Icon-zyurangerThis article is about a footsoldier in Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger.

The Golem Soldiers (ゴーレム兵 Gōremu Hei) were the grunts and footsoldiers of the Bandora Gang, sculpted by Pleprechaun from clay and animated through being baked in the Nendora Machine (ネンドーラマシン Neodōra Mashin) oven.

History[]

Past[]

The Golem Soldiers are the chosen foot soldiers of Witch Bandora, an evil witch who sought the extinction of the dinosaurs millions of years ago and fought with the five tribes that worshipped them.

Zyuranger[]

Following her defeat and exile, Bandora continues using the Golems as her foot soldiers after she is accidentally freed in the year 1992. Tvicon TV STORY-Ep. 1: The Birth

Golems come in two types, the standard grey-colored golem soldiers and the more darkly-colored Captain Golems, which are distinguished by their armored, rocky skin. These soldiers frequently clash with the Zyurangers, the five champions of the five tribes. Although these creatures have greater numbers, they quickly become no match for the Zyurangers.

This situation changes when Bandora discovers an underground supply of Dokiita Clay, which allows Pleprechaun to create the more powerful Dokiita Golems. These new warriors are nearly indestructible so Geki and Burai are sent on a quest to obtain the Thunder Slingers, powerful weapons that can destroy the Dokitta Golems. Despite this setback, Bandora continues using the Dokitta Golems as her army until she and her followers are defeated by the Zyurangers and banished from Earth. Tvicon TV STORY-Final Ep.: Viva Dinosaurs

Super Sentai World[]

The Golem Soldiers are one of five groups of revived Foot Soldiers along with the Batzler Soldiers, Grinam Soldiers, Cotpotros and Dorodoros which are summoned by Zaigan in Emperor Daidas' invasion of Earth. The evil army is wiped out by a gathering of the five Super Sentai: Zyuranger, Fiveman, Jetman, Dairanger, and Kakuranger. Tvicon TV STORY-Super Sentai World

Combined Combatant[]

Several Golem Soldiers are part of an army of past enemy grunts that fight the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which houses the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merge to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proves to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers use the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon. Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters[]

Through his hatred of dinosaurs and Super Sentai, Space War God Borudosu amasses a horde of Golem Soldiers led by Neo-Grifforzer. Together with Neo-Geilton's Barmia Soldiers, Vaglass' Buglars, and the Deboth Army's Zorima, they form one massive foot soldier army which is ultimately wiped out by the Zyurangers, Abarangers and Kyoryugers. Personality[]

The Golem Soldiers do not talk or show any feelings; they only communicate in grunts towards their opponent and each other. Their only goal is to mindlessly wipe out any who oppose Witch Bandora, in this case the Zyurangers.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Teleportation: The Golems could teleport onto the scene upon command. The ultimate range of this ability is unknown, but they can at least travel from Bandora's Palace on the moon to Earth.
  • Size-Changing: Golems could shrink themselves down to the size of dolls to confuse their foes.
  • Weapon Formation: Golems could shape their hands into crude weapons which were most commonly swords or clubs.

Abilities[]

Weaknesses[]

to be added

Arsenal[]

  • Fists: The typical Golem had no weapons and covered their hands and feet with simple gloves and boots.
  • Right Ball Hands: Golems could shape their right hands into large balls which they used as clubs.
  • Left Rock Hand Blades: Golems could shape their right hands into large razor sharp blade-like rock formations in place of their left hands.

Behind the Scenes[]

Portrayal[]

  • The Golem Soldiers are voiced by Kazuhiko Kishino (岸野 一彦 Kishino Kazuhiko). Their suit actors are portrayed by Motokuni Nakagawa (中川 素州 Nakagawa Motokuni), Hirofumi Fukuzawa (福沢 博文 Fukuzawa Hirofumi), and Kiyoshi Hayashi (林潔 Hayashi Kiyoshi).

Design[]

  • Their design is based on the golem.
  • Originally, Captain Golems were meant to be the main enemy foot soldiers for Zyuranger. However, since it was too expensive to mass-produce multiple suits, they were instead replaced with the more simplified spandex suits. A small number of suits were made for use as the lead foot soldiers due to the designer being fond of their appearance.

Concept Art[]

Etymology[]

  • The golem originates from Hebrew mythology as a mindless, soulless automaton formed of earth or clay. Golems are said to be bound to the will of those who create or summon them. That is why the Golem Soldiers have this motive.
