Kei (ケイ Kei) is the only female Ashu and is Eiji's mother, as a result of her and Karato's sharing of a forbidden love. After conversing with Natsuki, Souta, and Satoru by means of her spirit (trapped in a mirror), a tear-shaped jewel was left behind.
History[]
In Task 40, the Ashu Ouga reveals the feeling he held for Kei and the anger he had at her for being with Eiji's father, thinking that this is what lead to her becoming trapped between worlds instead of existing either on Earth or in the trapped realm of the other Ashu. Though Eiji appears to defeat Ouga, he appears to become trapped within the same realm as Kei, but in actuality was with Ouga taking the disguise of Eiji's mother within the dimensional rift. In the midst of his final battle with Ouga, the real Kei provides her son with a shakujo to finally purify and destroy the Ashu and helped him return to his world. She made a cameo in Task 48 to cheer up Eiji at home.
