Kenji Yamamoto is a composer and songwriter for the Super Sentai franchise. He wrote several songs for the franchise of note, including:
- Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman - Fiveman opening
- Kokoro wa Tamago - Jetman Stage Show at Red Heroes Korakuen Yuenchi
- Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger - Zyuranger opening
- Bouken Shite Rappapi-ya! - Zyuranger ending
- Gosei Sentai Dairanger - Dairanger opening
- Oretachi Muteki sa!! Dairanger - Dairanger ending
- Secret Kakuranger - Kakuranger opening
- Ninja! Matenrou Kids - Kakuranger ending
He was also part of the group known as Healthy Wings writing the soundtrack for Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger.
Aside from Sentai, he is notable for other anime and J-pop works, including writing the main theme of Dragonball Z, Cha-La Head Cha-La and working on the soundtrack for Dragon Ball Z Kai.
Kenji Yamamoto was fired by Toei Animation after the first 95 episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai when Toei Animation publicly acknowledged that many of his compositions were infringed upon unidentified third-party copyrights which led to the show replacing the first 95 episodes' soundtrack with the compositions by Shunsuke Kikuchi.
Following the revelation of his BGM plagiarism situation, Kenji Yamamoto's activity is unknown as of today.
