This article is about a villain in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. |
The Ghost of Darkness was a skeleton who served as a plot device in the first part of the three-part episode "Return of the Green Ranger".
History
A creation of Rita Repulsa, he once conjured the Wizard of Deception to send an unknown individual back in time. In 1995, with the Power Rangers contemplating what time period that they would like to be born into, Lord Zedd wishes for a world without the Power Rangers and plans to send all of them back in time. Goldar points out that the Ghost of Darkness can summon the Wizard of Deception but Zedd reminds him that he is a creation of Rita’s and she is not on good terms with him for some reason. After some presumed begging, Rita consults the Ghost of Darkness and bemoans every time that they have banished the Power Rangers several times and they have always returned. The Ghost of Darkness states that Tommy’s leadership is the key to defeating the Power Rangers for good; destroy him and the team falls apart. Knowing his keen nature however, he suggests creating a clone to defeat him whilst the Wizard of Deception sends the other Rangers into the past. After he sends down the Wizard of Deception, Rita bows thanks the Ghost of Darkness before leaving and the being is never seen again.
