"It's Morphin Time! Soaring Falcon!"
―Ken's morph call

Ken Masters is the deuteragonist of the popular Capcom video game franchise, Street Fighter. He is able to access the Morphin Grid to become the Soaring Falcon Ranger, a member of the Street Fighter Power Rangers.[1]

History[]

Early Life[]

As a very young child, Ken became a delinquent after his parents almost divorced, resulting them to realize their mistakes for neglecting him, and sent Ken at 12 years old to be discipled by his father's old friend, Gouken. There, he met Ryu, and formed an unbreakable brotherhood rivalry.

Once Ken and Ryu turned 23 years old, Gouken believed that they were ready to travel the world in order to test and hone their martial skills against the best fighters from around the world. With this, both Ken and Ryu left Gouken's dojo, where Ryu headed to fight in the first World Warrior tournament, while Ken returned to America where he became the country's undefeated champion. Following his victory, he began to date Eliza, the sister of Guile's wife.

While Ken was visiting his master's temple to inform the great news of his victory, Ken discovered a man named Akuma who utilizes a similar fighting style to the one both Ryu and Ken were taught. But uses a dark power known as the Satsui no Hado, which presumably killed Gouken. Unfortunately, Ken was still too weak to face the man he suspected was responsible for murdering Gouken. Shortly after encountering Akuma, Ryu arrives and informs Ken similar bad news in relation to the Satsui no Hado. Ryu reveals to Ken that he is cursed with the dark power and nearly killed the world fighting tournament host, Sagat. To ensure his best friend would finally suppress the Satsui no Hado within him, Ken gave Ryu his old hair tie which eventually became the latter's signature red headband.

Along the way, Ken and Ryu become involved in fighting alongside world warrior heroes like Chun-Li, Guile, and Cammy White in a war against Shadaloo. The terrorist organization led by M. Bison. Ken was temporarily brainwashed by M. Bison into Violent Ken, until a high school girl who idolized Ryu named Sakura Kasugano, as well as a redeemed Sagat save both Ryu and Ken from their corruptions. After marrying Eliza between the second and fourth (chronologically third) world fighting tournaments, Ken initially retired from martial arts until he discovered his wife became pregnant during S.I.N.'s temporary reign. When Eliza eventually gave birth to their son Mel after the chronological third tournament, Ken's passion towards martial arts was reignited for his family’s honor in the latter tournament. Around the near climax of the chronological third/S.I.N. tournament, Ken learned from Ryu that Gouken survived Akuma's attack, and Ryu sought advice from Gouken to find a way to purge himself from the Satsui no Hado. When Mel became 2 years old, Ken was one of the participated world warriors on a final raid at Shadaloo’s final base. Although the Shadaloo era was over and Ryu was now freed of Satsui no Hado, both Ryu and Ken continue pursuing their respective paths as martial artists.

During Illuminati’s reign where Mel grows up between 3 - 4 years old, Ken began to train his son and took in the younger brother of Laura Matsuda, Sean as his apprentice and teammate for an upcoming team-based American tournament. Sean was the same boy whom Ken saved during the final era of Shadaloo. Although Sean lost the fight, Ken gave the trophy to him to honor the former’s family.

Unfortunately, sometime after Illuminati’s world fighting tournament, a mysterious criminal organization led by an old Russian businessman named JP frames Ken for a crime he did not commit during the Nayshall incident, forcing the CEO of the Masters Foundation to go into hiding for his family’s safety. While trying to find the criminal mastermind who framed him, Ken appears to be taking a job at a construction shipping company known as “Eagle Shipping Company” to cover his identity from the criminal controlled public eye.
