani seemed happy that he had already made a new friend. Lani was also protective of her son, threatening Void Knight that she will destroy everything and everyone he loved if he harmed Ollie.
