Synopsis[]
The Kakuranger must help a family affected by a poverty-inducing Yokai, which is made worse when they also become affected by it's poverty-making powers.
Plot[]
The Kakuranger are driving around singing happily about Nekomaru when they notice a man with a suitcase who asks them to a ride to Midorimachi. He is named Ninomiya and that he couldn't wait for the next bus while he states his family he hadn't seen in five years is waiting for him; he had to go to the city to work after his business at home failed and he finally paid his debt off and now he can live with them again. Ninomiya starts crying about his trauma as the rest of the team cries and decides to speed Nekomaru to get there. They deliver him to his children Kenichi and Naomi and his wife Kimiko, the three of them just happy their ordeal has ended and they can be a family again. Sasuke states that Tsuruhime will be like that again soon as they leave.
But as they do, a Yokai appears complaining that despite Japan's economy failing, humans still seek luxury and are conceited and it's unforgivable. He states he'll make them poor instead and uses his Binbo Poor Beam on Ninomiya's house, wrecking it. The family suddenly is living in a destitute house with no windows, clothing or money as everyone in the entire complex complain about their money being taken, including a jackpot just won! Ninomiya checks his money and it's been turned to worthless paper, making the children wonder what's going on as the Yokai appears before them introducing itself as Bimbogami while Daimaou laughs. The Yokai states if the block swears allegiance to Daimaou, he'll help them by using his "Wealthy Gold Beam" to refill the wallets of the affected as they suddenly swear to Daimaou. Daimaou states humans are foolish for their material desires and stamps those swearing allegiance to him to prove obedience before ordering more slaves by this method. Bimbogami asks Ninomiya and his family to join them, but Kenichi yells he doesn't want to be a Yokai's servant before rushing out, Bimbogami yelling at the others to pursue them.
As the Kakuranger finish up another day working at Nekomaru, the Ninomiya family rushes to them; they notice their poverty and wonder what's going on as they hear about Bimbogami as it appears before them. Sasuke tells the Yokai to not touch them as the Yokai wonders how they'll defeat him as Tsuruhime advises the Ninomiya to hide in Nekomaru for their defense and they use their Doron Changers to transform. However Bimbogami uses his Binbo Poor Beam, transforming the Kakuranger into bizarre shoddy costumes that make them into the "Poor Sentai Kakuranger!" Jiraiya is angered and tries to use Kakuremaru but it shatters on impact as he's kicked away; Bimbogami states he's more powerful in this modern day. The team soon try to use Kakuranger Ball but it's turned into a rubber ball; they then try the Shark Driver but that's turned into bicycles and wagons, shocking the team as they become powerless to Bimbogami's Attack Beam! Bimbogami soon orders them to get the Ninomiya Family as Nekomaru charges away, the Kakuranger boarding to escape as Bimbogami uses the Binbo Poor Beam again on the Yokai, wrecking the Yokai bus into being a sluggish wreck with bad breaks and falling apart and throwing out the Ninomiya family as they scream for help as Bimbogami and his forces surround them. Nekomaru continues to drive out of control as they approach a truck before Ninjaman rushes in and holds them off as the break, saving both the driver and Ninjaman as he wonders what happens to the team and Nekomaru. Ninomiya cries as he realizes his family were left behind; while Bimbogami locks Kenichi, Naomi and Kimiko up to lure the Kakuranger out to their doom.
Getting a written challenge from Bimbogami, Sasuke wonders how it could come to this while Ninomiya despairs, crying as the Kakuranger sympathize. The father tells the Kakuranger to save his family; he doesn't care if he's poor as long as he still has them and wants to prove happiness is stronger than poverty. Convinced by his tears, Ninjaman takes Ninomiya's challenge and charges out to help him out. In a quarry, Bimbogami takes a smoking break when Ninjaman appears to them; Bimbogami uses it Attack Beam but misses Ninjaman; but when it uses the Poor Beam, it knocks him from his cloud as he becomes poor! The Kakuranger confirm if he's OK as he falls, Ninjaman complaining he would have been satisfied if his cloud became a flying carpet but instead it's an old dust cloth. Ninomiya goes to his knees crying and despairing for his family while Sasuke tells him he may seem invincible but Bimbogami is bound to have a weak point, making Ninjaman think as he remembered his masters, the Three God Generals, talk about Bimbogami once but not sure if it helps discover the secret. Ninjaman states that Bimbogami used to be a notorious moneylender Yokai that collected money greedily and mercilessly and became wealthy until those he stole from rioted and robbed him of his money leaving him penniless as he swears to make everyone to be poor making him become the Yokai Bimbogami. The story ends up giving Sasuke an idea and he swears to Ninomiya they will save his family now.
Bimbogami yells at the Kakuranger for being late and decides to teach them a lesson by executing Ninomiya's family as they despair. But suddenly, gold coins rain from the sky, the people rushing to collect them as the Kakuranger throw them from the cliff to the people below! Bimbogami yells at them to stop getting the coins as he is knocked away, making him remember his infamy of his past before declaring the coins are his, knocking the others away as he steals to take all the coins and turning him back into a human moneylender and turning the Kakuranger and Ninjaman back to normal with the others! Bimbogami wonders what's going on as Ninomiya saves his family and leads the others away while the Kakuranger mock him that they used fake coins to blind him with greed to lose his Bimbogami abilities, revealing they were only Fool's Gold, leaves turned into coins. Angered, Bimbogami returns to his true form as he summons the Dorodoro, the team defeating them as he threatens to use his Binbo Poor Beam; Sasuke uses the Kakuremaru Mirror Swing turning Daimaou poor in the process before the team uses the Kakuranger Ball to defeat him before he's hit by the Yoki Cloud; the team summons Kakure Daishogun and Ninjaman grows; Bimbogami throws out his Attack Beam at the team and then uses the Binbo Poor Beam but it's deflected by Muteki Shogun, leading to him accusing them of being novices turning Ninjaman into Samuraiman. Bimbogami is soon defeated by the Samurai Rage Bomber, Flaming Shogun Sword and the Iron Fist God Finish while declaring he wanted to be wealthy.
Later at the Heights Miyamae apartment complex, the Ninomiya family thanks the team for letting them live a good life while the team tells the kids to care for their parents.
