This article is about a location in Gosei Sentai Dairanger. |
The Gorma Palace (ゴーマ宮 Gōmakyū) was the headquarters of the Gorma Tribe, primarily during its modern "revival".
Layout[]
The Gorma Palaces appearance was similar to that of an inverted pyramid which could fly in the air by its own power. The structure was usually surrounded by rotating "orbs", which were in actuality the eyes of Gorma Emperor XV allowing him to see everything happening to his people. The inside of the structure had many rooms, most notably a great meeting area where the Gorma elite encountered one another or await meetings with other Gorma, including any special encounters with the emperor himself. There was also an area which appears like an outdoor battle arena within the building where ceremonial combat occurs, such as the battle to be emperor heir between Chief Officer Jia Xu and Lieutenant Colonel Shadam.Although typically one could be teleported directly to the castle, there were other special entrance ways to reach it, including one used by Master Kaku (due to his own Gorma connections) within the same underground base the Dairanger themselves used.
Location History[]
Past[]
The Gorma Palace was the base of the Gorma Tribe for centuries from which they fought a war against the Dai Tribe. However, they were defeated in a climactic final battle so Gorma XV withdrew the Gorma Palace into space.
Dairanger[]
After repeated failures by the Gorma Triumvirate to destroy the Dairangers, the Gorma Palace comes to Earth and Gorma XV makes himself known to the Triumverate and introduces them to his body guards; the Gorma Four Deva Kings to aid him in his battles against the Dairangers. TV STORY-Ep. 20: First Opening Of The Gorma Palace
Due to the association of the Gorma with their war with the Dai Tribe and the power that they possess, the Gorma Palace becomes a target for the powerful neutral god Daijinryuu which attacks it alongside the Dairangers and humanity in general to punish their eternal war. TV STORY-Ep. 37: You Have to See It!! Enormous One
Daijinryuu only stops attacking the Gorma Palace and leaves Earth for the Moon once the Gorma Emperor and Master Kaku call a ceasefire. TV STORY-Ep. 38: Huh!! A Ceasefire!?
The Gorma Palace is where Lieutenant Colonel Shadam betrays the Gorma Emperor (now revealed to be a puppet) and gains control of the Earth Shaking Jewel which he plans to use to conquer the universe. Sensing this, Daijinryuu returns to Earth to destroy the planet once and for all which forces the Dairangers to launch a final assault on the planet. TV STORY-Ep. 49: The Final Showdown
After multiple attacks sustained attacks from Daijinryuu, and with the Gorma in upheaval due to Shadam's revelation that he controlled the entire civilization in the form of clay dolls, the Gorma Tribe falls apart. The Dairangers barely escape as a sustained lightning blast from Daijinryuu disintegrates the Gorma Palace though they paciify the monster by sacrificing their power jewels which gets it to leave Earth for good. TV STORY-Final Ep.: Let's Go!
Notes[]
- Though the Gorma Palace wasn't used for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, with modified footage of the Bandora Palace being used, instead footage of it being attacked was incorporated into the two-part episode "The Power Transfer" when Serpentera destroyed the Deserted Planet.
