Ep. 45: Heirs to the King (王を継ぐ者たち Ō o Tsugu Mono-tachi) is the forty-fifth episode of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. It features the final appearance of Minongan Moth.
Synopsis[]
The kings have formed an alliance of the six kingdoms and have broken the seal of the power of the "King's Proof". They are now ready to fight their sworn enemy, Dagded... but Gira and the other kings have turned back into children in spirit! In addition, Rita and Kaguragi have their own "succession problems"...!?
Plot[]
Yanma hands the king's symbol which have been unsealed without his knowledge. They have an idea that the light they shot might've been the seal release but they aren't sure. The rulers agree that only when the powers of the King's Proof are released, they can bring the fight to Dagded.
Elsewhere, Dagded is ecstatic, knowing that two of his Jesters are dead, wanting to collect Chikyu even more while Minongan Moth is upset by Leech's death while Kamejim doesn't seem to care, calling her nothing more than a pest only to take back the statement after Minongan gets more upset. Minongan then requests to attack Chikyu, even with Dagded's warning.
In Tofu, Kaguragi tries to tell Suzume that they need preparation should anything happen to him but she just takes it as Kaguragi feeling lonely, brushing him off and attending to Rcules. While in Gokkan, Morphonia is overrun with paperwork, asking for help from Rita but the judge warns her that at any moment she could become the judge. Morphonia has her doubts, seeing that she was a child of criminals, surprising Rita. Later, the monarchs prepare to use their King's Proof. Kaguragi starts first and is able to generate fire but he quickly catches on fire. Thankfully, Rita uses their power of ice to cool off the flames but ends up freezing themself in the process.
Kaguragi is put in a tub of ice to cool off while Rita is in a large warm Muffon Jacket to gain warmth. Jeramie notes that ironically, the powers of Yanma, Kaguragi and Rita could destroy their own countries. Rcules and Suzume are in the cell together which irks Kaguragi so much he breaks the ice cooling him off. Rcules warns them that as rulers, they need to make suitable preparations for a successor. Before anything could be done, lasers attack Ishabana's castle. Rcules tries to protect Suzume but she moves him out of the way the last second and gets hit, along with Morphonia. Minongan appears and the King-Ohgers fight him. Gira is about to finish him off but the worry of another Dagded spawning stops him.
The King-Ohgers are out of options and Minongan manages to hit Gira, Yanma and Hymeno with his lasers that makes them act as children. Rita hits the monster with their arrow to send him flying. The King-Ohgers walk in, only to find Suzume on top of Rcules, trying to murder him due to her mind being reverted back to that as someone who despises Rcules. Meanwhile, Morphonia acts ruder, refusing to help Gira and cheering on Suzume. Gira yells in anger and it summons Kuwagon, who's heading for the castle.
Rcules manages to calm Gira down while fending off Suzume and Kuwagon turns away. The unaffected tend to those hit by the beams, Kaguragi reprimanding Suzume for attempting to kill Rcules but Suzume refuses to listen while Rita asks if Morphonia remembers that they're supposed be together forever, but Morphonia doesn't recall. The king and lord go outside to talk, noting that their loved ones lost ten years of their memories. Rita asks for what Suzume was like back in the past and Kaguragi tells them that back then, if given the chance she would murder Rcules in a fit of rage. Kaguragi proposes a trade since Suzume's intent 10 years ago could be tried, both shocked at the others' neutrality or underhanded conduct.
Jeramie comes in, telling Rita that Morphonia escaped, angering Rita. They tell Kaguragi that she was a daughter of thieves and a serial jail breaker but tells him that she isn't a bad person despite her past and that they both attended law school, believing that Morphonia has a future. So Rita asks that Kaguragi accepts Morphonia as a citizen of Tofu and Kaguragi in turn asks Rita to try Suzume.
Later, Morphonia is welcomed to eat in Tofu by Kaguragi. He asks if she wanted to come to Tofu so much that she hid on God Hachi with the woman replying that growing up in a place like Tofu is all she wanted. He tells her that she can peacefully be a citizen of Tofu without having to be Rita's heir. Morphonia is excited but Kaguragi asks that if giving up the heir position is something that she really wants which catches her off guard. She admits that she would be judge is she could but feels like that Rita didn't recognize her as an heir in the end. Kaguragi denies this, telling her that she doesn't understand Rita: A judge that lets their neutrality to put a lid on their feeling and by excluding Morphonia from the role, protecting her. He then says that he and Rita are the same and that Rita hopes that she becomes judge.
Meanwhile, in Gokkan, Rita has Suzume testify on the legitimacy of her and Rcules' marriage, thus possibly allowing her to return to Tofu. Rita tells her that Kaguragi wants her to be his heir, and she accepts but Rita asks if that's truly what she wants. Suzume then tells of a childish dream she has to be the wife of someone she truly loves but that her status as a Tofu woman and the possibility of being chosen as an heir would make her throw away the goal and gladly accept being Lord of Tofu. Rita then tells her that she doesn't understand Kaguragi: A lord that even lies to himself in devotion to his country, hiding his true feelings so much that he misses what is really important. They then say that themself and Rita are the same, telling Suzume that what Kaguragi wants is for Suzume to find whom she loves and to be happy.
The rulers are warned that Minongan has arrived in Gokkan, both appearing to battle him. After weakening Minongan, they know that defeating him would be the wrong move, so with their powers together, Rita freezes Minongan while Kaguragi uses his power of fire to keep Rita warm, using Gokkan's naturally cold weather to keep cool as well. Minongan is sealed and the people affected by Minongan's magic are freed. Kaguragi and Rita realize that the power of the rulers are able to compensate for the other's weaknesses just before Suzume and Morphona arrive and talk with their respective rulers. Rita tells Morphonia that they believe that she can handle the stress of a judge's life while Kaguragi asks that Suzume be by Rcules' side and to live to enrich her own life as well, leading to the women thanking their rulers as everyone then returns to their countries.
