Gym Grumer (ジムグルマー Jimu Gurumā) is a Gym Equipment-themed Kurumaju from the Great Space Invasion Running Team Hashiriyan.
History
First Attack
At a gym, Cannonborg then picks up the legendary sword of Reflector and says he will be busy making more modifications so the Trio needs to get back to work gathering Ghassolin. The Trio are not enthused about this, with Decotrade and Itasha irritated at their captain for hurting Yaiyai. Itasha then reluctantly turns the treadmill she was using into the Gym Grumer with her Ignition Key. Jyo’s body building friends are in the gym and are startled by the sight of the monster, simultaneously screaming in terror and flexing their abs and biceps in different poses.
The Trio and Gym Grumer drive the people in the gym outside and manage to trick them into their hellish training as they all have super heavy dumbbell weights attached to their hands. None of the athletes except Jyo’s bodybuilder friends can lift them and begin to panic, but the agony of being trapped in a workout causes everyone to start screaming for help as Gym absorbs their Ghassolin. The Rangers arrive and Ishiro takes charge, with the team dodging Gym’s attacks and then performing a floating transformation into their suits.
The sight of the Boonboomgers calms the civilians down and the Ghassolin they are creating dries up, much to the annoyance of the Trio. Jyo and Mira guide the people to safety and then the team has an intense battle with Neziretta swarming them while Gym bombards the area with explosive dumbbells. Gym then knocks the team off balance and hits them with weights, then pins the Rangers down with barbells, though Genba comically is still able to stand with multiple dumbbells on his body, though he knows the experience will leave him sore tomorrow. Ishiro is able to pump his biceps up and down with the weights but they are so heavy he is unable to move anything else. The Boonboomgers were then tortured and pinned down by the Hashiriyan, with Ittasha tickling Mira and Jyo being attacked by Yaiyai as he tries to get the barbell off of him.
Luckily, Taiya races in and quickly gets out of the car to transform and fight, shooting the enemy forces to drive them back long enough for his teammates to free themselves. Despite this the others are momentarily exhausted from their weightlifting, leaving Taiya to fend off Gym Grumer by himself until Sakito suddenly arrives. The rouge Violet Ranger has a proposal, asking the Boonboomgers to hire him to their and the Trio’s bewilderment as he transforms into Bun Violet.
Sakito offers a demonstration of his abilities as a “trial run”, offering his help for free just this once. Jyo and Mira object to this as he is clearly trying to take advantage of the team, but Genba says it can’t hurt to see what Sakito can do while Taiya also rejects Sakito saying that they can handle the enemy. Sakito decides to intervene anyway and quickly decimates the Neijiretta using his speed and afterimage illusions.
Gym Grumer tries to hit Sakito with a shockwave from his barbell, which the Formula 1 fighter dodges and then blasts oncoming weight projectiles with his blowgun’s Gatling function, followed by using it in sniper mode to blast a hole through Gym Grumer’s chest. Gym is then launched into the air by Sakito’s tires and blasted into oblivion by the Byun Byun Arrow Drive. Sakito boasts about how fast he is to the Boonboomgers, but YaiYai interrupts by going berserk again. This time however, YaiYai used the Highway Beam, a new device which catalyzes Ghassolin to revive monsters without the need to enter Highway Space by creating an energy field that gives off a similar effect to entering said space directly.
The Rangers launch the Boonboom Cars and form Boonboomger Robo, with Byundi and Sakito joining them as Byunbyum Mach. Byundi races ahead of Bun Bun as Sakito initiates a boost, ramming Gym Grumer as they outpace their enemy’s projectiles. They are about to finish off Gym when Cannonborg orders his monster to use the modifications he gave him to stop them. Gym transforms into a giant treadmill, trapping Byunbyum Mach on its track and throwing garbage to cause its rear tire to blowout. Sakito sees Gym Grumer increase the speed of his treadmill with the control panel on his chest and decides to do a boost jump to ram it, shutting off Gym’s Infinity Treadmill form and reverting him to normal. Byundi is still injured and with a busted tire from being on the treadmill, with Bun Bun offering to help him as his pit crewman, rolling a new tire out and quickly putting it on him with the help of a ratchet attachment to his screwdriver. Byundi thanks Bun Bun for the help and boosts back onto the battlefield with Sakito changing him into Byun Byun Mach Robo and destroying Gym Grumer with the ByunByun Finish.
TV STORY-Bakuage 18: I Don't Like the Settler
Second Attack
Soccer Ball Grumer commentates on the match and introduces the teams as the BWCFA chairmen seat on their reserved seats. The 5 vs 5 players lineup consists of Taiya, Ishiro, Jyo, Genba and Sakito on the Boonboomger side (with Mira, Bundorio and Byun-D as substitutes), and Soccer Ball Grumer, Super Great Gym Grumer and the Sanseaters on the Hashiriyan side. Mira asks Byun-D if Big Bang Soccer is played like Earth soccer, but he tells her to see it for herself.
The game begins, and Soccer Ball Grumer manages to snatch the ball from Genba and score a goal with his Armageddon Shot, injuring Jyo the goalkeeper and send him flying. Mira replaces Jyo as the BWCFA chairman asks his vice-chairman to go get them drinks. The match continues, but Genba and Sakito start fighting over the ball. Decotrade tackles them and gets the ball, which Mira thinks is a foul but Byun-D states that it's typical Big Bag Soccer play. Itasha kicks the ball to the goalpost using her Itasha Switch Shot, but Mira successfully catches it thanks to her prior housekeeping job. However, when she looks back at her hand, she notices that she held Yarucar instead while Itasha leisurely kicks the ball into the goalpost, hence why she called her move the "Switch" shot. The BWCFA chairman cheer on the Hashiriyans as the chairman tells his vice-chairman to go get him an hot dog.
When the match continues, Genba and Sakito fight over the ball once again, prompting an Annoyed Taiya to transform into his Bun Red 119 form to cool them down with Hose Impact. While Soccer mocked the Boonboomgers that they fight against each other at a crucial time, Ishiro scores a goal against the Hashiriyans, setting the score to 2-1 in favor of the Hashiriyans. The Chairman is livid upon this fact and accidentally kicked the metal bench, causing him pain. Taiya decides to swap Genba and Sakito with Bundorio and Byun-D, much to the duo shock and disbelied. Spindo contacts Soccer Ball Grumer and tells him to get his act together, claiming he hates getting passed on, to which Soccer Ball Grumer complies. Right when Bundorio kicks the ball to the goalpost, Soccer Ball Grumer makes it disappear. Mira and Super Great Gym Grumer appear on on a rooftop, to which Byun-D notes once again that this is typical Big Bang Soccer play since the field is literally an universe (much to Mira's Dismay), so the other players rush there.
The Boonboomgers and Hashiriyans keep playing, though this time the goalposts are swapped for basketball hoops. Right before Taiya scores a goal using a coordinated Hat Trick, Soccer Ball Grumer switches the field again. A woman (identified as Sato Shiho by Bundorio) is walking her dog when suddenly it's replaced by the soccer ball. The players from both side arrive to get the ball back, causing her to emit large amounts of Ghassolin before Soccer Ball Grumer switches the field again, with Shiho getting her dog back, much to her relief. This time, the players appear in a tire shop, with two workers placing tires as the goalposts while other customers run away, emitting Ghassolin as they did. Taiya decides to purchase the whole business as the duo worker immediately agreed in a rather comical way, much to Soccer's disbelief. Right before Taiya score an equalizer, Soccer Ball Grumer switches the field again.
In another field, Bundorio and Byun-D are knocked away trying to block a shot, though they signal to the Boonboomgers that they're okay. Genba and Sakito return to replace them and transform. Taiya transforms the Boonboomgers into Champion Boonboomgers, and Jyo lends his Champion Jacket to Sakito so he could use it. Genba and Sakito use their speed and Champion Customize to catch the ball, and thank Taiya for cooling them up and helping them realize what they're really playing for. Soccer Ball Grumer calls Neziretta to block them, but while signaling to each other that they'll play soccer together in the future, Genba and Sakito use Bakuage Champion Twin Cam Drive to score another goal, evenly matched the score into 2-2. The BWCFA vice-chairman belatedly returns with sausages (as he eat his portion beforehand), only to learn from the chairman that the Hashiriyans have lost the game. The vice-chairman accidentally steps on his boss' injured foot out of shock over learning that, causing the Chairman to scream in pain.
Spindo angrily reprimand Soccer Ball Grumer to get up, so he helps Super Great Gym Grumer up as Yarucar enlarges both Kurumaju for a gigantic soccer match. Bundorio and Byun-D, having held their injuries somehow by performing Shaolin Poses, transform into Boonboomger Robo 119 and Byunbyum Mach Robo to settle the match. While Soccer shoots several illusory balls at them, Byunbyum Mach Robo promptly shoots all the bullets. Boonboomger Robo 119 then soundly defeats the Soccer Ball Grumer using Bakuage Rescue: Boonboom Finish, turning the Noisy Grumer into a regular, giant sized soccer ball. The duo robo pass the vulnerable Grumer between each other, and Boonboomger Robo 119 kick him right at Super Great Gym Grumer, destroying both Kurumaju and the Goal post, finally winning the match by 2-3 at the Boonboomger fabor. The soccer ball from which Soccer Ball Grumer returns to Spindo's mansion at normal size and tears a hole in the wall, leaving Spindo no choice but begrudgingly accepts their loss.
