History

Early Life

Kaito Goshikida was born to his parents Isao and Mitsuko Goshikida. As a child, his parents created Secchan to be his robotic companion, though they disappeared as a result of their research into the multiverse. Since then, Kaito had began living and was raised by his paternal grandmother Yatsude Goshikida.

Becoming a Ranger

In 2021, after Kaito's world merges with Kikaitopia, he along with the other humans welcome the Kikainoids with open arms. A month later, when the Tojitendo appear to subjugate their world, he is one of the only people to stand up to them.

After he accidentally activates Secchan, who leads him to his parents' secret lab, he gets his Zenkaiger equipment. He goes to fight the Tojitendo and meets Juran along the way. Then the two of transform into Zenkaigers and form their team, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger to fight off the Tojitendo, and save their world. TV STORY-No. 1-kai! The World of Kikai is Kikikaikai!

Kaito decides to play along the invisible Juran to please the occult club children by showing them real "ghosts". TV STORY-No. 17-kai! Nununu Occult Club!

When the residents of the world is affected by Love World's spell resulting of them fall in love with anything they first encounter even in slightest situation, Kaito does so with an upgraded Colorful Sundae Yatsude made. Love World's stronger spell makes Kaito feel pity when the sundae melts, thinking "she" would die. As the Zenkaigers know this is Love World's fault, he uses Jetman Sentai Gear as Secchan told to reenact the series' final scene. On the scene, he portrays Ryu Tendo, marrying Magine as Kaori Rokumeikan. Even after Love World is defeated and all people including Kaito are back to normal, he is still feeling down of not being able to eat the sundae. TV STORY-No. 18-kai! Life is Short, Fall in Love at Full-Force!

Despite being turned into a manga as a result of Manga World's attack, Kaito can still fight as Zenkaizer. He even can use Dynaman Sentai Gear to attack Stacy by utilizing DynaPink's Rose Finale. TV STORY-No. 28-kai! Weekly Shonen Manga World of Great Illustrations!

Gozyuger Anniversary Discussion

Zenkaizer appears in a discussion about No.1 Sentai Gozyuger being an anniversary series. In the discussion, Zenkaizer greets everyone with full power, before introducing GozyuWolf.

As the discussion starts with Gokai Red criticizing about Gozyuger being the 49th Super Sentai series, Zenkaizer says that Gokaiger is the 35th, meanwhile his series, Zenkaiger is the 45th. As Legend mentions that anniversary shows are generally refers to how years has been passed, Zenkaizer is frustated that his series is the 46th by Decade.

Later when Legend mentions that he befriends another ring-user aside the Gozyugers, the Gotchard V-Cinext poster falls onto Zenkaizer.

When Gokai Red complains that two of the Gozyugers are not proper animals when he thought they are an animal Sentai team, Zenkaizer explains that they are No.1 Sentai, the first team with prefix written in katakana.

When Gokai Red says that Legend stole the term "Legend" from the Gokaiger's Great Legend War, Zenkaizer mentions that Zocks also stole 'something' from him. Later when Decade, Gokai Red and Legend are arguing, Zenkaizer tries to stop them.

When GozyuWolf thinks he is not worthy to be an anniversary material, Zenkaizer convinces that Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are the former's friends. As Gozyuger is officially an anniversary series, Zenkaizer has been a part of the new era called "Anniversary Quintet". Later, he invites GozyuWolf into Colorful, which the latter agrees.

Personality

Kaito wants to be the number one at everything. He is usually easygoing, but when his interest is triggered, he becomes hot-headed and excited. His ideas are very wacky but creative, as seen when attempting to bungee jump from the Tokyo Sky Tree with unlicensed equipment or whenever he makes a plan against the attacking World at the time.

He is a brave and daring man, as he did not hesitate to step in and oppose the evil invaders who were threatening his world, even when unarmed, outnumbered, and overpowered. When he was handed the Geartlinger and Sentai Gears, Kaito declared his desire of protecting the world with no hesitation. He is also very moral, looking down on cruel behaviors with good intentions, even against a World.

Despite his own eccentricities, he exhibits great friendliness, level-headedness, and sense of sympathy. He welcomed the quirks of his friends with open arms even before they became the Zenkaigers, and opted to look at the good one does before the bad. During the initial invasion of the Tojitendo, he did not discriminate against Juran due to just being a Kikainoid, but instead, he focused on the good he did instead.

In addition to that, Kaito had demonstrated that he can be a very perceptive person whenever the situation requires him to do so. For example, when Stacy (actually an unknown being who is secretly controlling Stacy's body) had showed up and announced his intention to destroy the Tojitendo as well as join him and his team, Kaito had correctly denounced "Stacy" as an impostor due to Kaito himself being able to identify several key personality traits which had been frequently displayed by the "Real" Stacy during Kaito's previous encounters with Stacy that not even Gege himself was able to imitate even though Gege had access to Stacy's memories which would have allowed him to easily fool Kaito and his friends.

Having lost his parents for about ten years, Kaito longs to figure out what happened to them. When he gets an idea of what had happened to them he becomes more hot-headed than usual, rushing into combat and ignoring vulnerable civilians. While he reconciles with the need to help others he still prioritizes his parents, attempting to figure out ways to infiltrate the Tojitendo Palace, the place they were last rumored to be in.

Kaito's eccentric behaviors make him interesting to Zocks.

Kaito also has an optimistic opinion on fortunetelling, which he considers not as a foolproof instruction, but as a hopeful motivator in the times of hardship.

As with all of the Zenkaigers, Zenkaizer exceeds in gunmanship, though due to lacking a personal weapon, he also specializes in freestyle and physical hand-to-hand combat. His sole access to the Sentai Gears adds to his and the Zenkaiger's abilities. Zenkaizer would later gain the Zenryoku Zenkai Cannon, allowing him to summon Sentai Warriors for the situation at hand.

Zenkaizer can use the ZenKaijuu Gear to transform into Super Zenkaizer (スーパーゼンカイザー, Sūpā Zenkaizā).

In this form Zenkaizer gains bulky armor reminiscent of DragonCaesar, increasing his strength and durability, along with being granted the drill-like Zenkai Tenlance to fight. Despite the increased body mass, the armor does not hinder Zenkaizer's mobility in any form, and he remains as agile as he did without it. Much like the Kikainoid Zenkaigers, Super Zenkaizer can grow to a giant size as Giant Super Zenkaizer, though in his case his height matches both ZenkaiOh and TwokaiOh. As Giant Super Zenkaizer, Kaito can combine into ZenKaijuOh with Zocks as Super Twokaizer SD.

GolDon Zenkaizer is a special upgrade form of Zenkaizer. This form replaces Zenkaizer's helmet number with Don Momotaro's peach emblem, and his cape and torso armor are replaced by the Omikoshi Phoenix's GolDon Armor.

Stacaesar Kyoka (ステイシーザー (強化), Suteishīzā Kyōka) is the upgraded form of Stacaesar. In this form, he is able to summon past Sentai Rangers in their power-up forms, and is equipped with various additional pieces of arsenal through Izirude's modifications, which vastly improve and augment his combat abilities.

Inhabiting Stacy's body due to actions of Inverted World, Kaito Goshikida transformed into Staceaser Kyoka to join the fight.

• Caesar Jaou Houkougeki (シーザー邪王砲皇撃, Shīzā Jaou Houkougeki, lit. Caesar Dark Emperor Cannon Blast): A cannon deployed from the gear symbol on Stacaeser's chest that could charge and fire powerful blasts of energy when in use.

• Kaito Goshikida is portrayed by Kiita Komagine (駒木根 葵汰, Komagine Kiita). As a child, he is portrayed by Yumeki Uenoyama (上野山 夢輝, Uenoyama Yumeki), with Koh Enomoto (榎本晄, Enomoto Kō) substituting for Uenoyama in Episode 40.
• As Zenkaizer, his suit actor is Masashi Takada (高田 将司, Takada Masashi), who previously suit acted Kiramai Silver and Mashin Henkei GigantDriller.
• In the Korean dub of Zenkaiger entitled Power Rangers Zenkaiger, which aired in South Korea, Kaito is renamed Jeon Ryeo-wook (전려욱, Jeon Ryeo-wook^?), while he keep his ranger designation (젠카이저, Jenkaijeo^?). • Kaito's surname, Goshikida (五色田, Goshikida), is composed of the kanji for five (五, five) and color (色, color).
  • It sounds like "I'm the 5 colors" (五色だ, Goshiki da).
• 田 and 介 are used as radicals to form the kanji for "world" (界, Kai), making his full name a play on words meaning "Five-Colored Worlder" (五色界人, Goshiki Kaijin).

Zenkaiger Ring (ゼンカイジャーリング, Zenkaijā Ringu) - A Sentai Ring based on the Zenkaigers. It had used by Universe Warrior Zenkaizer until he had been eliminated at some point, with his Zenkaiger Ring landing in Rei Gushima's hands.

• Used by Rei Gushima to battle Rikuo Byakuya/GozyuLeon & Mashiro Kumade. During this battle, Rei used the Ash ability from the previously used Magiranger Ring to change Zenkaizer into Zenkaizer Black. TV STORY-Ep. 29: The Ultimate Hospitality! Ryugi is Serious!
• Used offscreen by Rei Gushima to appear to Assam. TV STORY-Ep. 30: Noble and Powerful! The New Tyranno is a Prince
• Used by Rei Gushima to battle Rikuo Byakuya/GozyuLeon. TV STORY-Ep. 33: Choose Your World! The Ultimate Final Sword!
  • When Bellum was hit by a simultaneous Finish Finger by Rikuo Byakuya/GozyuLeon & Sumino Ichikawa/GozyuUnicorn, the Sentai Rings Rei collected were ejected from his body, with the Zenkaiger Ring going to GozyuUnicorn. TV STORY-Ep. 34: Scattered Battle Scars, Gray Glow

Notes

• Zenkaizer is the first non-Red main protagonist, though his clothes and suit design do feature Red as a prominent secondary color. As such, he is the first non-Red Ranger to appear in a Hand-Off which was previously exclusive to the color.
  • While he is usually shown alongside all of the other Sentai Reds in promotional material and merchandise featuring all Sentai leads, a few exceptions have opted to feature Zenkai Juran instead in order to show a true all-Sentai Red lineup.
• Zenkaizer's helmet features spots on his visor, which calls back to the early days of Sentai where helmet visors had to be perforated in order for the suit actors to see until the use of transparent materials became commonplace.
• In All Super Sentai Great Voting, Zenkaizer is ranked 11th in "Sentai Heroes".
