Gira Husty (ギラ・ハスティー Gira Hasutī) is the main protagonist of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. He is the younger half-brother of Rcules Husty and a forgotten member of the Shugodom royal family. In order to protect the people from his corrupt brother and the Bug Naraku Empire, he transforms into Kuwagata Ohger (クワガタオージャー Kuwagata Ōjā), the Red Ranger of the King-Ohgers, later ascending to the throne as the new king of Shugodom after defeating his brother in trial by combat.
It is later revealed that despite his familial ties, Gira is a (biological) immortal being and genetically the son of Dagded Dujardin, due to Dagded altering his genetics upon request of his parents while he was still an unborn fetus.

History[]
Background[]
Gira Husty was born the biological son of Uchu King Dagded Dujardin and the previous queen from the royal Shugodom family, as per Causus Husty's wishes to have the power to eliminate all his enemies, including the Bug Naraku Empire. The child was a gift from Dadged to the royal family for their 2000 year long loyalty and service to his empire, though he was unaware that Causus wanted this child to eliminate Dagded. Causus' wife passed away immediately following Gira's birth.
According to Gira's older half-brother Rcules Husty, Gira was kidnapped as a child and despite the family's best efforts, they failed to find him. As a result, they chose to omit all records of his existence; lest the family be subject to scandal, and dishonor should the incident come to light. However, in the present day following the reveal of Gira's true past, this was a foil to conceal Rcules' undercover operation.
Under the orders of Causus, Gira was fed the Shugod Soul of God Kuwagata, which was condensed into a sweet gelatin dessert Gira dubbed as "rainbow jururira". As a result, Gira lost his memories and began to exhibit violent tendencies. This was part of Causus' plan to feed Gira more Shugod Souls, transforming him into a tool for defeating Dagded though at the cost of his own humanity. However, before the king could continue any further, the plan was opposed by Rcules, who swore to protect his younger brother. TV STORY-Ep. 43: The Overlord's Deadly Sin
During the Wrath of God, as Rcules pledged his loyalty to Dagded, he arranged for Gira to be sent to an orphanage, both to protect him from the galactic king and to allow him to live a normal life. Growing up in the orphanage, Gira would eventually become friends with Devonica, and later on Kogane and Boone as well.
Becoming a Ranger[]
Although he lived in poverty at an orphanage, he was an innocent young man who admired the king, Rcules. However, when the Earth Empire Bug Naraku invaded, he became enraged at the king's arrogant and cruel nature. Gira rebelled against the world and became the "Evil King" who protects the people. This allowed him to awaken God Kuwagata to confront the Bug Naraku as Kuwagata Ohger, though at the cost of Rcules branding him a traitor. TV STORY-Ep. 1: I am the King
With Gira now on the run from the Shugodom, he encounters leaders of four nations: Yanma Gast, Hymeno Ran, and Kaguragi Dybowski while exploring their respective kingdom and learn each of their traits and fighting Bug Naraku along the way. TV STORY-Ep. 2: A King for Whose Sake TV STORY-Ep. 3: Devotion to Selfishness TV STORY-Ep. 4: A Lordly Reception
At his trial in front of Gokkan's sovereign Rita Kaniska, Gira eventually learns that he is in fact a crowned prince who is a legitimate heir to the Shugodom throne and Rcules's younger brother. With this revelation, Gira vowed to overthrow his tyrannical brother and restore peace to Shugodom. TV STORY-Ep. 5: The King of Winter is Coming
"Returning Home"[]
Upon returning home, he was overwhelmed by the people rejoicing that their prince was alive and safe and did not want the excess attention. Rcules greeted him in a false reunion in public and despite his numerous efforts to attack him in the castle, Gira was restrained. His older brother pretended to put the past behind him but then revealed he disabled the transformations and access to the Shugods. He demanded that the others Royals bow to him and surrender their sovereignty for him to use the King-Ohger, but Gira still had control of God Kuwagata and tried to defend Shugodom on his own. This turned out to be an elaborate trap by Rcules to frame Gira as an evil usurper.
Gira was successfully framed as an evil false King, and the people of Shugodom (with exception of the orphanage's children) were angry at Gira, supporting Rcules. Unable to fight with the King-Ohger, he steals the God Scorpion Soul from Kaguragi's hands, as he was giving it away to Rcules. Using the Shugod Soul, he takes control of the God Scorpion and fights Rcules' King-Ohger ZERO. Unfortunately, the new Shugoshin gets out of control and uses its poison to neutralize the other Shugods, which leads to Gira being considered by the people as evil incarnate.
Gira then meets again God Kabuto, who tells him that God Scorpion is his friend who needs to be reasoned. Gira is then brought to hide in the orphanage by Kogane and Boone, forbidden from going out because of his fugitive status. However, Bugnarök strikes again, while the Shugods are still out of the game. In the chaos, Gira finally goes out and meets with God Scorpion, asking her for a talk. The Shugoshin doesn't hear reason and strikes Gira to the ground. Yanma and Hymeno then come to help Gira, as full-fledged comrades.
When Gira comes back from the battle to the orphanage, he's ambushed by Rita and Shugodom executives for him to go into a trial battle with Rcules in 7 days. In the wait, Gira is imprisoned, and Rita asks him for what could have happened when he was kidnapped, so things could be fair. During the fight, Gerojim, disguised as Yanma, takes God Scorpion's poison in Gira's stead, leaving the people thinking Gira is on Bug Naraku's side. Rcules ends up defeating Gira, letting him fall down a cliff. (Ep. 8: King and Prince In Trial by Combat)
However, Gira is saved by his team...
Becoming the New King[]
After defeating Danjim as well as driving the Bug Naraku away from Shugodom, he along with the other kings confront Rcules. Because of both Yanma and Jeramie's whoopee cushion prank, Rita is unable to arrest him as a result, considering it even after the attack of Nkosopa. Seizing the opportunity, Gira challenges Rcules to a Trial by Combat. After initiating this, he is once again imprisoned in a jail cell in Gokkan since he's technically still labeled as a rebel. He arrogantly answered Rita that he will defeat Rcules and rule the world.
On the day of the Trial by combat, Rcules demands that if he win, Gira is locked in Gokkan prison forever, whilst Gira demands Rcules to surrender his throne if he win. Both party ended up agreeing each other term, with the battle are showed LIVE to the Shugodom people to see.
The duel begins, with Gira transforming into Kuwagata Ohger and Rcules transforming into King OhKuwagata Ohger, having the OhgerCrown in his possesion again (presumably taken from Gira as the latter is still a criminal). Initially appearing to be losing to Rcules, Gira is able to turn the tables and disarm Rcules of the OhgerCrown, returning him back to OhKuwagata Ohger. Using a charged attack from both the OhgerCalibur and Kings Weapon, he threw Rcules off balance and had his transformation cancelled. However Gira chose not to deal the finishing blow but asked Rcules to apologise to the people of Shugodom, in return Gira will surrender. He then reminded Rcules of the dream he told him and encouraged him to achieve that dream. As he led his guard down, Rcules attacked him out of retaliation, citing that Gira is still too naive as a royal, showing his true colors in the process. Once Rcules parry Gira long enough, a zealous Boshimar comes rushing with the Lance part of Ohger Crown Lance to finish Gira. Fortunately, the Lance is in fact, a counterfeit that Jeramie and Kaguragi made earlier that manages to blow Boshimar’s disguise, exposing Kamejim. As the other KingOhger proceeds to battle the appearing Bug Naraku and Kamejim, Rcules proceeds and attempt to kill Gira once more. However, Kaguragi appears and protects the latter, encouraging Gira to defeat Rcules while giving him the real Lance. Gira now has the support of the people of Shugodom, after they finally realize Rcules' true colors. Donning the OhgerCrown and becoming King Kuwagata Ohger once more, He proceeds to throw Rcules off a cliff the same way he did to Gira in their first Trial of Combat, presumably killing him. TV STORY-Ep. 20: Duel of King and King
Due to the second Trial of Combat resulting in his victory, Gira becomes the new king of Shugodom with the other royalties welcoming him as such.
Time Skip[]
After his rise to kinghood, Gira leads Shugodom taking and reforming it into a more peaceful nation and giving it stability unlike his brother tenure. He would also help the stand-in kings of the other nations run each kingdom all the while the original kings are being imprisoned. TV STORY-Ep. 27: Arrival of The Uchu King
Personality[]
Raised in an orphanage in the castle town, Gira has a pure and kind-hearted personality and is well-liked by all children. However, having always played the villain role in playing hero with them, he's developed a habit of speaking in a twisted manner, namely referring to the deliverance of true justice and compassion as "Evil". When he learned of King Rcules Husty's goal to "Prioritize the unification of Earth even at the expense of the people" in the name of "justice", he turned against the world by playing the role of the "Evil King" to destroy this so-called "justice".
As an orphan and never able to see how a king or queen is supposed to do their work, Gira was quick to make wrong judgements on the other kings and queens, viewing them as nothing but the same as Rcules. However, he will accept the king's and queen's worth once he knows on how happy their citizens are to follow their path and leadership. His adventure with Yanma Gast is one such example.
After the timeskip, he seems to have matured quite a lot, toning down the "Evil King" persona in favor of his true one, helped by the events of the 24th episode. Despite being royalty, Gira doesn't seem to enjoy the excess attention it brings, as when the people rejoiced over his return by tossing him in the air, he immediately demanded that they stop it because he didn't like it. TV STORY-Ep. 6: Return of the Prince
Despite only ever having it once as a child, Gira's favorite food is Rainbow Jururira, a type of gelatin desert (later revealed as God Kuwagata Soul). Gira refers to himself as Boku (僕 ), but he switches to using Ore-Sama (俺様 ) whenever he's playing his Evil King persona.
Non-Ranger Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Immortality: Being a creation of Dagded Dujardin, Gira is stated to be immortal, meaning that he cannot be killed by conventional means. However, as proven by prior DNA tests confirming Gira's and Rcules' biological ties, Gira still possesses a mostly human physiology, and is still susceptible to harm as per a standard human being. Also, according to Hymeno's diagnosis, his immortality is simply an immunity to death via an external cause. His body is still susceptible to aging and will eventually perish with time.
- Supernatural Regeneration: During the King-Ohgers' first usage of Ryouga Issen, Gira was shown to be able to recover from its strain faster than the others, albeit not necessarily to full vitality at that point. He is also the only one to not pass out after Dagded’s meteor attack even though he was heavy injured.
- God Kuwagata's Shugod Soul Empowerment: Gira possesses the soul of God Kuwagata in his body as he was fed its Shugod Soul in the form of gelatinous dessert dubbed "rainbow jururira". As a result, he was the only one able to awaken the Shugod and free it from its petrified state. He also does not require God Kuwagata to be physically in close promixity to be able to transform, as the Shugod's power is already inherently within him. In addition, Gira can share a portion of his powers at will, which he does to grant Prince the ability to transform into King Kyoryu Red.
- Shugod Communication: Due to his origins as being a creation of Dagded, and possibly also enhanced by himself containing God Kuwagata's soul, Gira is able to understand and communicate with every Shugod, even giving them nicknames (which later turn out to be their real names all along). Gira is also able to understand other similar guardian beings, like the Zyudenryu Gabutyra for example.
Abilities[]
- Unpredictability: Gira is seen as the most unpredictable to be read in a fight because of his speed, athleticism, and violent fighting style. This results in most of his opponents to be guaranteed to lose in an one-on-one fight, especially Rcules. He even outwitted Rcules when he was either Ohkuwagata Ohger or King Ohkuwagata Ohger.
- Brainwashing Immunity: Being the personal creation of Dagded Dujardin, Gira is completely immune to Hilbil Leech’s brainwashing.
Weaknesses[]
- Dagded Dujardin: Being a personal creation of Dagded, Gira is susceptible to Dadged's control, albeit unwillingly. This is proven as Dagded successfully controlled Gira from afar to summon Extreme King-Ohger, in order to lay waste upon the citizens of Shugodom. However, the Shugods themselves are able to break this control, as they resonate strongly with Gira's will.

Rangers[]
- King-Ohgers
- Yanma Gast/Tombo Ohger: Yanma was the first king Gira meets in Nkosopa. Initially butting heads due to Gira not truly understanding how a real king works and Yanma looking down on him for his previous naivete, them getting to know each other more in multiple situations has helped building a strong friendship, made evident by the saving of Gira from Daigorg's attack.
- Hymeno Ran/Kamakiri Ohger: Hymeno meets her along with Yanma after God Mantis takes them. Her apparent selfishness rebutted Gira initially but seeing her as the kind of queen to dirty herself for the sake of her people has improved his opinion of her.
- Rita Kaniska/Papillon Ohger: They didn't get to interact a lot but Gira greatly respects the fact that they prioritize justice over anything else, even at his own expense.
- Kaguragi Dybowski/Hachi Ohger: Kaguragi was fond of Gira's sincerity to help people in need. Since the first time Gira has shown his resolve to dethrone Racles, he has set up a plan to double cross Racles. Kaguragi shows how much he appreciates him by letting the then young prince to use the Ohger CrownLance, claiming Gira to be the one truly worthy of wielding its power.
- Jeramie Brasieri/Spider Kumonos: Gira first meets Jeramie after taking him and his casket away from Shugodom. At first put off by his cryptic messages, he came to understand him better after hearing about The Three Great Shugoshin's closeness with God Tarantula. This understanding is apparent after the timeskip, which helped them get closer as comrades.

Family[]
- Reiniol Husty † - Ancestor
- Gira initially fought Reiniol in Hakabaka alongside the King-Ohgers to save Devonica, defeating him and earning his acknowledgement. He would later temporarily return to Chikyu and assist Gira and the King-Ohgers in their battle against Dagded.
- Causus Husty/Ohkuwagata Ohger (I) † - Technical stepfather & Former Superior
- Causus originally thought that Gira was his son & considered him a miracle child. Until at an unknown point during Gira’s upbringing that he realized that Gira was probably the result of his request of power from Dagded Dujardin (And later confirmed it when he fed Gira God Kuwagata’s soul) that Dagded had altered his second Son's genetics by splicing in his own while still in-womb. As a result, he started to see Gira as just a tool to defeat Dagded Dujardin; ultiamtely wanting to make Gira eat more Shugod Souls so he could become the mindless puppet and weapon.
- Queen † - Mother & Former Superior
- Gira never knew his mother, as she passed away after giving birth to him. It was later revealed that Dagded has augmented Gira's Fetus with his own genetics upon request from Causus, ultimately leading to complication's during the Pregnancy.
- Rcules Husty/Ohkuwagata Ohger (II) - half Brother, Former Superior, Predecessor, Former Enemy, & Teammate
- Before the Bug Narakus' return, Gira used to see Rcules as a good man, though he lost all respect for him after the latter refused to aid in the battle against the Bug Naraku and revealing that he willingly sacrifices the lives of civilians for his own agenda. He stole Rcules' OhgerCalibur, which allowed him to become Kuwagata Ohger and is disposed to overthrow him in order to bring justice to Shugodom, even if that means becoming a fugitive. It is later revealed that Rcules is Gira's older brother due to their blood relation. Gira fought him in the Trial of Combat twice: lost in the first one then won on the second time as well as winning the throne from Rcules. Once Rcules showed his true allegiance and helped him defeat Dagded Dujardin, the brothers were finally able to reconcile. When they were younger, Rcules often looked out for Gira and showed him the OhgerCrown, even though he wasn’t supposed to. When Rcules found out the truth about his brother and his father told him to only view him as a weapon, Rcules refused to and took Gira to an orphanage. When Gira stole the OhgerCaliber from him, Rcules realized that Gira’s powers awakened and started to indirectly help him get stronger, all with the intention to defeat Dagded. Despite this, Rcules never wanted Gira to fight and wanted him to live a normal life, which is why he sent him to the orphanage in the first place also to protect him . But Rcules knew that after Gira awakened his powers, he was most likely to be the one to defeat Dagded and used him to defeat him. Even though he used Gira to defeat Dagded, Rcules never viewed Gira as a weapon like his father wanted him to as he told Rita that Gira is Gira.

But after hearing Tarantula Abyss's side of the story, while still believing the Abyss King's actions to be unforgivable, he recognizes that humanity has a part in Desnarak's hatred for it, apologizing for that.
Uchu[]
- Uchu King Dagded Dujardin: After hearing that the space king plans to use Chikyu as nothing more than a means to play his life-exterminating games, Gira makes it very clear that he will not submit to Dujardin's threats, attacking him on the spot.
