This article is about a villain in Power Rangers Time Force. |
- "That's it, this is too much for me. I'm OUTTA here! It's the deep freeze for me til this blows over!"
- ―Gluto before freezing himself.[src]
Gluto is a minor blue whale-themed mutant criminal. He is the quaternary antagonist of Power Rangers Time Force.
History[]
He joins the service of Ransik when he is saved from stasis by the arrival of the villain's forces. He aids Ransik in the 21st Century, serving as the dumb muscle of the mutant army. A running gag throughout the series is his crush on Ransik's daughter, Nadira, and his attempts to win her affection; he would always be promptly rejected. Gluto later finds the treacherous Frax, and brings in Ransik to collect him. During the final assault on the city, Gluto decides to freeze himself inside the prison, unwilling to stick around for whatever might happen and hoping that if his master succeeds in his conquests, he will be unfrozen. It is unknown if the Rangers found him at the prison and took him back to 3000 with Ransik and Nadira or if he remained in the past. But since the Cryo Prison returned to the future, it is more likely that he did too.
Power Rangers Super Legends[]
Gluto appears in the Nintendo DS version of Power Rangers: Super Legends in which he raids a laboratory. When Time Force is unable to apprehend him the original Omega Ranger travels through time with a special Omega Crystal to help capture the villain. However, Gluto shatters the crystal, thereby setting in motion the events of the game.
He reappears in Operation Overdrive, conversing with Moltor and admitting to Will that he had dropped a piece of the Omega Crystal after fleeing.
Gluto also serves as the boss of the Time Force arc. He patrols three levels, bouncing up and down them, fighting against the player (narratively-speaking, Trip). When he is on the same level as Trip, he will burp a large capture bubble towards him, which Trip must dodge. If sufficiently attacked, Gluto will launch himself into the air and perform a body-slam against all three levels, sending blasts along all three (similar to the blasts from the player's tornado attacks).
Personality[]
Gluto is very dim-witted.

Notes[]
- Unlike his Super Sentai counterpart (who was also the leader of the villains in Mirai Sentai Timeranger), Gluto is portrayed as an idiotic comic relief on Power Rangers, whereas Don Dolnero was a criminal mastermind.
- It is unknown whether or not he and the prison ship were found and dealt with by the Time Force Rangers.
