We Were Naïve!! (俺たち甘いぜ!! Ore-tachi Amai ze!!) is the fourth episode of Gosei Sentai Dairanger. It is the conclusion of the two-part battle with the Key Jester, as well as reveals the origins of the war between the Dai and Gorma.
Synopsis[]
Angered by the Dairangers' lack of confidence in each other in dealing with the Key Jester, Master Kaku forces the team to learn a history lesson regarding the Gorma and the consequences of their failure.
Plot[]
After Kaori's soul was stolen, the Dairangers are at the base berated by Master Kaku, who explained that he had tried to stay out of it so they would come together as a team. Shoji affirms they are just rookies, and Kaku walks off in anger. Daigo is angered by his teammates' excuses.
At the hospital, Daigo worries for Kaori and Masao, while the other Dairangers are unable to concentrate in their daily lives.
At the restaurant, Kazu is eating lunch with Shoji. Kazu believes the Dairangers are finished, and they are interrupted by a doll on a skateboard. Both of them run after it. They arrive at an amusement park, where dolls are rampaging.
Elsewhere, more dolls are causing havoc, robbing stores, hijacking vehicles among many others.
Kazu and Shoji run back to headquarters, only to find Daigo and Kaku meditating. The two are sooned joined by Rin and Ryo. Kaku asks them to sit and meditate, and with some hesitation (not wanting to hesitate to defeat the Gorma), the Dairangers comply. They focus their Qi-Power, and they began to float. They wake up astrally-projecting in China, where Kaku tells the story of the Gorma.
4000 BC (2000 years before the other four major civilizations even started), the Daos civilization existed in peace and prosperity until the Gorma Tribe insurrected. The Gorma took over the civilization and they ruled with cruelty. The people did not stand for it, and started a secret rebellion. (Kaku takes them to the cave room where the rebellion started.) But the battle was endless, and it resulted in the total destruction of Daos civilization.
The Dairangers feel bad for the civilization's destruction, it is then that Ryo finds images of the five mythical animals whose power they each possess. Kaku further explains that the Mythical Qi Beasts manifested and fought alongside the civilians, granting them immense power. It is then they realize RyuseiOh is not the only one.
Kaku then shows them a vision of the Earth if they fail, showing them humanity's subjugation under the Gorma, with cities aflame and people in chains (including Kaori). The visions reinvigorate the team, and they are determined to stop the Gorma. Kazu and Shoji apologize for being naive and absent-minded, leading to the kidnapping of Kaori and the other children.
The Dairangers appear to deal with the dolls. They attempt to catch one to force it to find Key Jester's hideout. They manage to find one fleeing from them, and chase after it. Daigo manages to corner the doll, when it materializes a door on a blank wall and goes through, with Daigo following suit.
Daigo wakes up on a beach, and finds Key Jester relaxing. While Daigo fights Key Jester, the other Dairangers fight off Cotpotoros. The Dairangers transform, and RyuRanger summons RyuseiOh to find Daigo. As Daigo transforms into ShishiRanger, he is still no match against Key Jester. RyuuRager finds ShishiRanger at the mercy of the Gorma, and performs the Big Blaze attack and fight it off.
As the rest of the Dairangers arrive, they fight off the Gorma Minion together, each brandishing their individual weaponry. ShishiRanger creates an illusionary door for Key Jester, and challenges him to open it. As Key Jester finds the key and opens the door, he explodes, and gets knocked back. The Dairangers then perform the Qi-Power Bomber, and defeat him at last.
With his death, all the puppets he made fall limp, and the souls go back to the children's bodies. The Dairangers walk off, now more determined than ever to defeat the Gorma.
