Genji Kaku (嘉挧 源治 Kaku Genji) is the childhood friend of Kinjiro Takehara who was selected to be part of the Universe Warriors as RyuRanger (リュウレンジャー RyūRenjā).
History[]
Genji Kaku was Joji Takehara's long time friend and claimed rival ever since childhood, attending the same educational institutions with him from kindergarten to university. eBack in the days, they shared many moments together, such as: eating fried rice together with Fusako, eating kanyu drops in school post-war, playing menko competitively and aesthetically, and playing baseball together (noting its being 70 years and 18 days since their last plays). The two has become friends as they shared the same common view to be strict towards themselves and others.
At some point in the present, the elderly Genji was contracted with Tegasword and Dairanger Sentai Ring, becoming Universe Warrior RyuRanger and his body rejuvenated to participated in the Ring battles to collect all rings with the wish of eternal youth. One day, he found Joji (as Kinjiro) while hanging out with his grandson, Futoshi, after classes and call out his surname, much to Kinjiro and Futoshi's confusion since they shared same surname. Seeing Kinjiro hadn't recognized him, he call out Kinjiro's original name Joji, much to Kinjiro's shock and Futoshi's confusion, Kinjiro immediately dragged him to the nearby sports court to avoid his secret getting spilled.
Personality[]
Like Joji before becoming Kinjiro, Genji is also a strict person, and he thinks that people who live without a dream to achieve or break the rules is a shame, as he thinks people should not waste their time on unnecessary things. After regaining youth, Genji does not waste his time as he immediately finds Kinjiro to request a match to bet all their Sentai Rings, while even accepting the competition organized by Trump No.1 in order to win the Rings.
