Kenji Shibata (柴田 賢志 Shibata Kenji) is a retired Japanese actor who played Daimon Tatsumi (GoYellow) in Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive.
Near the end of GoGoFive's filming, Shibata was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor, forcing him to undertake five different surgeries. Although he appeared healthy in return performances as Daimon following the end of GoGoFive, Shibata's condition steadily deteriorated, which heavily affected his motor skills and ability to perform. He retired from showbusiness in 2007 due to ill health, now requiring a cane to walk.[1]
In 2018, Shibata joined his fellow GoGoFive cast members for a reunion, claiming they had helped to cheer him up during difficult times.[2]
He was born on the same day as the broadcast of episode 24 of Himitsu Sentai Gorenger.
