Ep. 42: The Secrets of King Rcules (ラクレス王の秘密 Rakuresu Ō no Himitsu) is the forty-second episode of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. It features the apparent death of Uchu King Dagded Dujardin.
Synopsis[]
In order to defeat the Uchu King Dagded, Rcules has actually been pretending to be the "king of evil and tyranny" for many years. What happened in the past between the Uchu King, Shugodom, and Rcules? What is the secret that Rcules kept from Gira for 17 years? The truth is finally revealed!
Plot[]
After slashing Dagded Dujardin, Rcules Husty asks Gira to stand up. Meanwhile, Kaguragi Dybowski calls the other kings who are upset at his betrayal, telling them to let Rcules and Gira deal with the Uchu King. The Husty brothers then transform side by side and engage their enemy. Rcules then narrates his whole plan.
17 years ago, during the Wrath of God, a young Rcules is toyed and humiliated by Dagded. Dagded orders the new king to continue the Shugoddom's duty of cleaning up the planet as his proxy, something his father has failed do to and was killed for. Rcules then determines that the Uchu King must be put down.
To this end, he secretly develops the Ohkuwagata Ohger's power while pretending to be a warmongering tyrant. During the Bug Naraku's first invasion of the kingdom, Gira appears and uses his power to awake the Shugods, which happens earlier than what Rcules has planned. Gira later successfully destroys Rcules's Ohsama Gattai King-Ohger ZERO, a system of artificial Shugods that cannot be controlled by the Uchu King. Although his plans have been turned upside down by his younger brother, Rcules is pleased with Gira's powers, which he deems necessary for the endgame. He then stealthily helps Gira get stronger by allowing him to obtain God Kabuto, the Ohger CrownLance, and King Caucasuskabuto. While he intends to eventually let Gira have the throne, he first needs to uncover the spy that Dagded has sent to his kingdom. This happens by chance during the brothers' second Trial by Combat when Kamejim's guise is exposed. Rcules then allows himself to be defeated by Gira. He reveals that he has been assisted by his two collaborators, Kaguragi and Suzume.
Kaguragi tells the other King-Ohgers that while he initially planned to take advantage of Rcules, it turns out he was the one used by the Shugoddom's king all along. He learns of the plan after Rcules's wedding with Suzume. Rcules leaves a secret message in her ring to invite them to join him in hell in order to protect their people. After the second duel, Suzume gives Rcules a poison (which was tested in the first duel) to fake his death, so that he can go underground, approach Dagded and gain his trust, ultimately leading to him obtaining the power to kill the immortals.
Rcules's onslaught successfully injures Dagded, but the Uchu King remains unfazed. Dadged summons a giant burning boulder and throws it at the silver Ranger, but Gira takes the hit for him and survives to thanks his immortality. Dadged grabs and repeatedly slaps Gira, but the younger brother counters with his own attack and is knocked back. Rcules walks towards Dadged but the Uchu King then summons a horde of energy swords and throws them at Rcules, one of which pierces through his chest (as Dagded materialize the said sword and throw it himself) and cancelling his transformation. As Rcules fails to the ground, he throws his OhgerCalibur ZERO at Dagded, seemingly as a last act of defiance. Although the Uchu King knocks it away, Gira manages to grab it and charges at the villain using Fang of Defiance. Dadged creates an energy shield to protect himself, but he is stabbed by Rcules from behind by the Ohger CrownLance. Rcules shoutes at Gira to end Shugodom 2000 years of death and servitude to the Uchu King, with an annoyed Dagded exclaims that the Husty are nothing more than a measly specks as he expands his barrier. However, Gira remains resolute and bravely announced Rcules resolve to become 'evil' to protect the people on Chikyuu. To this end, Gira ended up declaring himself a Husty and Rcules younger brother, much to the latter's surprise, and finally breaks through the shield and deals a fatal blow to Dugded. The Uchu King then laughs manically and explodes with the explosion knocks the brothers away.
Now that his 17-year-long plan has paid off, Rcules then raises the Ohger CrownLance at Gira and demands him to vow to become a king who will protect his people. As Gira makes the vow, Rcucles smiles, wishing his younger brother Good Luck and collapses in his brother's arms, with Gira tearfully calling Rcules his older brother. The King-Ohgers suddenly appear at the scene, with Hymeno immediately claims that Rcules's situation is hopeless without her. Jeramie uses spider web to close his wound, telling Rcules that his story cannot end there. Yanma suggests using Rcules as a test subject for the artificial organs his kingdom is developing, while Kaguragi picks his body up and tells him that he is not allowed to die without paying his debt to him first. Gira asks if they truly want to save his brother, but Rita tells him that the King-Ohger taskforce does not discriminate when it comes to saving people. The King-Ohgers then walk away from the battlefield with dignified expression, they have won.
