Koinobori Grumer (コイノボリグルマー Koinobori Gurumā) is a Koinobori-Themed Kurumaju from the Great Space Invasion Running Team Hashiriyan.
History
Decotrade and Itasha scheme to steal the energy source to power themselves up. Itasha and Yaiyai Yarucar are excited but Decotrade is more cautious and lacking confidence especially since the Boonboomgers were strong enough to destroy Raid Team Captain Madrex, so they can’t beat them. Yeiyei reminds him that is what the Kuramaju are for, with Itasha finding a koinobori (koi fish windsock) and throwing her Ignition Key into it to create the Koinobori Grumer. The Trio order their new monster to follow Genba and snag the energy, but Koinobori goes the wrong way and they have to chase after him.
Nejiretta carries Koinobori like a mikoshi and knows this will be a problem given the package. The Kuramaju demands they hand over the briefcase, with Mira attempting to protect Genba by trying to transform, only for her Boonboom Changer to be hit by Koinobori’s Streamer Shot which causes it to float making it impossible to slide on her arm to activate it and she has to hold onto it to prevent it from floating away. Genba is forced to try and carefully fight the Nejiretta by avoiding jostling the briefcase too much. A Nejiretta swipes the briefcase for a second before getting punched and it almost falls to the ground before Genba catches it safely. The Nejiretta is then used as a shield to block Koinobori’s Streamer Shot, which sends it floating helplessly into the air. Genba then tricks Koinobori into shooting the other Nejiretta and make them float, forcing him to fight Genba on his own.
Genba almost drops the briefcase, scaring both Mira and Itasha, but he catches it with his foot and gently hackysacks it back into his hands. Realizing that they almost were blown to kingdom come, the Sanseater Trio call a time out and drag Koinobori away, which negates the floating effect once he is far enough away from the battle area. Mira is relieved to get her Changer back while Itasha is furiously chastising Koinobori to listen to his superiors because they explained beforehand that the briefcase would explode if it was jostled around too much. Decotrade tells him to quit being an idiot and just try to grab the briefcase instead of fighting. Koinobori heads back to where he was earlier, only to see that the Rangers have left the area and his minions are flailing about on the ground disoriented from their time floating in the air.
Later, Koinobori managed to catch up with them. Since they are close to the laboratory, they only have to deal with the enemy one more time before completing the mission. The two transform and Genba takes Mira’s Boonboom Handle while giving her the briefcase to hold, dual wielding her weapon with his Boonboom Axe to deal with the Nejiretta and Koinobori. He effortlessly takes down the grunts in seven seconds. A watch alarm goes off, to which Genba says it is time, shocking Mira by tossing the briefcase. Koinobori and the Trio panic and chase after it to try and catch it before it hits the ground but they fail. Mira hides behind Genba fearing the explosion but the briefcase is revealed to be filled with mochi. Taiya and the others arrive with him congratulating Genba on the successful delivery, having been notified by Agent Saibu that the energy was successfully delivered to the lab while Genba acted as the decoy to distract the Hashiriyans.
Mira was not informed of this but Genba says that works as the best way to deceive your enemies is to deceive your friends too. The Trio and Koinobori are furious that they were tricked and Mira also is upset at the deception despite having her weapon returned to her. Itasha fumes and orders Koinobori to attack, which Decotrade also agrees to as they can avenge Madrex with his help. The Trio attempt to retreat to safety, though Itasha stops to grab some mochi from the briefcase and Decotrade scolds her because now isn’t the time for snacks. She tries to justify it by saying how good it is and sprints off with him to hide, but gets called a glutton by Yeiyei.
Taiya, Jou and Ishiro transform and then the team engage Koinobori. Despite his slippery agility as a windsock and assortment of attacks, the team manages to wear Koinobori down and Mira and Genba knock him off balance with a launching strike using their boot wheels. He is then destroyed by a triple gunshot and twin slash variant of the Bakuage Handling Drive.
After Yeiyei's defeat, Koinobori is revived and the Rangers form the standard Boonboomger Robo, but their foe proves to be a bit stronger than anticipated. Jou is still fired up from his cleaning workout earlier and summons Boonboom Patrol Car 1 and Racing to launch a flurry of high speed claw slash attacks. Genba and Mira then take control and summon Boonboom Shovel and Wagon to form Boonboomger Robo Builder Wagon Custom. Mira uses her Wagon’s claw to block Koinobori’s staff and hold it, giving Builder Wagon Custom an opening to finish the fight with the Bakuage Hammer: Boonboom Crash attack, sending Koinobori flying with an uppercut hammer swing and destroying him.
