- "White Swan!"
- ―White Swan's roll call[src]
Kaori Tendo (née Rokumeikan) (鹿鳴館 香 Rokumeikan Kaori) is White Swan (ホワイトスワン Howaito Suwan) of the Jetmen and wife to Red Hawk.
History[]
Jetman[]
Kaori is the only daughter and heiress of the Rokumeikan Enterprise Inc. Ever since childhood, her parents had not been around much, so she was raised and taught by the family's loyal butler Jiiya.
The first person who received the Birdonic Wave and the first female member of the Jetmen. Kaori agreed to join the team without hesitation, wanting to do something more exciting than merely living her idle rich life. She helped Ryu Tendo and Commander Aya Odagiri recruit Raita Oishi when the latter had reservations. TV STORY-Ep. 1: Seek the Warriors
Due to her wealthy upbringing, she found great difficulty adapting to the strict training regimen required by the team, becoming a weak link. Scolded for this by Ryu, Kaori quit the team in protest to go back to her old life and get married. However, she could not bring herself to forget about her teammates. When her fiancé turned out to be someone with nothing but contempt for the poor, she dumped him at the altar and came back just in time to help her comrades. TV STORY-Ep. 4: The Fighting Bride She also came to see Ryu's criticism of her as valid, which drove her to try harder to fit in with the others. After many skirmishes with the Vyram, her respect for Ryu gradually turned into affection and love.
Despite her feelings for Ryu being made known to the team, Kaori still had a pursuer - Gai Yuki, whom she only saw as a partner. She made several attempts to win Ryu's heart, only to be rejected just as often. Although she constantly rebuffed Gai, he was usually the first to come to her support when she either felt scorned by Ryu or was in grave danger. On some occasions, she had to be the mediator when tension between the two men rose.
Eventually, she learned why her leader kept turning her down - he still loved his deceased girlfriend Rie Aoi. The information did not stop Kaori, though, as she instead resolved to keep trying even harder to replace Rie. This stopped when she was abducted and offered to the Majins. Gai found her and offered himself in her place, protecting her from harm again. It was at this point that she really saw how much he cared about her, which resulted in her anguished declaration of love for him. After the Jetmen had defeated the Majins, Kaori and Gai became an official couple. TV STORY-Ep. 30: The Three Demons Rise
As Gai's rivalry with Ryu escalated, Gai left the Jetmen, taking Kaori with him, believing that they could not have a proper love life if they continued staying. Once they learned the truth about Maria's identity and her relationship with Ryu, they promptly returned to give him some much-needed encouragement. After this event, Ryu and Gai reached an understanding and developed a friendship. Kaori thus felt more comfortable than ever with both of them around. TV STORY-Ep. 32: Wings!! One More Time
Her relationship with Gai was happy, and in due course, she invited him to her house to meet her parents. She did not anticipate, however, the friction between her family's elitism and her lover's non-conformism. This slowly put a strain on their romance, with Gai talking less when going on a date with her than before. They still supported each other wholeheartedly as teammates in the Jetmen in spite of their worsening love life.
When Maria turned Ryu into a vampire monster, Kaori personally helped him return to normal. TV STORY-Ep. 48: A Kiss of Death She witnessed Ryu having to watch Back Dimensional Count Radiguet fatally wound Rie and tried to comfort him, but Gai asked everyone to leave the sorrowful man alone. TV STORY-Ep. 49: Maria... Her Love and Death
In the final battle, Kaori found out about Ryu's plan to face Radiguet alone to get revenge for Rie. As Red Hawk was being beaten by the villain, White Swan and her teammates came to his rescue. Taking a hit meant for Ryu, she told him that Rie would never have wanted to see her love in a state of despair. She reminded Ryu that he was the leader of the Jetmen, and he had to continue fighting not for vengeance, but for the values he held dear. He regained his composure and returned to the battlefield with her. The five heroes managed to, after a long and grueling fight, destroy Radiguet and end the Vyram threat for good. TV STORY-Ep. 50: Battles to the Death TV STORY-Final Ep.: Flap Your Wings! Aviators!
Some time later, Kaori ended her relationship with Gai and started a new one with Ryu. The two finally got married, with their ceremony attended by all the other Jetmen and Commander Aya. TV STORY-Final Ep.: Flap Your Wings! Aviators! They would have a son at some point, whom they would name Gai, in honor of their fallen comrade. Imitations[]
A copy of White Swan was created as part of the Shadow Jetman. Light Armadillo created these evil Jetmen from their shadows, as they grew stronger, the real Jetmen grew weaker. Maria created a forcefield of light over the city at night to create daylight so the Shadow Jetman could destroy the city. There were only four, as Gai Yuki was not there when the copies were made. Gai shot Maria so the light field went away, the Shadow selves vanished and the Jetman defeated Light Armadillo. TV STORY-Ep. 25: The Laughing Shadow-People
Epilogue Manga[]
In the non-canon Epilogue Manga, Kaori now tended to her one year old daughter Aya. When her husband, Raita and Ako went off to fight Radiguet, Chokan reassured Kaori that they were still part of the team and the fight even though they are not physically with them. Kaori, shocked, had to watch as Radiguet kidnapped her daughter. Ryu and Kaori went through much discussion if they were going to fight when they discovered Radiguet transformed their daughter into Ruma. COMIC STORY- Chojin Sentai Jetman: Toki wo Kakete
Super Sentai World[]
Later, Kaori, alongside her team, joined forces with the Fivemen, Zyurangers, Dairangers, and Kakurangers to defeat the evil Emperor Daidas and his forces. MOVIE STORY-Super Sentai World

Gokaiger[]
Legend War[]
Years later, Kaori fights alongside not only her own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gormin and their Sugormin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. The White Swan powers are later used by Ahim de Famille via the Ranger Keys. TV STORY-Ep. 1: The Space Pirates Appear MOVIE STORY-Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle

The three official Sentai come to aid the Akibarangers in the final battle with the Stema Otsu Corporation. TV STORY-Ep. 1: Delusional War
The Jetmen later appeared with the now five official Sentai, transforming into their Ludicrous Power which combined with the others to form the Ludicrous Cannon Bazooka, which the Akibarangers used to destroy Kameari Alpaca. TV STORY-Ep. 10: Delusional Pillow Talk
Super Hero Taisen[]
Kaori, alongside her team, among the majority of the Super Sentai heroes, was caught up in the "Super Hero Taisen" incident which eventually resulted in the Super Sentai teams and Kamen Riders joining forces to defeat both Dai-Zangyack and Dai-Shocker. Zyuohger vs. Ninninger[]
White Swan appeared with her team among the first 38 Super Sentai whom collectively empowered Wild Tousai Shuriken King in its fight against the titanic Gillmarda, granting the Ninningers and Zyuohgers the power to perform the Zyuoh Ninnin Super Sentai Burst which destroyed Gillmarda with the combined power of all 40 Super Sentai. Super Sentai Strongest Battle[]
Kaori joined the Super Sentai Strongest Battle as a member of Land, Sea, Air Team. It’s unknown whether she participated in any of the matches, but her team lost the third round against the Oddball Team.
Personality[]
Very sweet, caring, educated, prim and proper. Just like an ordinary millionaire's daughter, she loves to play musical instruments such as the piano and the violin. A good friend of Ako Hayasaka and Raita Oishi. She also has very good cooking skills.
When she first joins, she acts somewhat like a typical spoiled brat from a rich family, believing that she does not have to work or undergo harsh training programs as her teammates. She even quits the Jetman after being called out for this. It should be noted, however, that despite her sense of entitlement, Kaori does not look down on those of lower social status. She instantly gets on well with Raita—a farmer—when she first meets him. When her would-be husband expresses his complete contempt for the poor, she kicks and leaves him on the spot to rejoin the team. Over time, she does realize being a Jetman means having total commitment regardless of status, thus she is able to outgrow her entitled behaviour, becoming more determined.
At the start, she does not like Ryu because he keeps reprimanding her. When she manages to understand that his criticism is constructive instead of dismissive, Kaori sees him in a better light and slowly falls for him. In spite of being rejected many times, Kaori refuses to easily give up. Even after being shown his old lover Rie's grave, Kaori is only disheartened for a while, before resolving to simply apply herself more to take the place of Rie.
In contrast, Kaori only sees her pursuer Gai as a teammate, initially having no romantic interest in him in favour of Ryu. Despite this, she is not completely unmoved by his willingness to go at length for her affection. In fact, Gai's numerous attempts to save her at the expense of his own well - being finally wins her over, and she does return his feelings. Were it not for Kaori's parents, their relationship could continue longer.
She can be very generous. On occasion, she does take advantage of her family's fortune and status to help the Jetmen fight Vyram's schemes. When Ako is turned into a greedy person, Kaori does not hesitate to spend a hefty sum of money on buying jewelry, just to try snapping the young girl out of it.
Always willing to offer emotional support for those in crisis, Kaori has helped her friends, most notably Ryu and Gai, when they are in crisis. In fact, it is her encouragement that has helped the leader overcome his despair from losing his first love, which proves invaluable in the final battle against Radiguet.

Ranger Key[]
- "Jetman!"
- ―Mobilates' Gokai Change announcement[src]
The White Swan Ranger Key (ホワイトスワンレンジャーキー Howaito Suwan Renjā Kī) is Kaori Rokumeikan's personal Ranger Key and what became of her powers after she along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.
This key along with the majority of the Ranger Keys were collected by the Red Pirates and later used by the Gokaigers. The White Swan Ranger Key was mainly used by Ahim de Famille (Gokai Pink), who used it to fight as White Swan.

- When the Gokaigers became the Jetmen in their fight with the bounty hunter Kiaido. TV STORY-Ep. 28: Wings are Eternal
The Jetman Keys, along with all the Ranger Keys of the first 33 Super Sentai, were briefly taken by the Black Cross King and turned into Ranger puppets that were fought by the Gokaigers and the Goseigers. Using their power of flight to disorient the two Sentai in the initial skirmish, they later split up, with the puppet White Swan being defeated as part of a group of surviving White and Pink warrior keys by Gokai Pink and Super Gosei Pink.
