Dai Sentai Goggle V (大戦隊ゴーグルファイブ, Dai Sentai Gōguru Faibu), or Goggle Five^[1], also simply known as Goggle V (ゴーグルファイブ, Gōguru Faibu), are the 6th Super Sentai, or on occasion, referred to as the 4th team. (See notes) They were initially formed by Dr. Hideki Hongo, the founder of the Future Science Laboratory, to fight the Dark Science Empire Deathdark.

History

Goggle V

Ever since ancient times, the Dark Science Empire Deathdark has always been lying in shadows, manipulating the progress of various sciences that usually led to the destruction of many human lives, as well as being responsible for the collapse of various ancient civilizations. In the present time, Dr. Hideki Hongou, already aware of the existence of Deathdark, formed the Future Science Laboratory in order to one day counter the rise of Deathdark and teach the future about constructive and good science.

During one of his trips to Wolfborg Castle in Germany, Dr. Hongou was ambushed by Deathdark soldiers, with its leader, Führer Taboo, declaring that the time has come for Deathdark to launch its goal of world conquest. Hongou was fortunately near a passing-by word class explorer, Ken'ichi Akama. Once the assault ended, Hongou drafted Ken'ichi to become the first member of Great Squadron Goggle V and along with the already-formed Computer Boys And Girls, gathered four more individuals to complete the team. Thus their battle to fight evil by Deathdark began.

Once one of Deathdark's great generals Grand Marshall Deathmark arrived, the attacks by Deathdark became more intense, culminating in one of his plans to have one of his subordinates (Mazurka) successfully infiltrate the Future Science Laboratory and blew it up. Despite the destruction of their base, the Goggle V evacuated to a smaller scale base and launched a counterattack, which eventually defeated not only Deathdark, but also Führer Taboo and ended the threat of Deathdark forever.

Turboranger

Goggle V joined up with Battle Fever, Denzimen, Sun Vulcan, Dynamen, Biomen, Changemen, Flashmen, Maskmen, and the Livemen, to stand behind the newest Sentai, the Turborangers, as they faced off against the Hundred Boma Tribes. TV STORY-Counting on You! Turboranger

Gokaiger

Years later, the Space Empire Zangyack invaded Earth. This threat was so great that all of the first 34 Super Sentai, including Goggle V, were needed to oppose them. The 34 Sentai put up a valiant fight against the ground forces, but when the Zangyack fleet itself attacked them, Akarenger told everyone to combine their powers and save the Earth. This destroyed the Zangyack fleet and resulted in the loss of their powers, which resurfaced as Ranger Keys, that were dispersed throughout the universe.

The keys were collected by AkaRed, and later utilized by the 35th Super Sentai, the Gokaigers, a group of five people from different planets who came to Earth in search of the Greatest Treasure in the Universe. TV STORY-Ep. 1: The Space Pirates Appear When the Gokaigers joined forces with the Goseigers against the revived Black Cross Führer, now known as the Black Cross King, they were addressed by Akarenger, along with several other representatives of past Sentai teams, including Kanpei, who told the Gokaigers and Goseigers that somewhere in space, love, courage and hope, as well as justice are still being passed on. As with the other legends present, he granted the greater power of his team to the Gokaigers. Super Hero Taisen

Dimensional wall - Liveman, Goggle V, Maskman, Jetman, Fiveman — Goggle V, alongside the Livemen, the Maskmen, Jetmen, and Fivemen, emerge through a dimensional wall.

Goggle V, among the majority of the Super Sentai heroes, were caught up in the "Super Hero Taisen" incident. They were one of the five surviving Sentai, the rest having been seemingly wiped out by Kamen Rider Decade, who was apparently hunting the Sentai teams as Great Leader of Dai-Shocker. The surviving Sentai gathered before what appeared to be Akarenger, who was supposed to have been defeated by Decade, and were met by Kamen Rider #1, who had been defeated by Emperor Marvelous of Dai-Zangyack, with five surviving Riders. Facing off, Akarenger and Rider #1 decided that it was time bring an end to the war between the Sentai and Riders, and so both sides engaged each other in a skirmish that was ended with the surviving Sentai being defeated by Rider #1 as Akarenger defeated the other Kamen Riders.

However, it was subsequently revealed that what appeared to be Akaranger and Rider #1 were actually Gokai Red and Decade in disguise respectively. They had infact created the war between Super Sentai and Kamen Riders to make the two evil organizations believe that all the heroes were defeated when they were actually sent to wait in the dimensional rift. When Tsukasa and Marvelous' ruse was revealed, Goggle V appeared with the other Super Sentai through the dimensional wall, they then fought alongside all the other Sentai teams and Kamen Riders against the alliance of Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack. Zyuohger

The Space Pirates Return

Evidently, Goggle V loaned their Ranger Keys - at the request of Gai Ikari - to the Gokaigers whom had temporarily returned to Earth to find and bestow the Great King's Credential to the Zyuohgers. A manifestation of the Goggle V team was summoned by Zenkaizer through the Goggle V Sentai Gear which allowed Zenkaizer and Juran to use ribbons to trip and shock Mushroom World. TV STORY-No. 2-kai! The Gao Beast is Troublesome!

The Dai Sentai Goggle V Ranger Keys (大戦隊ゴーグルファイブレンジャーキー Dai Sentai Gōguru Faibu Renjā Kī) are what became of the Goggle V team's powers after they along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.

Any of these keys allow a Gokaiger to assume the form of any of the Goggle V group.

The Goggle V Gear (ゴーグルファイブギア, Gōguru Faibu Gia) is one of many Sentai Gears used by the Zenkaigers to battle the Kikaitopia Dynasty Tojitendo. In particular, when used by a Zenkaiger's Geartlinger, the Goggle V Gear allows the user to access ribbons akin to those used by Goggle V. This in turn allows the user to catch the enemy while performing a shocking attack to the enemy.

Daiki was an ancient ruins-themed Hitotsuki that possessed the Goggle V Avataro Gear. it could evolve into Daiking.

Notes

In reference to the show itself and the order it appears, Goggle V is considered the 6th Super Sentai Season. Later seasons such as Gokaiger and Zenkaiger also consider it the 6th. However, other material such as those created circa Liveman refers to it as the 4th team, as confirmed in the first episode of Turboranger.
Goggle V are the first Sentai team with its first five Rangers being Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink.
This is the last team to use cloth and scarves for the suits. After this series, the suits will be made of spandex, with the exception of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, which used faux leather.
Like the Denzimen, the Goggle V team members' surnames contain the Japanese names of their respective colors (Ken'ichi Akama, Kanpei Kuroda, Saburou Aoyama, Futoshi Kijima, and Miki Momozono)
