- This Sentai episode is significant both as the last episode of 1988 and the very last to air during the Showa Era of Japanese history. On January 7th, 1989, Japanese Emperor Hirohito died; this would pre-empt the next episode of Liveman from airing until January 14th, making it the very first Sentai episode to air during the reign of Emperor Akihito. However, with the series mostly completely aired while Hirohito was alive, Liveman would be given the title as the "final Sentai of the Showa era", making the next Sentai the very first of the Heisei.
