Koichiro Endo (遠藤 耕一郎 Endō Kōichirō) is MegaBlack (メガブラック Mega Burakku), leader of the Megarangers.[1][2] He is also the president of Moroboshi High School's Digital Research Club. He is described as "powerful, but a bit slow."

History[]
Megaranger[]
Koichiro is the president of the "Digital Research Club" of Moroboshi High; he was one of four students (alongside fellow students Shun Namiki, Chisato Jogasaki and Miku Imamura) investigating strange occurrences and technology being created at the NASADA plant in connection to the works of I.N.E.T., unknowing that Kenta Date, a fellow student, had already been recruited for their research. When the Nezirejia began their invasion pre-emptively, the four students and Kenta were all given Digitizers and the task of becoming Megarangers in order to battle the invaders from the twisted realm.
TV STORY-Ep. 1: Don't Let Them! The Twisted Invaders After the five became Megarangers, Koichiro invited Kenta to join their club due to their current common connection, even though his grades are lacking. Later, after the Megarangers use GalaxyMega for the first time to defeat Rhino Nezire, Koichiro ranked 4th of 104 participants on a test. TV STORY-Ep. 3: For Real! A Huge Nezire Beast
Koichiro comes with a set of daily schedule for Megarangers, which make the others thinks he is micro-managing. As he explains the details, the other Megarangers slowly escape from the club room without him realizing. Later in the Biology Room, Koichiro meets Ms. Nishiyama who finds all the goldfish in an aquarium are dead. He is sure there is something with the teacher. The suspicion is true when Kenta is almost assaulted by Ms. Nishiyama when the other friends come in aid. Koichiro even got attacked into unconscious state. As he is awoken, he finds his friends have found the source and are taking the matter without him. As he sense the danger within the other Megarangers for not listening his warning, he turns into MegaBlack and tracks them using Satellite Search. He manages to find his friends as well as a Nezire Beast harming them known as Chameleon Nezire. Eventually, MegaBlack can escape the other Megarangers from Chameleon Nezire's illusion before the complete team finish the Nezire Beast. Later when he regrets at what happened before, Kenta and the other friends insists that this was their fault. Koichiro realizes that the Megarangers will always be together forever, only to force his friends to do push-ups from the Megaranger daily schedule. TV STORY-Ep. 4: Smash it! Shibolena's Trap

One day when Yurika Mishima has fixed Koichiro's shirt button, Koichiro mistakenly agrees Mishima's propose. Such misunderstanding ends with several dates of the two. Days later, Koichiro is caught hand together with Chisato, which makes Mishima envious. When suddenly a thunder strikes, he and the other Megarangers learn the next day that it was the 17th thunderstrike worldwide, which is probably a Nezirejia attack.
After analyzing the thunderstorm, Koichiro and Chisato form a team to go to the space observation center and tasked to take a look at some photos taken there. As they are peaking into a room (with Koichiro as Chisato's walkstep), they find Shibolena planning something to destroy the entire Earth surface using Bee Nezire, and the space center workers are controlled by the Nezire beast. When they see Mishima who is also there and about to be harmed by Kunekune, they help her before Koichiro as MegaBlack takes the fainting girl into a hospital using his CyberSlider 2. Joining the last, he with the other Megarangers throw Bee Nezire into Earth to defeat it.
Later in a park, Koichiro confesses his rejection to Mishima, which the latter responds with saying that she has a new boyfriend named Taki. When Chisato offers to buy ice cream, Koichiro insists that he is not heartbroken. TV STORY-Ep. 7: What's This? The Clingy, Bothersome Girl

Koichiro's appearances in the "Versus Series", Megaranger vs. Carranger and Gingaman vs. Megaranger, are featured in the Super Sentai Versus Series Theater, hosted by the heroes of Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Agri (Gosei Black) also dresses as Koichiro in the Megaranger cosplay.

Years later, Koichiro fought alongside not only his own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gomin and their Sugomin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. The MegaBlack powers are later used by Don Dogoier via the Ranger Keys. Farewell Space Pirates[]

Koichiro was a very serious honor student who took academics seriously. He could come across as being too strict and uptight, sometimes annoying his teammates. Professor Kubota considers Koichiro a natural leader.

The MegaBlack Ranger Key (メガブラックレンジャーキー Mega Burakku Renjā Kī) is Koichiro Endo's personal Ranger Key and what became of his powers after he along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.
This key along with the majority of the Ranger Keys were collected by the Red Pirates and later used by the Gokaigers. The MegaBlack Ranger Key was mainly used by Don Dogoier (Gokai Green), who used it to fight as MegaBlack.

The Megaranger keys, along with all the Ranger Keys of the first 33 Super Sentai, were briefly taken by the Black Cross King and turned into Ranger puppets that were fought by the Gokaigers and the Goseigers. Splitting up, the puppet MegaBlack was defeated as part of a group of surviving Black Green warrior keys by Gokai Green and Super Gosei Black.
