The Thing Hidden in the Abare Kid (アバレキッドに潜みしもの Abare Kiddo ni Himishimono) is the forty-second episode of Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger. It is the first of a two-part turning point for Mikoto, who is lured into potentially awakening a horrible being within himself.
Synopsis[]
As they keep fending off Mikoto's attacks, the Abaranger make a surprising discovery regarding his past, while Mikela and Voffa decide to manipulate an important revelation about AbareKiller to their own advantage.
Plot[]
Several men-in-black are scouring villages in the countryside looking for any hint into Mikoto Nakadai's past.
Meanwhile, Mikela is trying to feed Mikoto cuisine from Dino Earth to the point that he is getting sick. He receives a kiss from Lijewel and goes home, while she goes to bed. Mikela tells Voffa that Mikoto is likely housing Lord Dezumozorlya. Jeanne helps them scheme: if they can break Lord Dezumozorlya out of Mikoto's shell, then the Lord Dezumozorlya housed within Lijewel will also emerge, and they can destroy both Earths.
Back at his house, Mikoto plays darts with Yatsudenwani. Topgaler and Stego believes Mikoto has two or three more transformations until the Dino Minder kills Mikoto. Stego asks if Topgaler is really okay with letting Mikoto die.
At Dino House, Mai tries to cook up a new menu item, but she gets distracted and burns her egg. Emiri and Ryunosuke comfort her. Meanwhile, Stegoslidon contacts Yukito, pleading for a truce between the Abarangers and AbareKiller to prevent AbareKiller from dying. Asuka confirms this, and Ryoga remembers there will be a resulting explosion from the Dino Minder.
Stego meets the Abarangers outside of the city, trying to distance himself so AbareKiller cannot form KillerOh. However, Topgaler and Mikoto fly in anyways. Mikoto confirms the rumors - his body is failing, but does not care if he dies - and reclaims Stego. Mikoto transforms into AbareKiller, and struggles with the power of the Dino Minder before attacking the Abarangers with his super speed. Yukito blames Stego for bringing Abarekiller here, and Ryoga declares his intent to seize the DinoMinder. Asuka leads the Abaranger transformation. Stego refuses to fight, but AbareKiller forces the transformation of KillerOh. AbareMax, AbareBlue, and AbareYellow summon MaxRyuOh. KillerOh struggles, with Stego mutinying against Topgaler. Topgaler explains that KillerOh is weaker when AbareKiller's power wanes.
Topgaler falls, and AbareKiller is ejected to the beach. Still, AbareKiller returns to hand over the Dino Minder. His Bakuryu refuse his commands. Bracchio comforts Stego.
The men-in-black arrive, revealing themselves to be the agents of Yukito.
Mikoto returns to the Evolian base, where he explains his need for stronger subjects. Mikela and Voffa scheme to give him a new Giganoid that will actually corrupt him. Jeanne secretly conspires against them with Yatsudenwani.
Back at Dino House, the Abarangers and friends look over relics from Mikoto's past. He excelled at everything, and this made his life boring. In 3rd grade, his parents feared him and thus put him up for adoption to a councilman.
Mikoto attacks the city with Giganoid 11: Inextinguishable, which has been trained off of Bakuryu attack patterns. Stegoslidon teams up with AbarenOh to battle Mikoto and his Giganoid. AbareBlack assists from the ground. Yatsudenwani watches the giants battle. Mikoto leaves his Giganoid, and Mikela and Voffa command Inextinguishable to turn on AbareKiller. Mikoto disappears and the Abarangers are left wondering what happened to him.
Yatsudenwani cheers on AbareKiller's defeat, but gets a phone call from Jeanne, alerting the Abarangers to his presence. Back at Dino House, Yukito and Ranru "torture" the Evolian plan out of Yatsudenwani.
