Icon-kiramagerThis article is about an episode in Mashin Sentai Kiramager.

Episode 9: This Is My Youthful Path of Karuta (わが青春のかるた道 Waga Seishun no Karuta-dō) is the ninth episode of Mashin Sentai Kiramager.

Synopsis

"Sena Hayami!" A voice from afar suddenly calls out to her as she is jogging alongside Juru and Tametomo. It was Sena's own childhood friend, Makino Murasame. It's a touching reunion until she tells her that she is dropping out and then walks away. Sena is unusually affected by this given her appearance and is surprised by what just happened.

Just then, another Jamenshi appears in the midst of the city. Once the Kiramagers arrive on the scene they notice people struggling to try to remove giant cards from their foreheads. Sena is surprised to see the cards, suddenly exclaiming,"Wait! Is this... Makino's curse?" Attached to everyone's foreheads is a Hyakunin Isshu poem card ticket, and the name of the Jamenshi is... Hyakunin Isshu Jamen.

The Hyakunin Isshu Tournament of Hell, therefore, involves having people complete the first phrases of poems by using the cards on their foreheads in the correct order. The Kiramagers are counting on Sena to win this challenge because of her previous karuta experience, and her unmatched speed and velocity.
