Up Ahead, Gekisou Fusion (この先激走合体 Kono Saki Gekisō Gattai) is the fifth episode of Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It is the conclusion of a two-part story introducing the Carranger's RV Robo and Inventor Grotch's investigation into the imo-youkan of Earth.
Synopsis[]
Having figured out the key to growth being a certain imo-youkan, Grotch unleashes the full potential of Bowzock's best eater, forcing the Carranger to fully utilize their new dream vehicles and merge into a giant robot to face it.
Plot[]
On the Bowzock space station, Zelmoda recaps the previous events on a monitor, particularly how Grotch ate some Earth food that made him huge, only for MM Mogu to shrink from the same food. Asking what's happening, Zonnette hypothesizes that to grow huge, you have to pull on your chin, tormenting Zelmoda as he tells her to stop while Gynamo is likewise being tormented by having Wumpers pull on his own tongue before throwing them down. Gynamo tries to yell at Zelmoda but Zonnette warns him of his blood pressure only for Grotch to burst in stating he figured out the secret to growing. When Gynamo asks if he truly has, the scientist reveals that the "Earsh imo youkan" is the key to everything, shocking them as Zonnette and Zelmoda state that there was imo youkan part of the food that MM Mogu shrank with. Grotch reveals the imo youkan MM Mogu ate was from a convenience store while his was from a store called "Imocho", surprising them into an experiment. Grotch take a cockroach and feeds it Imocho's imo youkan, making it suddenly grow into a larger size and making the other Bowzock impressed by the action and making Grotch bluish to the point of Zonnette kissing him (only for the cockroach to take it instead).
On Earth, Yoko wonders what the Bowzock are doing as the Carranger learned to operate and combine their Ranger vehicles. In a garage, Dappu cleans the Ranger Vehicles while wondering if the team can fuse them as he taught them. At the same time in garage, Natsumi is calling up relatives about whether there have been any Bowzock attacks while Kyosuke and Minoru read over the manual and work out how to proceed with the fusion technique for the vehicles at 800km/hr, Red Racer telling Green Racer to handle it. Dappu bursts in stating the Bowzock haven't appeared and it's time for lunch, shocking the team.
In the city, Grotch rides around with the tiny MM Mogu stating they need to get some imo youkan from Imocho with the wallet he brought with. Arriving at the store, he purchases some imo youkan from Imocho, surprising the salesman who talks about the weirdoes who have shown up there. Grotch soon feeds the Imocho imo youkan to MM Mogu, instantly growing him from his tiny form to a massive giant in an instant. At the Pegasus Garage, the Carranger are playing around with egg katsudon "fusing" it together when Ichitaro shows up stating that a Bowzock has suddenly grown huge outside, exciting the team but confusing the boy as they give him their food with confusion. With their target a giant, the Carranger rush outside and transform as Dappu activates the Ranger Vehicles with his Carmagic, the five cars rushing out with tremendous speed.
Grotch tells the giant MM Mogu to smash "Earsh" to pieces; but without warning his pants become undone as his giant bellybutton becomes exposed in the process. Grotch yells at MM Mogu about why he isn't destroying the planet as the Gorotsuki states he hadn't cleaned the lint from his bellybutton, making him facefault. On the satellite, Gynamo complains about this sudden event as Zelmoda notes the Carranger approaching in the Ranger Vehicles, wondering where the cars came from and instructs his partner to stop them no matter what. The Carranger approach the Ranger Vehicles in the Speeder Machines, linking in with ease as they begin their preparations to do a fusion as Zelmoda shows up with four Wumpers and their own vehicles to prevent the fusion. Kyosuke instructs the team to begin the fusion as Blue Racer passes him until Red Racer is attacked by the Green Wumper's machine munching down on him, forcing Naoki to turn around and smash the evil vehicle out of the way to save him. Pink Racer is soon approached by a blue and white Wumpers preparing to crash into her until she splits her car in two, making them crash into each other.
In the city, MM Mogu continues to worry about exposing his dirty bellybutton to the public; Grotch tells him to not worry and he hadn't cleaned his bellybutton in decades, exposing it's sour smell to the Gorotsuki making him realize that compared to his superior, his bellybutton is clean, giving him confidence to destroy everything without worrying his bellybutton. With this confidence, MM Mogu decides he's going to "eat Earsh", picking up and eating every building he can come across.
Blue Racer realizes from the destruction that the team has to fuse now as he tells Yoko to hang in there as they begin to fuse. Pink Racer states it will be OK as she fuses her car with Naoki's, only being saved by an airbag as the two are placed into a control room. Elsewhere, Yellow and Green Racers try to align for the fusion and become in synch but keep hitting each other, making Yoko and Naoki worry about them. Yellow and Green smash together their cars and turn around as Naoki sets them up, only for the Red Wumper to fire a beam at them as the duo complete the combination smashing into their opponent. With Kyosuke the only one left, he begins his pursuit only for Zelmoda to block him telling Red Racer he'll blow him away. Kyosuke and Zelmoda enter into vehicle combat smashing their cars into one another and scraping into the side, Red Racer realizing he has to do something looking into his manual reading up about an "emergency button", which reveals a giant head which turns and socks Zelmoda as it tells him to watch his surroundings, distracting the Bowzock long enough to crash into a rock. With Zelmoda off his back, Kyosuke rides off a cliff and right into the vehicle combination, completing the five as they enter into "Battle Mode" with their keys, raising their combination and fully transforming the Ranger Vehicles into their final form: RV Robo. Realizing he's had enough, Zelmoda cowardly leads the Wumpers back to base while leaving the battle with the Carranger to MM Mogu as the Rangers celebrate their new RV Robo; but Dappu tells them not to and to pull out their "RV Sword" to finish MM Mogu off.
In the city, MM Mogu continues to destroy all in his path devouring the city and setting it aflame with chaos, forcing the Carranger to activate the RV Sword and accelerate the giant mecha towards the Gorotsuki as it continues to rampage. As the sky darkens, the Ranger Vehicles approach MM Mogu in giant form before spinning out and activating their "Gekisou Cut", slashing MM Mogu and destroying him with ease. Grotch realizes that his partner has been destroyed while Dappu celebrates the victory; while on the Gorotsuki satellite, Gynamo states he'll get the Carranger next time while Zonnette continues to deal with the perverted giant cockroach running amuck in the base.
Back at the Carranger base, Dappu congratulates the team for their first fusion; Kyosuke states it was easy with their dream cars as Minoru states that Red Racer's was the scariest and even Naoki states he didn't know what was going to happen. Yoko states they all did this together while Natsumi states they should work together to clean their cars up from the dirt of battle, which the five do with a good scrub and maintenance. Dappu nods with confidence as the team show their new dedication to their duty.
