Hyakunin Isshu Jamen (ヒャクニンイッシュ邪面 ) was a Hyakunin Isshu-themed gold body Jamenshi of the Dark Empire Yodonheim whose dark energy was used to release Heian-kyo Basra.
History[]
The Hyakunin Isshu Jamen was sent by Carantula to torture the people of Earth with one of their most beloved traditions and use it to wipe them out so that Yodonheim could conquer the planet. The Hyakunin Isshu Jamen was first seen attacking Sector U7 in Tokyo and began to trap terrorize random citizens when Juru, Tametomo and Sena arrived only to be completely ignored by the annoying Jamen who stuck various karuta cards on the crowd's foreheads. Sena recognised the ramblings from a game she played as a child but had little time to contemplate since Shiguru and Sayo then arrived and they transformed to fight the Jamenshi. However, they were forced to stand still when the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen challenged them to a game of finding the real karuta card and he began to read out poem seventeen from the (AKA "Impassioned Gods"). Luckily, Sena recognised it because she knew it ended with "the red mists" so was able to grab and throw the card into the air where it exploded safely. Sena was horrified that a seemingly normal card just exploded so he explained that they'd blow the victim's head off if he managed to read out the whole verse before the actual card was removed. He resumed his game with another card and read out poem 74 (AKA "though I prayed") but she knew it ended with "I never asked" and was thus able to rescue another victim by slashing it off with her Kiramai Sword. Enraged, he reminded her that failure was death for the victims before reading out poem 68 (AKA "may the time") but she saved that victim too (who would later turned out to be her old friend Makino who she played karuta with in the past). The Hyakunin Isshu Jamen prepared to use a fourth card but Shiguru used his Kiramai Sword to knock the cards into the air where the remaining three Kiramagers obliterated them with thier Kiramai Shots which made all of his victim's karuta cards vanish as well. Now defenceless, the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen was forced to retreat by throwing a citizen and running off.
Later, the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen attacked four of the Kiramagers at Makino's dojo just as they finished learning all about the Hyakunin Isshu only this time Galza had accompanied him to do the card reading. With the Kiramagers reeling from this revelation, Galza was able to successfully read off 10 (AKA "friends and strangers" which allowed the Jamenshi to trap Tametomo in a karuta card. Sena and Juru quickly arrived after a drive around in Mashin Mach to clear her head just as Makino and the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen knelt facing one another whilst Galza began to read off poem 33 (AKA "spring has come") but Makino identified the card and nullified the Jamen's powers. Unfortunately, Galza used his dark magic to corrupt a karuta card to reflect and insult Sena which trapped Sayo and Shiguru as well, transforming all other karuta cards into make-believe ones in the process. The Hyakunin Isshu Jamen then revealed that his game ("Yodon 100 Verses") was named as such because it was thier own special brand of karuta so they could pretty much make up whatever they wanted. Sena just had time to get advice from Makino before she too was trapped by the Jamenshi for failing to get the last card at which time she challenged the Jamen to a play-off.
Sometime later, she arrived in a dojo and knelt with the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen as Galza began reading off a card about destruction being the Yodon way which Sena got right before the Jamenshi to his utter shock. She won another eight games this way to the Jamen's despair as he complained that her knowledge should be impossible but she then revealed that she was just going off which ones he leaned towards. She then won the last two games before he could even move and he was horrified at his own defeat as he was forced to release his captives. Enraged, the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen kicked away all of the karuta cards and abandoned his game gimmick entirely in place of brawling at which point the Kiramagers transformed again. Sena went first with three slashes and a swoop kick but the Jamen dodged all of them, was unfazed by blasts from Tametomo and Sayo's Kiramai Shots, and blocked Shiguru and Juru's Kiramai Swords before punching them down. Sena took him on a second time but, though he did deflect several blows, she dove behind him and slashed out his legs and hit him with a head strike and bashed him back with a hit from the hilt. He then unleashed his Hundred Verses Shuriken but energy slashes from all of the Kiramai Shots obliterated the karuta cards and meant that he had used up his entire arsenal of cards. Now defenceless, the Hyakunin Isshu Jamen was finished off by the Kiramai Rush Stream with him only being able to bemoan his defeat before falling to his knees and exploding.
Personality[]
The Hyakunin Isshu Jamen was a very playful and energetic Jamenshi who even outright ignored the arrival of Juru, Sena, and Tametomo in favour of tormenting random people. He also loved to toy and play games with his victim's to the point that he started playing even when the Kiramagers showed up. However, his undoing came because Sena's childhood experiences allowed her to sabotage his schemes and undo his plans.
