This article is about a villain in Mahou Sentai Magiranger. |
Hades Wise Goddess Gorgon (冥賢神ゴーゴン Meifukenshin Gōgon, 35-40) was the slyest of the Gods.
History[]
She became the third to challenge the Magirangers after conning Hades God Toad into fighting the Magirangers, knowing it was her turn to fight after Hades God Cyclops after getting a brief glimpse of the Book of Prophecy relating to herself, intimidating Hades God Toad to in hopes that his actions on the surface would ensure that she won't have any trouble. When her turn begins, Gorgon uses her shield to conjure forth snakes and scatter them so that when there's enough of them, they would bite everyone with Gorgon using her shield to turn the bitten to stone. After displaying her plan by petrifying Smoky the Magical Cat, she forces Urara Ozu, Makito Ozu, Tsubasa Ozu, and Hikaru to fight her in her Marudeyouna world, "Gorgon's Garden", where she devoured them.
She then went to the surface world to get the powerless Kai Ozu and Houka Ozu, but Hades Goddess Sphinx cured the two and Gorgon's plans began to fall apart as Kai and Houka freed their captured siblings and Hikaru from her stomach with a new spell. Gorgon grew large to trigger her Divine Punishment only for Magical IronMan Travelion to incinerate her shield, dispelling all of the snakes she conjured before she is killed by MagiLegend, restoring Smoky back to his mobile self. As Gorgon died, she declared that her successor Hades God Drake would avenge her, which ultimately went unfulfilled as Drake himself would also be killed in battle.
Personality[]
Gorgon was the slyest of the Hades Gods and was known to be quite a cheater and very much like Drake not completely loyal to the established laws of the gods. This was shown when she told Drake where MagiShine would be training, so he could inflict his destructive wrath on him. When asked by Sphinx on what she was doing, her sly nature allowed her to slide past that question with lie and deceit. When her time of judgement came to pass, she behind the eyes of the other Gods used the mystical book that foretold her destiny. This too she kept a secret. Soon her manipulative skills came to use as Toad was coaxed into switching Houka and Kai's bodies. Overall going against the rules and making her work easier, but later reversed by Sphinx. In the end her slyness to cheat was her downfall at the hands of the Magirangers.
