Jeramie Idmonarak Ne Brasieri (ジェラミー・イドモナラク・ネ・ブラシエリ Jeramī Idomonaraku Ne Burashieri) is a storyteller and the narrator of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. He is a Human/Bug Naraku -hybrid who transforms into Spider Kumonos (スパイダークモノス Supaidā Kumonosu), the White Ranger and Sixth Ranger of the King-Ohgers. After the death of Desnarak VIII, Jeramie becomes the king of In-between Land Bug Naraku.
History[]
Background[]
According to Chikyuu legend, five heroes saved humanity 2000 years ago from the Bug Naraku and started their own respective kingdoms. In actuality, there existed a sixth, with Jeramie being the son of the sixth hero. For a millennium, Jeramie has traveled Chikyuu, referring to himself as a "storyteller" and tasked with the King-Ohger legend. TV STORY-Ep. 11: Mysterious! The Man in the Spider Mask
It is later revealed that Jeramie is an illegitimate child birthed from the forbidden love of the sixth King-Ohger and the Bug Naraku princess Nephila, which caused the sixth King-Ohger's story to be removed from the legend to keep the image of the King-Ohgers as righteous heroes while Jeramie and his parents were excommunicated. The sixth hero's powers were sealed in the form of a mask which kept Jeramie's appearance concealed, turning him into the world's notorious trickster known as the Spider Mask. TV STORY-Ep. 12: The Sixth King After losing his father as a child, he witnessed the citizens of Bug Naraku are instead brutally wounded his mother, after she sealed away One-Hit Shogun Daigorg. Before Nephila succumbed to her wound, she gave Jeramie her Venomix Shooter. TV STORY-Ep. 31: 2000 Years of Love During the Wrath of God incident fifteen years ago, Jeramie hibernated for a year where he became an exhibit as a non-decaying corpse. TV STORY-Ep. 14: Together with Moffun
Personality[]
Perhaps out of pride as a storyteller, Jeramie has a distinctive way of communicating and speaks in a unique style that does not use words to get to the point, forcing Gira and others he meets to "read between the lines" even when there are no such lines. This makes him difficult to smoothly communicate with and to be understood by others. He is a pacifist who dislikes conflict and tries to remain neutral in the battle between the King-Ohgers and Bug Naraku, but his true intentions were a mystery during his first appearance.[1]
But it was later revealed that he wished the Bug Naraku to coexist with mankind after dealing with 2 millennia of loneliness coupled with how his family, the sixth hero and a Buganarak princess, were excommunicated and exiled for falling in love with one another and the fact that he, their illegitimate child had to spread the remade story with his father removed to many across the land while facing prejudice.

- Thread Manipulation: Jeramie is able to bind people in threads with a simple finger snap.

However, this does not grants invulnerability as he would still be susceptible of getting killed. The crystal was later extracted by Hymeno with her King's Proof ability, which would also permanently removing his eternal life while also allowing Jeramie to use the crystal as a bullet to give Glodi Leucodium true life to make him susceptible to death.

Relationships[]
Allies[]
Rangers[]
- King-Ohgers
- Gira Husty/Kuwagata Ohger: Jeramie took Gira's casket away from Shugodom, thus foiling his initial plan to return. Gira never understood Jeramie's cryptic meanings when they first met, but Gira comes to trust Jeramie after listening to God Kabuto, God Scorpion and God Hopper closeness with God Tarantula.
- Yanma Gast/Tombo Ohger: Jeramie knew Yanma's mentor, Gin, who taught him so much technology. Although Jeramie was displeased for Yanma using his mother's relic - the Venomix Shooter, for a failed whopee cushion prank on Rcules. The second time Yanma successfully Pranked Rcules using the very same method as a revenge during Daigorg emergence, Jeramie comes to enjoy the pranks, exclaiming that his mother will be pleased by this and the two become close ever since.
- Hymeno Ran/Kamakiri Ohger: Hymeno accused Jeramie for the murder of her parents due to Guardian Cicada's presence and the cause of the Fury of the Gods incident. Revealing that Jeramie wasn't there at the time by Rita, Hymeno forgives Jeramie as he proves his worth against the Bug Naraku .
- Rita Kaniska/Papillon Ohger: Rita had the chance to judge Jeramie on two separate occassions. On the other hand, Jeramie find Rita's habit to scream whether things don't go their way as amusing
- Kaguragi Dybowski/Hachi Ohger: Jeramie hears about Kaguragi's sister Suzume held captive and was forced to serve Rcules. Both of them become close due to their deceptive nature, as shown during Gira and Rcules second Trial by Combat.
- Rcules Husty/Ohkuwagata Ohger: Initially Jeramie acts neutral towards Rcules due to their aligning goal with Human and Bug Naraku alliance. However, Jeramie is proven wrong as Rcules monopolize the truce by giving Desnarak VIII the facility to revive Daigorg, and allowing the Bug Naraku to attack other countries except Shugoddom. This revelation put Jeramie in a state of depression briefly. After Gira finally returned to public view, Jeramie viewed Rcules as a 'Brat' and shared enemy.
Family[]
Others[]
- Gerojim: A Bug Naraku who Jeramie spares, becoming his ally & servant in the coming of him becoming king, due to their half-hearted natures. Gerojim not only saves Jeramie from being killed by Hymeno, but also acts as Jeramie's personal informant as he notices his new beneficiary about Daigorg revival, thus allowing Jeramie to know Rcules true nature. When Jeramie is dispirited once knowing that the legend of King Ohger he wrote ultimately become the catalyst of Desnarak (and by extension, the Bug Naraku empire) villainous nature, Gerojim reprimand Jeramie about the duty as a King, thus allowing Jeramie to find a new resolve to become the new Bug Naraku King.
- Naraka King Desnarak VIII: Jeramie's enemy and relative of his family, who he tries to persuade in stopping the war due to his misjudgments of the story. After God KingOhger successfully thwarted Desnarak plan, Jeramie challenged him for the leadership of Bug Naraku Empire.

Portrayal[]
- Jeramie is portrayed by Masashi Ikeda (池田 匡志 Ikeda Masashi), who is also the narrator of the series. As Spider Kumonos, his suit actor is Masashi Takada (高田 将司 Takada Masashi).
Design[]
- The design of Spider Kumonos' visor is based on the overhead view of a spider, the front legs are extended and connected forming a type of circular crest.
Etymology[]
Hence his spider motif, Jeramie's full name is mostly associated with the extinct species of arachnids.
- Jeramie's name is associated with Palaeotarbus jerami, with his name pronounced similar to the English name "Jeremy".
- Jeramie's parents' last names "Idmonarak Ne Brasieri" is associated with Idmonarachne brasieri.
- "Kumonos" comes from the Japanese word for "spider cobweb" (蜘蛛の巣 Kumo no Su).
Legend Sentai Devices[]
The Spider Kumonos Ranger Key (スパイダークモノスレンジャーキー Supaidā Kumonosu Renjā Kī) is Jeramie's personal Ranger Key released as part of the "Ranger Key Memorial Edition - Anniversary Heroes and King-Ohger Set". It is unknown if it will appear in a future crossover. Of course as with all Ranger Keys, should it exist, it would be able to transform one, i.e. Gokai Silver, into Spider Kumonos.[2]
The Spider Kumonos Rider Chemy Card (スパイダークモノスライドケミーカード Supaidā Raido Kemī Kādo) is a Ride Chemy Card based on Spider Kumonos that is compatible with the Kuwagata Ohger Ride Chemy Card when used in Kamen Rider Gotchard's Gotchardriver.[3]
Notes[]
- Jeramie's conception as the series narrator came when head writer Minato Takano suggested to the producer Takahito Omori to end the series with a character narrating the events from the beginning. However Omori rejected this idea as he found it identical to Kamen Rider Build's finale (in which Omori was also the producer), where the main character Sento Kiryu starts narrating his series events in the final scene.[4]
- Jeramie is the first spider-themed Ranger in Super Sentai.
- Jeramie is also the first Ranger to be a series narrator.
- In episode 11, Jeramie is credited as "Spider Mask" (蜘蛛仮面 Kumo Kamen).
- Spider Kumonos, as a member of King-Ohger is:
- The only one to not be themed on an insect, instead an arachnid.
- The only one to not have "Ohger" in his Ranger name.
- The only one to have a collectible device as part of his transformation gear, that being the Kumonos Keys.
- In some promotional material, Spider Kumonos is erroneously spelled Spider Kumonosu.[5]
- Jeramie is the only King-Ohger to be related to the Bug Naraku.
- Jeramie is also the oldest member of the King-Ohger with an age of over 2.000 years.
- Technically speaking, Jeramie is the first Sentai Sixth Ranger to be in the season from the start.
